In 2016 Sarah Boyle’s life was turned upside down after she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. She was given several rounds of chemotherapy in which she lost her hair, she endured a double mastectomy and reconstructive breast surgery. However, in an unbelievable twist of fate, Sarah was later told that doctors at the Royal Stoke University Hospital had made a mistake and she’d never had cancer at all. Sarah joins us alongside her lawyer as she begins the process of rebuilding her life.

I was told i had colon cancer and was going to make an appointment for chemo. But the lab decided to look at the biopsy samples again and saw no cancer. Thank god

I don't know anyone who rates the NHS, appalling how they treat some people, they finished both my parents off tbh, mind boggling how her case can get to that stage...

What an amazing woman! It should probably be emphasised that you don't necessarily feel ill with Cancer. I've never felt so healthy as am taking great care of myself but it's the treatment that will make me feel unwell. She clearly has a heart of gold to be able to forgive a mistake like that and thank Goodness the system has been changed to hopefully prevent this mistake from happening again.

How do you know you have cancer?

@@carilesli Assuming a large group of experts are not making a collective mistake, the tissue that has been removed from me has been analysed by specialists in the UK and the USA and deemed to be Cancerous. Thankfully I no longer have Cancer but am still undergoing Cancer treatment to prevent reoccurrence in the future. This woman's experience seems to have led to new rules that should (in theory) prevent this from happening again (fingers crossed!). It goes without saying that no one should ever have to experience what she has.

This is a huge issue in UK. I would say 85% of all people I know don't have trust in doctors and their diagnosis in this country.
My personal experience: I am suffering from migraine and GP doctor almost diagnosed me with brain cancer, then a week later she diagnosed me with ear infection. At the end, luckily, another GP doctor got the diagnosis right.
But yeah... doctors in UK are a joke, which is why it's always good to get a second opinion on your "diagnosis"

It’s the NHS. Taxpayers will pay. The doctor probably got kickbacks from the chemo suppliers.
