This game came out 20 years ago in November 19, 2001 after the successful predecessor game known as WWF Smackdown! 2 Know Your Role from the original PlayStation console system. This third entry of the Smackdown game was hit on the PlayStation 2 for the first time ever, and have commentary in the game as well.
Can't say the said commentary was too on point though...infact, at times it's downright humorous. XD
Yeah, the commentary on this game was not well received. But the next Smackdown game, WWE Smackdown! Shut Your Mouth (PS2), they improved the commentary system so well. I don't even know why THQ and Yuke's Media Future Creators remove the commentary in WWE Smackdown! Here Comes the Pain (PS2), though. Also this game was the very last Smackdown game to feature the WWF logo before the name change in early May of 2002.
