This is a wonderful pattern and I plan to knit more. I must confess that it takes me several attempts to finish the kfb row. If you find it to be a challenge too, keep trying. It’s only one row and it’s row 2. It’s worth the effort!
I love these so much!!! I made four of them already!!! Lots more to go!! I’m going to use them as gift card holders and Christmas ornaments!! I have two questions 1. Would I be able to knit them in the round?? 2. I love to make these in a reg Christmas Stocking size do you know how it could be made transferable to the larger size???
Wow Kelly what a great idea!! I don't know if you could make these in the round - it's Amanda Berry's pattern, and she wrote them knitted flat. I think it would probably need to be rewritten for that. And second, you could try knitting them in super chunky yarn and big needles for an easy way to knit one bigger! Or, you could look for a bigger pattern - we've got lots! Paste this link into your browser for more! www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/search?q=christmas+stocking kindest, Merion xx
Hi Renee! Sorry for our late reply and for the confusion with the links. We have many different stocking patterns on our site including this one (bit.ly/2nnFBqI). Hopefully you can use it this Christmas instead! Ailish and the LoveKnitting Team
Sorry, am i being thick, I cast on and it seems backwards to how you're holding everything. I'm semi new to knitting but can't understand how your cast on is tied at the top
Hey there! So the R10 stands for what row you’re on. We are on row 10. K10 means to knit 10 stitches normally. (K2tog) x 8 means when you start to stitch the 11th stitch, you’re gonna add another stitch to it because you’re decreasing. You’ll do that 8 times. And then the last k10 means to stitch the last 10 stitches normally. Hope that helps!

Hi I started the stocking and am on the R10: K10 (k2tog) x 8, k10 part. I am a beginner; what does this mean?
I'm stuck too help
