Honda ATC250R Build Breakdown - The Baddest 3 Wheeler EVER MADE!

- I talk about everything I've done to my 1985 Honda ATC 250R. I bought it when I was a Sr. in Highschool (2010). It never ran quite right when I first bought it. It seemed go run too rich and just didn't have much power. I messed with the carburetor and got it running right and it ripped for a while before I had some major engine problems, locking up the bottom end. I then ordered a new BDT Big Bore 310 motor off Ebay. I got that installed and running good, then I got a better job and starting ordering a bunch of aftermarket parts. I stripped the entire bike down to the frame and repainted and powder coated everything. I put my new white plastics (custom cut) and gas tank on along with a new seat cover and chrome wheels to complete the new look. My brother in law made us custom foot pegs that turned out amazing. It's been running awesome and looking great for over a decade now!

Growing up I was lucky enough to own a few 3 wheelers. A 200X, 250R and a 350X. All were great fun but of the three the 350X was my favorite because it was a beast in the snow. Nice looking 250R 👍
I've never rode a 350X, but I'd love to own one some day!

You have got to love the sound of a properly running 2 stroke. They sound so awesome. You also have to love the explosive power they make. I just love a 2 stroke on 2,3 or 4 wheels it don't matter to me.

Sweet....I've always wanted the trx250R and passed one up for the 400ex. Love my 400...its done up too but I still have the itch for the 250R.

@gwilliesgarage man I shoot myself in the foot everytime I think about it. It's starting to hurt...lol. It was the same price too ($2700). It was clean too. SMH.

I built my 250 ported it and other things done ended up with 4 kick start. Compresson was 223 pounds just a lil over stock 150 to 170 factory specs it hauled ass raced it for 3 years. 😊😊😊😊
Yeah I'm 60 now body would not handle the abuse now those 350 s were a force to not ignore but they had to push to keep up with the 250 s have fun stay safe on those 3 wheelers and wear that safety gear

Look up BVC trikes if you want the baddest lol they also have a light that runs off a tool battery I think. I also use tusk dirtbike light that’s bright and stand alone

Yea BVC does some crazy stuff. High dollar builds though. This bike is sweet man.

If you paint the frame blue it would make it spot on its beautiful i love it
I've actually thought about tearing it back down and re-doing it bc there are some things I would change now.

the tiger 500 and the 350 banshee is a tad bit faster. i owned a brand new 250r back in the 80,s bought it from bama honda on 280 bypass in phenix alabama. loved it. not much will beat it.
Well and the tiger 250, 86-87 tecate 3, and the lt500r were all faster in a straight line but Honda designed these to be a handling weapon for tracks and the woods

So did you get a 250r motor and have it bored out or did you buy it already bored out? The pegs were cool but don't belong... you have a 310R now
