I have followed the steps as described, but see nothing when I try a test or play a sequence. I've doubled checked all the settings, looked in the logs, upgraded to latest FPP version (8.x-master-287-g03fbc510) but not sure how else to troubleshoot. Any tips?
I'm trying to connect my E682 with FPP. I have access to both web pages but can't get any playlist to work. Can you tell me what settings I need to make to get the E682 communicating with FPP?
Check to make sure the outputs are enabled and configured in the master FPP controller for your E682. You should have the IP address, channels, etc configured in the outputs page. I am not too familiar with your pixel controller, but make sure it is configured to accept data from other controllers as well.
I'm trying to set this up on a stand-alone FPP and I get the following error on the status page when I restart FPPD. "Abnormal Conditions - May cause poor performance. Could not initialize output type HTTPVirtual Display. Check log for details." This also happens with output type Virtual Display. I've scoured the longs and can't find anything. Do you have any suggestions where to look?
It seems with FPP 6.x their has been a bit of the "Could not initialize XXXX" errors happening with various outputs. If you are using it as an HTTP virtual display, you may want to try disabling the "force HDMI" setting along with disabling the default video output device if you have one set. The other thing I have found to be troublesome with FPP6.x is the Pixel Overlay models. Sometimes just deleting them completely, unchecking the "auto create models from outputs", save, restart FPPD, and then re-uploading from FPP connect, making sure to upload all models. Sorry to hear you are having issues, but that is what I would start poking around with.
@@fppshorts I've tried all four combinations of those two switches without success. I haven't uploaded any models or sequences since I can't get past the error. Should I have some sequences, media and models uploaded?
@@Chucka1463 Really I think the issue comes into that no Overlay models have been defined. I would try uploading a sequence to see if that helps. I know with BeagleBone capes, if you don't have outputs defined, the "could not initialize" error can happen.
@@fppshorts I've uploaded a half dozen different sequences with no change. I upgraded from 6.1 to 6.1.1 no change. Is there an older version, aka pre-6.1, where this will work?
@@Chucka1463 I have tried this with a few different Pi's (3b, 4, and zero) on 6.1 and 6.1.1. By any chance are you using a beaglebone? I am happy to hop on a zoom call or something, as it has to be something with the configuration.
This is fabulous! Thanks for the detailed video on how to do it.
Awesome! Thank you so much for putting out this content, it helps so much to demystify all the settings in FPP.
Thank you very much! Starting to work on more content now. If you can think of anything you want more information on, just let me know.

Other than Rasperry Pi, what other controllers could I use that will output HDMI? Pi’s are hard to get right now!

@@fppshorts Thanks. I finally got it working!
@@RonniesWorkshop Sorry I took so long to reply. Glad you figured it out!
