Good morning, beautiful women (inside and out). I’m close to your mom’s age and I get so much from watching your videos. You are so real and strong in your faith without any holier-than-thou vibes. Blessings 💙
I just accidentally caught two lizards on a glue trap I set outside my back door where I saw bugs waiting to enter and did not want to use poison. I felt terrible and prayed for help freeing them safely. Then I looked on the internet and saw that oil could dissolve the glue. I slowly worked the lizards off the trap and rubbed the oil on their little stuck hands and mouth until they could flick their tongue out and get their hands off their tummy. They lost the ends of their tails and were terrified, I feel so bad and put the traps just inside the door. Both lizards were able to scamper off but may not want to help me with bug duty anymore. So, I ask God for help and God reminds me to apply science to meet him half way. Thank you both for your wonderful thoughts and advice, you make such a difference!
I know.💜 When I have to eliminate a pest inside the house, I’ve gotten to where I say, “Sorry, little bitty, but you can’t live in here with us.” And then I say kind of as a prayer, “Lord, I will be so glad when that Day comes when the lion and lamb will rest in the shade together and one does get torn to shreds by the other.” IDK what that will look like, but I’m hoping I can let all the toxic spray and fly swatters and glue traps go away.💜
I have the best bug catcher from Montessori Services. You slide it over the insect, and he is trapped inside. The kiddos can view him via a magnifying glass. Then we put him outside in a garden or bush. Insects or mini beasts are fascinating. My children have many in plastic containers as pets. I never thought I would be a bug Mom, but I am. I cut up veggies and make them bug burger. Lol. They even have little personalities. We have a Madagascar hissing cockroach that rooms with a beetle. They are friends. At night, they snuggle together. Who would have thought it? Their little lives matter, too. Many insects do so much good for the environment. We wouldn't even have chocolate without mosquitoes. I would never have known except for my son, who wants to be a biologist. I even catch flies now and put them outside. It's funny, but they let me. I guess they know.
Thank you for this reminder! I recently started kneeling in prayer and doing a short Bible reading (with my actual Bible, not phone) out in our family room where my kids can see me. It may be a little more chaotic, but I was realizing that they see me on my phone all hours of the day (yeah, I need to work on that..maybe once my six-week-old isn’t nursing every hour 🤪), but I was keeping prayer more of a private time in my room alone. But I realized that if I want my children to know the importance of personal prayer time then I need to demonstrate it!
There's a quote I heard in my Church class that says if you fly a kite then you'd think without holding on to the string would limit the amount it can fly. But actually if the kite doesn't have a string it would come crashing down to the ground. Structure is necessary to thrive. ☺
Number 1 is too hard for me as I rely on it to distract pain from my chronic illness and sleep deprivation. I no longer kneel in prayer, but I do use a prayer shawl to help me focus.
Thank you for giving me a kick to go back to switching off the phone overnight and not switching on in the morning before reading Scripture. The Lord bless you both.
Thank you for affirming me. I have let go of many outside commitments so I can fully focus on homeschooling and being a wife. It was hard to let go, but 7 months into this decision and I feel so free and happy to be fully available to be my kids mama and a supportive wife to my husband. God is so good.
Im 36 weeks today so i feel that, but this is my 7th and final baby so im remembering to enjoy these final days feeling a little baby moving inside me and the fun anticipation of delivery and what baby will look like. Lightning crotch aside 😅
I don't watch a lot of TV either. Maybe turning off the phone would be the hardest?? I try to keep my phone on throughout the night for "emergencies. " However, I have only had an emergency occur once, so I know that trusting the Lord in this area to eradicate this excuse would be something for me to work on. ❤
Praising the Lord for His faithfulness about yours and Caden's sleep! Just had a similar experience the Lord helping me with my 5-month-old and I know exactly what you're feeling!
That was so sweet to pick up my phone and see the two of you haven't seen you for a bit missed you Thank you for listening to the Lord and bringing that to us it's so appreciated Thank you both for being about your Father's business🤍
Understand the phone thing because if I surely start falling asleep, something or someone on the phone rings, thereby waking up. I pray throughout the day. Especially if I need direction or thinking of a person. We don’t watch tv and decided to start reading books but my grandmother said only truth books because the fiction ones allows your mind to believe false doctrines. Kind of like listening to music. Who was the writer and what weee they going through when they wrote the song. Made sense to me.
I get trying things out and then pray to God. I wish my first reaction was to pray. Thank you for the reminder to pray first. And being out of energy and patience.
Please pray for my daughter who is 16 and dealing with a chronic illness. We are trying to figure out what is wrong with her and we are so frustrated and need prayers . Thank you for your encouragement and love!
Dear Lord. We pray that this family would experience your peace as they wait for answers. Thank you that you know and see all and that you are the ultimate healer and sustainer of all life - that you are always with us and never leave us. Be their strength and hope. May your spirit surround them and fill them. Amen
I do open my phone first thing but it’s to the Bible app where I get a short daily devotional and then do the longer Bible reading and listening to the commentary of Tara-Leigh Cobble of The Bible Recap. It’s a great way to start my days. ❤ I often pray but I have never tried kneeling. I’m going to implement that aspect. Love love love you ladies. I know your parents are very proud of the two of you!
Netflix - no problem. Turn off phone - I got a try that one! Kneel in prayer 3x a day - my husband kneels to pray at bedtime (interesting). Kneeling for prayer three times a day would be hardest. But interested in trying.
We watch The Beginners Bible almost everyday. My kids like to listen to the stories to fall asleep with. I turn on with RUclips Red and turn off the screen. They can listen and fall sleep 💤💤💤
Oh Diana and Dawn! You both warm my heart! I'm so excited for this Lenten season and Easter coming. I need more of your devotional videos Diana:) Getting ready for church this morning and this is so great to hear to put me in the mindset of establishing good habits. Big love and hugs to ya'll! (Sent from a Southern girl and Mom of two college kids in N.C.)
This all so true. Praying as last resort its crazy! We are just coming out of federal inspection so much stress, We just started praying its been a hard season and we had nothing more to give. The Lord delivered we ended up with a great score. Prayers for your families, love you girls!
I would say Option 1. I use RUclips as my 'TV' entertainment and I feel i watch way more than 4 hours a week. I've tried to cut it down. Work in progress.
I don’t think a person should ever turn their phone off. Just because it’s on doesn’t mean you have to be one it. For example my daughter was in a wreck as a teenager. I was on a band bus and her dad lived about a block away from the wreck. Phone off so she could not contact a parent. I broke both my ankles at night. My neighbor who has keys to my house turns her phone off. So it was quite an ordeal to get someone in my house to help me.
I put mine on Do Not Disturb every night at bedtime. But I have our immediate family members in my “favorites” list and that way they can still get through with a phone call in case of emergency.
Enjoyed the video. Good, goodly advice. In my opinion, one of the things we need to do the most is ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER! We are so busy in life: jobs, spouses, children, school, etc., I know I often feel overwhelmed and want to fellowship with my Christian sisters. I’m actually starving for that.
Making it a habit, I would say kneeling 3x a day. However, I now have a garden foam pad under the edge of my bed and use it every morning which has helped me greatly!
Watched this while walking on the treadmill this morning and it was a total GODSEND. Our oldest daughter joined the Air Force and we just got home from her graduation from Basic Training late last night. It was harder than I ever thought possible to say goodbye to her again and I’m struggling. BUT listening to you both brought me so much encouragement and your prayer was exactly what I needed to hear….so thank you!!! Just like the newborn stage with its sleep deprivation doesn’t last forever, the pain of separation won’t last forever either. God bless you both 💜
God cares about what we care about as His children. I loved this video. God is so GOOD to us. Everyone wants to be apart of something that is bigger then they are. God is bigger. 🌷your little one is beautiful.
I came back to this video to tell you I've taken your suggestion to kneel 3 times a day (though not perfectly). It is life changing! My focus goes to the Lord & others. I also listen intently should the Lord want to speak to me. I find myself looking forward to these breaks with the Lord. Thank you for dropping this suggestion to kneel, Diana.
I was really hoping for a replay of the “tomb cake” event! I have a book by Chris Hodges called Pray First. Working through it. I definitely need to do the 12 hour no phone 📱 plan. Thank you guys for being God’s messengers .
The phone is the hardest one. I use it for alarms to wake me and reminders throughout the day. I literally touch my phone before I do any other thing in the morning.
Thanks for the Easter guide. I have been enjoying reading John. The prayers have been really useful to. To put up on my study wall and when finding the words to pray sometimes don't come. To start with those prayers. God bless you both and your families
Amen!!!! There is power in prayer!!!! Between 1 and 3. Im trying to get a good balance, its a work in progress! I love your Easter guide Diana! Thank you so much for all your hard work! I also love how you reminded us of an option to add in, at Lent! So I am reading thru the scriptures in the guide! Its a lot of reading for me to absorb but I know the more I practice it, the easier it will become!! You are both a breath of fresh air!!!! Blessings on you and your families!!!! And Praise the Lord for Caden sleeping!!!!!
Our pastor led us/encouraged us to put away all social media, t.v. etc for one week. We were "allowed"/suggested to listen to audio books or podcasts instead but even better play board games and do things with your family. I enjoyed it, but I have a hard time just doing it on my own. It was nice to explain to people... My pastor/church has encouraged us to have a media free week.
I also have 4 kids (9 mo to 6 yo), so I am right there with you. Before mine were 4 months old, I wasn't able to get them to go to sleep on their own and I always rock them to sleep. Then they can end up with shorter naps as a result. Then at 4 months it became a lot easier! At that point, they all learned to go to sleep on their own very quickly like you said. So then they start sleeping longer stretches because I’m not putting them to sleep for every nap. You made it! It’s so nice when they start sleeping longer stretches :)
Hi Diana and Dawn, it was such a blessing to see both of you on this latest video. God bless both of you and your families ✝️ Thank you for the lovely prayer.
I just love you Diana. I love jow you give glory to the Holy Spirit. I’m 9 weeks pregnant, hopefully I start to pray baby sleeps through the night. I also have a 4 and 2 y.o.
The 4 hr netflex, Praying is easy, don't kneel might not get back up, but as I pray my rosary I walk around the house. 3 rosaries a day and I get about 4000 extra steps in.
I pray and I give thanks for the littlest things. Even the smallest things. I do watch tv but old tv no streaming ever. I’ve never tried kneeling. I usually pray when i get in bed to fall asleep and when i wake up first thing in the morning
I have a Bible reading habit that started with the Bible Recap. Thanks to you too. It’s daily! I did it three years and now the habit is firmly established. I can faithfully read on my own every morning. I’ve also now folded in daily handwritten prayer and journaling stacked on that habit.
A speaker I love, Tracy Browning, compared morning prayer and scripture study to putting on her glasses when she woke up - it made sense of the world and brought life into focus. I think #1 would be the hardest for me. Watching with my husband is something we bond over - I grew up watching sitcoms and dramas with my family after supper - but I have been trying to stop screens at 8:30 pm to make that conscious choice to kneel in evening prayer to "talk over" my day with the Lord. I'm happy you and baby are getting more sleep 😴 it's so important for having the energy and patience for mothering ❤️
As I am thinking, I think I will wake up a little earlier, have my bible and Christian book by my bed and do some reading and worship before getting out of bed. I am retired and no children at home, I do have pets but they aren’t in a hurry in the morning so I may be able to do this. I need something because I’m not doing well in this way. Thank you for your video
Hardest for me right now is limiting watching social media due to dealing with breast cancer and chemotherapy. Having to stay home and missing church and my teaching job. Watching you both brings joy and inspiration. Always wanted to declutter enough to add a prayer room/closet with one of those kneeling prayer benches. I agree that a change in the environment is good. I have the candles on timers around my house and even a little faux fireplace on my nightstand. Brings me peace and is so restful. They turn on each night and glow. If you are sick like me you can still participate. Lots of local churches are willing to zoom you in. That was one blessing from COVID-19 days. Now we can mix in the folks that can't make it in person. Been a blessing as I need it now!
Best wishes for your healing from cancer. The teaching job is hard to give up for awhile. Also, if you meed a good online church service, try Malvern First Christian church in Malvern Ohio. Pastor is Kenny Thomas. We found them during covid and it is a good Bible based church.
@@brg2743 Thank you so much! I will check it out. I have been following my home church but also several others. It helps to pass the time and keeps me focused on God.
I am going through breast cancer for the 2nd time; lean on God for your strength. Know that He is God (Psalm 46:10) and just do what you can when you can. Prayers are going up for you to The One Who will Heal you. 🙏🙏
I've never been a 'phone person'. I have it charged and on, but I'm terrible at texting and I don't have all of the popular apps. I do keep it on during the night because I have a couple 'third shifters' and I got a call a week ago that they had broken down on the road and needed a ride home. Last Fall, the Holy Spirit told me to delete anyone who isn't a family member or close friend. I think I now have 20 "friends" (family)
I could probably do the 12 hour phone fast quite easily. My phone stays downstairs when I go to bed......so I already have around 9 hours without it. I would like to kneel in prayer though
God bless you Diana and Dawn, I watch and re-watch your episodes multiple times. I’ve watched this episode probably about 5-6 times, and that is no exaggeration, you, cheer me when I’m down and inspire, encourage, and teach me in many ways!
I have missed you Diana, as well as you and Dawn together! So many things to comment in this one 😉 First it’s amazing everytime I pray and get shocked at him answering it, especially with a YES! Second I would have to say my hardest would probably be watching tv would be the hardest for myself, which is so sad but I will try this! Third my boys love superbook and I have forced them to watch the old school ones I grew up on 🤣 but the beginners Bible is hilarious we laugh at it, but still good. They now watch the story keepers, highly recommend that one!
Thank you for your encouragement. As I fold laundry this has been my time to listen to your encouraging words. Prepares my heart for the new week. Thank you for new ideas to draw closer to Jesus. ❤
The hardest for me would be diminishing the hours I spend each week watching shows on various streaming services, which I primarily do in the evenings. It’s how my husband and I enjoy down time together when our brains and bodies are TIRED from the day; it helps me to stop thinking about the part of the to-do list that I didn’t get done that day and just zone out for a while. Honestly, it works just fine for me and I have no desire to change this. I have done a LOT of work diminishing scrolling on the internet, including Social Media, so I am very pleased about that and I find that helps me spiritually, emotionally, and just practically as I get more done and am more focused when I need to be. I would love to kneel more when I pray! I would have to set alarms to remember to do it three times every day!
Hardest habit would probably be kneeling for prayer 3 times a day because that's not how I've grown up praying. The quote about being born looking for someone who is looking for us was one of the most powerful ones to strike me when I read Habits of the Household! I loved the whole book and I'm due for a reread.
You can set it for do not disturb and still have emergency contact calls and alarms come through. It really helps to not get the pings as you're winding down for the night
Re sleeping babies... the best day ever for me was in the NICU with our #3 the nurses told me if he is a asleep let him sleep and just pump during those times up 6 hours of time ( I was always told to wake them at least every 3 hrs as newborns..) it helped get him into a good routine. At 11 days old when he discharged he slept most nights for 5 hours at a time unless in a growth spurt.... fast forward to Baby 7 age 2..... he was in the nicu for 6 weeks with heart surgery and recovery at birth and then again at 9 months for surgery #2 and he still doesn't sleep solidly thru the night..... we have prayed so many nights for the Lord to help him sleep soundly and I'm always amazed when he answers with baby sleeping all night 😊 my husband and I have been talking about having a 1 day electronics and phone fast in our house. Where we do not use our cell, we have a landlines phone so we could use that and people can reach us in emergencies, but no tv, phones, computers etc.. I feel it would be very beneficial
(RUclips is malfunctioning. The written info on the videos isn't coming up. ) I think God sent me to this video at the right time. It confirms what the Holy Spirit has been prompting. These 3 suggestions all sound hard in different ways. I am going to watch this first part again and write something in my prayer journal, and then take action. I haven't knelt in prayer much in the past 50 years, (I will turn 70 this year.) But, I want to start doing that. I waste way too much time scrolling Facebook every day. I watch RUclips videos as I walk laps in my house, since my treadmill broke, so I will keep that as a possible loophole. I also watch Booktubers, and research health information. I definitely need to start spending time in the Word before I pick up my phone. I work part time and I get up before 6 AM, three days per week. So, that means I will need to get up at 5:30. Thank you, you have given me some great challenges!
Thank you! That was lovely. And also made me smile. Great start to my day. That and I've got two loaves of sourdough bread rising! One for us, one for my daughter's family. God is so good.
Hello Diana! I am trying to access your Christian fiction booklist on Amazon via the link you provided, and it says it isn't working. Could you please provide an updated link? I so enjoy both you and Dawn's book recommendations ❤️
I love you two together! You both are such blessings to this world. ❤
Good morning, beautiful women (inside and out). I’m close to your mom’s age and I get so much from watching your videos. You are so real and strong in your faith without any holier-than-thou vibes. Blessings 💙

I’m of the same age and agree!

Hate glue traps.
Glue traps should be outlawed!!! So much needless suffering that last for days before death comes!
I know.💜
When I have to eliminate a pest inside the house, I’ve gotten to where I say, “Sorry, little bitty, but you can’t live in here with us.” And then I say kind of as a prayer, “Lord, I will be so glad when that Day comes when the lion and lamb will rest in the shade together and one does get torn to shreds by the other.”

I love you two and I’m going back to old videos. It gives me so much inspiration when I’m going through a season of health problems
I adopted 2 from Guatemala, both came home at 6 months, I'm telling you, those Guatemalan foster moms know how to get babies to sleep!
Thanks for the smile 💛
Number 1 is too hard for me as I rely on it to distract pain from my chronic illness and sleep deprivation. I no longer kneel in prayer, but I do use a prayer shawl to help me focus.
The prayer shawl is a good idea for those of us who have bad knees or arthritis
Love the prayer shawl idea. Thank you!
@@lennyburdick3192 you can easily use a scarf or blanket or whatever is handy
Thank you for giving me a kick to go back to switching off the phone overnight and not switching on in the morning before reading Scripture.
The Lord bless you both.
I use a garden kneeling mat in my room to kneel for prayer so it doesn’t hurt my knees. Sometimes posture makes a big difference.
Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come! ❤

We want to be Seen, heard, known, loved. It is also important that we do that for others to.
My favorite fiction reading is the Metford series by Jan Karon. A long series! I got most from Elibrary.

Beautiful prayer, thank you.
Number 2 for me. Texting is our family’s number one way to communicate
So enjoy your "sister" videos. Thank you for the encouragement. :o)
#1 is the hardest. Evenings are too quiet so I watch something.
Your prayers are so beautiful! I am saving this video to pray your prayer again in the future. Thank you!

@@shannonjones8165 Thank you
"All He paid for on the cross..." WHEW!! Thanks for that!
My prayer and spiritual reading are on my phone. It comes down to using it wisely
I actually canceled my internet the other month and I find myself opening up my bible more.
Diana, I am so happy to see you, I’ve missed you 😄 also, # 1 would be the most difficult for me to give up.
I could go on and on about the times my prayers have been answered. Literally ALL the time. Have faith and know that HE is listening. ❤
Yes. number 1.
I have actually gotten to the point where I have to put my TV controler on top of my Bible to remind me, God first!
🥴
Has Diana ever mentioned where she gets her nature videos during prayer time?
Does she make them herself?
They're always so relaxing and refreshing 💕🙏
I grew up on the beginners Bible in Russian. 😂 I loved it! So old but so comforting 🥰
Always enjoy seeing you talking together. Right now I do watch to much media
I love the kneel in prayer. Not the hardest but would like to attempt. ❤
Love you both ❤ Sisters in Christ ❤
My #4 of #5 is celebrating his 25th Birthday today. TWENTY FIVE YEARS OLD. It FLIES!!! Every second of it!! #DontBlink
Kneeling in prayer 3 times daily would be hard for me. Just remembering in the afternoon to do it! Gonna give it a try!
As a new mom, I love that quote you shared. Hit me in the sweet spot❤
God bless you Diana and Dawn, I watch and re-watch your episodes multiple times. I’ve watched this episode probably about 5-6 times, and that is no exaggeration, you, cheer me when I’m down and inspire, encourage, and teach me in many ways!
Hello! Cooking up some food for my son who has to start dieting- so glad for the challenge to take every need to 🙏🏻 asap not as a last resort❤
I have missed seeing you girls together. Back on track with both of you. It gives me so much inspiration. God Bless You!
So good to see both of you together!
I have missed you Diana, as well as you and Dawn together! So many things to comment in this one 😉
First it’s amazing everytime I pray and get shocked at him answering it, especially with a YES!
Double the Joy! Both Diana & Dawn! And a lovely , inspirational message ( a challenge. Yes!) today. Thank you!! Happy Easter!💕
Great to see you Diana. As always, I look forward to your wisdom and prayers.
I love watching you two together. I love both of you
The days are LONG and the years are short! ❤
Hardest habit would probably be kneeling for prayer 3 times a day because that's not how I've grown up praying. The quote about being born looking for someone who is looking for us was one of the most powerful ones to strike me when I read Habits of the Household! I loved the whole book and I'm due for a reread.
Book: "On Becoming Babywise" by Ezzo and Buckman was a miracle worker for me when my babies were infants! ❤❤❤
We've missed you Diana !! So good to see you and Dawn together again.. Love you both !!
You guys are so funny and encouraging!
Amen
My kids love super book too, have you seen story keepers? My kids love that. Also friends and heroes! ❤
Hardest option: turning off my phone. Not only am I overly addicted, I use it as an alarm. It feels impossible to do.
Yeah! I just thought of you 2 last night and hoped to see a video soon❤ and here you are❤ thank you Lord❤
.... you're looking good Diana
(RUclips is malfunctioning. The written info on the videos isn't coming up. )
I think God sent me to this video at the right time.
The parents are the ones that need to be trained! They have to let their babies cry it out.
😡😡😥
Hello Diana! I am trying to access your Christian fiction booklist on Amazon via the link you provided, and it says it isn't working. Could you please provide an updated link? I so enjoy both you and Dawn's book recommendations ❤️
Thank you. I just happened on your video and needed to hear this. Thank you.❤
