- When the opportunity came to film a video of 20+ Abarth Puntos cropped up i was very excited. The Abarth Punto Collective invited me down for their Punto Abarth summer rally. Expect to see lots of Abarth Puntos including Evos, Essesse, Grand Sport and Scorpione cars who all turned up to this event. Lots of Accelerations and sounds from modified cars running 250bhp amongst the group. Enjoy!

Stef ABtv Hehe, the 595 and 695 look and sound great, that's just where the love ends for me. Would be great to try a punto though
595 and 124 are great but the main problem for me is the lack of space, so i hope that they make tipo hatchback abarth, that would be a proper car.
I think the Punto Abarths are better, it's an actual car you can use too, decent back seats and bigger boot 😂 I deffo want one as my next car 🙏
@@anthony_stevens i have a grande punto abarth and i fully agree, weirdest is, the punto abarth and 500/595's weight the same too, and you get extra hp on the punto's, my grande has about 180 hp and did 7.5ish 0/100 with glass roof too, and that with the big boot and actual 4 seats.

I sold it April 2014. Had so much fun in it. Took it to the 2013 Italian GP in Monza, over Bormio and Stelvio Passes. Faultless run. Used to attract a lot of positive attention. Rare now. Rarer in 2011. Car still looks good!
Mark Homer these cars are almost always owned by enthusiasts and tend to be very well loved and looked after. That'll mean many nigh on perfect examples in the future 👍😎

I had a 63 plate supersport 180 hp Punto ,it was a great car certainly more room than my 595 Comp ,great to look at even if it's an old design it has that timeless look about it as they still look great today .It is a shame they have not made a new version as we in the Uk love them .Great video Stef and looks like a great bunch of enthusiasts with you .

Pimbo Santos what upgrades have you done ? I have a 12 plate punto multiair turbo with airtec intercooler and induction waiting to remap it but not sure where to go, been told by most places 185bhp with what ive got or change the exhaust for a 200 cell sport cat and 3" pipe for 225bhp does that sound about right or have you changed more parts ? Cheers

Absolutely love it, and I love the Abarth too
Whereas the sporting is a more under the radar type, the Abarth is more in your face, but at least it looks hella good whilst doing it

got a 2006 punto grande with 65 hp but I still love it and I wish to buy me a punto abarth some day
Just got mine and I'm collecting some isnpiration for modding it. I've already planned out most of the visual modding, and the exhaust system, but I was unsure of what the engine can handle. After seeing this video where a bunch of them have more than 250 hp I am more than confident that my idea to push it to 200 isn't that unrealistic lol

I have an Evo Sporting, mapped to make the same power as the Abarth (165bhp, 180lb-ft), it's a great car, but I wish it had that sixth gear like the Abarth
And you're right, cruise control is great for chilling
I am surprised none of these Abarths have a dump valve on the turbo. I bought mine with a dump valve already fitted, and its incredibly loud. If you hit the throttle hard you hear a really loud sort of bang coming from the valve, releasing all the pressure. Gets people to turn their head everytime when you drive by.
The Steven my one has a dump valve on it. Was no footage of it dumping boost.

bro have you seen the urban cross abarth and the avventura abarth... they are punto abarth crossovers with higher ground clearance, roof rails and some body cladding... you get them here in india

nah 6th gear top gear has same ratio as 5th gear top ratio in a 5 box. its just so you can stay in the powerband its not for cruising

Love the looks of the Punto. Too bad Fiat is such a shitty brand. The Punto is registered as the most unsafe car to be in by EURO NCAP. Sticking 250 hp in a car that isn't safe with 130 hp isn't exactly a comforting idea.

TheDudeInTheRedHotHatch yeah that's more of a 'moving goalposts' thing. When the car came out it had the highest safety rating possible. The problem is that it has been marked down for criteria that have been introduced to the test since. Things like side airbags or hazard detection tech, that sort of thing. So the recent rating is very misleading and the car is in no way unsafe, not by a long shot. I've seen posts from members that have sadly written off their car, one or two have rolled them and the damage has been surprisingly minimal considering the accidents. These are very strong cars 👍😎
Steve Miller It had 3 stars at launch. If they want to keep selling a car new they should addapt it to reach safety standards. A 2011 Punto vs a 2011 Focus RS ... I know in ehich one I would rather be when things go wrong.
TheDudeInTheRedHotHatch my bad. I must have had the adult occupant rating in mind which was 5 stars out of five. The child occupant rating was 3 stars of 5, and pedestrian rating of 3 stars out of 4, so it still performed well and only lost marks for driver knee airbags and ISOfix front (whatever that is). So my point stands really, it's hardly an unsafe car, although obviously if things go south we can both agree we'd want to be in the safest/strongest car possible. But I think to suggest that putting 250+ bhp in a Punto is irresponsible in some way is a bit of a stretch. Many wouldn't bat an eyelid about putting more power in an older car that wouldn't perform nearly as well as a Punto in an ncap test. That's also discounting the fact that the Abarth has significantly upgraded brakes and handling which helps. But yeah, each to their own, my point is that these cars aren't fragile and more power is easily handled 👍😉
