    . Variable Primary Flow (VPF) Chilled Water System consists of variable speed pumps that are responsible for the distribution of chilled water through the system. Isolation valves used in the variable primary flow(VPF) system shall be slowly opening to avoid the abrupt change of flow through the operating chiller during staging up of chillers.
    Chillers used in Variable Primary Flow Chilled System shall be able to handle the variable flow through the evaporator. Flow-through the chiller shall be maintained between the minimum and maximum limit. A bypass line with a control valve is used to maintain the minimum flow through the operating chiller during low load conditions. A flow meter is used to measure the return water flow which is used to control the fast-acting bypass control valve.
    We discussed in detail about sequence of operation of variable primary flow chilled system. Also, we discussed how we can over-pump the operating chillers to lower the impact of low delta T on the variable primary flow chilled system. We also discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the primary flow chilled water system.

    also is there a way to limit demand the first chiller when we want to start the second chiller to prevent tripping due to freezing chill water supply temperature in addition to have slow control valves at the chillers?

    My doubt is how the water is being supplied into the buildings without any pump? Plz explain

    • @TechSystems
      @TechSystems  2 года назад +1

      We have primary pumps here which are designed to supply water to the complete building loads.

    Why primary are variable can you explain, I saw every where only secondary is variable

    • @TechSystems
      @TechSystems  Год назад

      This is a variable primary only design where the primary is variable and secondary is not available. What you saw is a constant primary-variable secondary system.

      @@TechSystems in this system, if there is no secondary pumps then how it will circulate the water from Ahus

    • @TechSystems
      @TechSystems  Год назад

      Circulation will be done by the primary pumps. In this system primary pumps are larger and are designed for water circulation through the loads.

    At 100% load flow rate is 2000 usgpm
    At 50% load flow rate is 1000 usgpm flows through chiller what is the remaining water of 1000 usgpm flows .where it goes

    • @TechSystems
      @TechSystems  2 года назад

      At 50% load the pumps speed is reduced, so the flow rate is reduced to 1000gpm.
