Its simple how it works. Inside every non active stylus pen there is a metal spring, the rubber tip does not do nothing as if you remove the spring, the stylus would not work, so you need an object that conducts electricity. Same with active styluses, the tip is metal so therefore the inside must have a copper ring inside it that conducts electricity and onto the tip of the pen, its like an electromagnet, thats why it requires charging, to provide energy to the tip. If you dont believe me, take the tip of your cheap stylus off and put it on a wooden pencil and try to use it, and then do the same with a nail or a metal object and it should work. Sorry for giving you this hella long physics lesson but hopefully you will now understand how the pen works now 😁😁

Im not 100% how it works, but from what i know from the top of my head and school, i guess thats how it works. Hope that makes more sense. 😁😁

My response got erased... 😅 of course! Murphys Law. Anyway, My family all has Android. Nothing has to pair with USB. The "microphone" end is Much gentler on your unprotected screen than you might imagine. The metal nib on the tip is whats touch responsive and you Never have to swap it out like the other ones (like i-pen). The squeaking is just from the cheap machine oil drying up in transit from China to... wherever you are. Hope that helps! Been using mine for over a year, no problems. No screen protectors on anything old or new. The sensitive metal point is the "active" part. Cheers!😊
Video starts at 3:35 Bluetooth is for pressure sensitivity. Metal is softer than glass, so it cannot scratch glass. The problem is if your protector, or screen, is made or coated with plastic, then that may scratch the plastic.

I have not seen you use the cable in the new packaging that will usually charge the stylus pen you own so the battery in this pen will be in Samsung too. A Samsung stylus pen I once purchased without a box did not have any cable should this pen I purchased have a cable. Should of purchased a boxed pen there is no place for cable too plug in

This pen has no palm recognition. You cannot rest your palm on the screen while writing. This makes the pen pretty much useless for taking notes.
