Just because somewhere is a tourist destination doesn't mean it's safe for all citizens to live there. Obviously it's not at all applicable to this case but there are plenty of reasons and individual could be fleeing a country.

I have been threatened twice by these individuals with a knife over the years. The first time, I reported it and received a serious warning from the police. However, the second time I was threatened, I did not report it to the police out of fear that they might arrest me instead. The second person who threatened me claimed he was allowed to carry a knife because it was part of his religion, but if I were to carry one, I would be arrested. 2 tear policing.
It is totally shocking that you have been made to feel that you cannot report such an incident to the police for fear that you may be the one in trouble! So wrong that the police cannot even protect its citizens. This is getting out of hand. Every day this country is sliding more and more out of control.
