DU Shovel VS M1 Abrams

This simulation shows the impact of a Depleted Uranium shovel being fired from an RPG at a range of 0.2km, targeting the turret of the US M1 Abrams tank.
The MPL-50 small infantry spade was a standard piece of infantry gear. Its primary purpose was entrenching, but it was also used as an ax, hammer, oar, lever, and measuring device (its size was standardized 50 in its name means 50 centimeters).
It was also useful as a close combat weapon or as a throwing projectile. Really, an all-around great tool for an infantry soldier who has to move on foot and carry a lot of stuff.
In WW2 not every infantry detachment had always engineering units with enough trench-digging machines. Soldiers had to dig trenches and other fortifications themselves, using shovels.
