Here is a tip! To find an accurate construction date on a building, go into a bathroom that uses tank style toilets and lift off the tank lid. On the back wall inside of the tank is the casting date of the tank. If the toilet was installed during original building construction, you should have a very close building date.
What if you looked up the previous owners and ask why they moved. Maybe they could tell you what they were told by the city or new buyer. A lot of times there are a few hold outs that dont want to leave so how did they get every single home owner to leave? It feels very dystopian.
On double pane windows, between the two panes of glass, there is a manufacturers date stamped, it can give you an idea of when the house was built or last renovated.
You can thank BlackRock and Vanquard for all of the disappearing homes and neighborhoods all across the country, especially in the Mid-West. If you've seen the "We Buy Houses" signs, or if you've ever received a call from a random person asking if you or someone you know might be interested in selling your home or property, they are most likely part of one of those companies, BlackRock specifically. If you are unaware of what BlackRock is, or what they do, might I suggest you research them. Very interesting, I will say. Also, is this neighborhood near a race track/road course or something? From the sound of those motorcycles running wide open, I would assume a road course or some really great open roads.
They have NO CONSCIENCE when it comes to the citizens of this country GREED is the ONLY GAME in town for those companies … in lock step with WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM ~
You might make the argument that Blackrock/investors are responsible for the high prices in residential real estate (but even that isn’t the whole story) but not disappearing/tear down neighborhoods. For that you can thank Democrats. Many of these towns are dependent on a single company and when that company goes bankrupt or moves so does everyone. Motorola in Harvard, IL is a great example. They left almost immediately because they couldn’t get the talent. Chicago is dragging the whole state down.
If you look at the windows, the part that holds the glass it will tell you the date of the house because they always date windows going into new builds. This will tell you dates.
Why isn't it possible to find any information on line on this? What's happening and why? Why are people's homes being confiscated? When did it happen? Who is responsible? Investigation please.
Have people seen the taxes in illinois? People probably left these houses because the could not affort to pay the taxes every year. Thanks "boss hogg" pritzker for that.
I'm 100% sure the owner of the house is Asian. A non Asian would never put Chinese relic symbolic for good fortune in their house whether it's the hallway or the front and back door. The house looks new, probably during the 2008 housing market crisis which led a lot of owners abandoning their high cost mortgages in the urban/suburb area.

How big is this alleged warehouse supposed to be? And how can this be financially viable? Is land that much more valuable than land with functional homes on it? None of this makes any sense.
Definitely looks like kids used it for a hangout or squatters were there for a bit. I cannot get over the waste of salvageable items that could've been stripped and sold for repurposing. Such a waste. Amazon could've made a business out of that for sure. Huge market for it. Just sad. So interesting to see what folks leave behind...rather sad.
Maybe I missed the context. It was a wonderful video and I watched this on my projector and it looked stunning and depressing. I am an hour or so west of Chicago and was curious. There’s so much of Illinois. When we drove to Florida, we were so far south in Illinois and it felt like we weren’t even in Illinois anymore. I’ll have to watch more of this channel, as I didn’t understand why the town wasn’t named. Evidently I’m missing something lol. My apologies, but I really liked the video!

Is Illinois becoming one giant warehouse?
By 2025, no more residential homes allowed in the state. Gonna be nothing but endless warehouses.

I'd stop with mansions rhetoric. I think Rockefellers, Kennedy's, etc. I live in some of these and I can assure you I'm as middle class as they come.
Any house 5000sq feet or larger is a mansion. Don’t know what the sq footage is on that one but it doesn’t take much to qualify
