Well the whole video was awesome as per this whole series but it was very touching hearing you talk about your mom at the end of the video. Glad you left that part in there. I’m sure she’s keeping a close eye on you during these trips.
Thanks for sharing the story about your mom. My life has also been greatly affected by cancer. I’m so glad you had the chance to be with your mom in her final days.
Excellent once again. I'm so glad you took the time and effort to record and produce the video/adventure. I know how much work it is... and personally.... I so much appreciate the product. You ROCK!
Thank you kindly sir. It's work to film it, but it also let's me relive the trip, so worth it for me. I'll hit you up next time we head out for a paddle, not sure if it will be this year though. Christmas is coming soon.
It was actually hard for me to watch. I don't have a script for these videos and I basically forgot I had that moment until after when I edited this video. I thought it was an important message to tell. Glad you liked it and thank you for the kind words.
@@Suluk46 you should keep the snippet on your phone in memory of what love truly is. Every man should see this. The story of caring for our parents isn’t told enough. They were there for years by our sides caring for us.
WOW! What an epic expedition! The water and the colors and the landscape look absolutely sublime! Ancient landscape .. wow wow wow Thank you for putting these videos together! I know the effort required for editing. Great job!
Thanks man, the scenery was wild for sure. Glad you liked it. It's fun filming these adventures, not just for others, but I also go back and watch them every ounce in a while. Brings back great memories.
What a amazing trip so far. That photo shoot in front of the falls was outstanding. Has Niagara Falls beat I think. Such a beautiful story about your Mom. I’m sure she is so proud and riding those wave trains right there with you❤️
Sorry for your loss. I can kinda relate to your story. My parents both died, several years apart, but both suddenly. My grandparents were, as a family all took care of them, but my grandpa in particular gave me a life lesson. We never got along at all when I was young, but with a little maturity, we ended up being great friends, and to this day, I’m so glad I got to know him a little, spend time together etc…
Thanks for the kind words and great story. You really put some work into watching the series. I appreciate it, this was probably the most incredible trip of my life.
Great edit and appreciate the vulnerability at the end. As a non-fulltime adventurer with a family I appreciate hearing a little about others struggles to juggle family and passion.
Thanks man. We all have obligations outside our passions. Family took priority over this trip last year, and always will. Rivers and canyons will always be there :)
Another amazing video. Glad u had some time to spend with your mom. I oost my mom a few years ago too. I spent as much time as I could driving diwn to see her as well. Its really tough to see a loved one pass away but so important to spend the last moments together. Incredible that u put this trip together solo. Thabks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing the story about your mom. I can relate to everything you said. I lost my mom earlier this year to cancer, very similar situation where she only had 2-3 months after being diagnosed. It was a celebration everyday at the hospital with family and friends visiting from around the globe to make her last days as memorable and comfortable as possible.
I'm sorry to hear that. It is tough for everyone, no matter what the circumstance is. I'm happy you were able to make some final memories with her. I will cherish mine.
I am imagining your Mom was looking over you as you and your sister did her! I am so sorry for your loss but it was a beautiful thing to be with her those couple months, having that time to spend with her. She must have been so happy to have you both so close. I thought the trip was going to be the highlight of this episode but it was actually the story about you and your family. Thanks for sharing. :) :)
That's so nice to hear, who knows what goes on afterwards....we will all find out eventually. I'm thankful everyone liked the story, I think it was an important message as we all get older. Have a good weekend.
Steve, great adventure and a nice tribute to your mom....she was along on your journey. We were the 3 engineers that ran into you in Baffin in 2018 and I am glad to see you are keeping up with your adventures. All the best, Jon, David, Uli.
Yes! Of course I remember you all. It has been a while since that trip and I hope you are all adventuring still. I know I am :) Are you three planning any big trips in the future?
@@Suluk46 Yes, thanks for sharing your heartfelt story about your Mom. Sending positive vibes for your back to heal 100% so you can continue your adventures for the next few decades! And hope to 'run' into you again on some northern trail one day! Cheers 🙂
Thanks David. It would be great to catch up. That trip to Baffin Island was a once in a lifetime as well. Glad you guys are still out there, your photos are incredible by the way.
When you said you were 200km north of the Arctic Circle I was like...is this guy stoned???!!!! Because I read the title as "Arizona Canyons" for some reason. haha....that place is amazing! Really was unaware this place existed.
Lol, the Wizard lives another day! I'm always cautious on these trips, not looking to win any awards :) Temps vary quite a bit. The first couple of days, very warm, probably approaching 20*C, then later got cold, maybe average 10*C to 15*C and around 0*C at night. Water was a different beast all together, pretty much freezing cold, hence my drysuit.
Hope you all enjoyed the video, more to come!

Thanks guys. It was a game time decision to keep that part in. But I think it's an important message. Looking forward to your next video.
Blood is thicker then water buddy. Glad you had a chance to spend quality time with your Mom before she passed. Everything else can wait.
Thank you man. It's time that I will never regret and the best decision of my life.
