Yeah ok the accents are a bit snide , but the more i watch the film ( always hard after such a classic book ) the more i somehow think the lads playin Carty and Elvis really did a great job . One big F**k up tho was Baby Milan who in the book was so menacing but in the film was somehow reminicent of Higgle Piggle from in" the night garden " Its nothing personal , anyone of the scals from our end cud have nailed it . All said tho i still luv the film
@DirtyyChimp Aye Tranmere fans.. you should get the book mate, its great goes into a bit more detail about the estates they come from off the Wirral and how they felt about Liverpool and the other clubs at the time, well at least fighting and fashion wise anyway. I think some of the characters in the film are composites as different people died in the film, I suppose they had to streamline it a bit. Well worth a read anyway.
Na not just Godden, the tall one with the black hair who says “what the fuck are you looking at” is also a Scouser, he played Dean “Deano” Boyle in Dream Team and he was in Rock n Rolla. Not sure if any of them were actually from Tranmere or Prenton or even anywhere on the Wirral. Most of them were from Manny or around there
Lol ordinary people wouldn’t dare, not with a notorious firm like that, and like 8-10 of them, some with knives. All they could do is ring the pigs and the firm will have gone by the time they arrive. This could only be stopped if another firm or some heads with guns were there, if it was real. Also this was set in the mid 80s so things were different then
Yeah in this scene Carty was justified, the guy he kicked in, Will, had previously assaulted and tried to force himself on Carty’s underage sister, and when Carty went to confront him he got knocked out and Will poured lager on him, so Carty went to see Elvis who got some of the Pack to help Carty deal with the nonce. The rest just did what hooligans do, but Will deserved it
Terrific scene from a very underrated film that deserved a shit load of those baftas.
the book is fuckin class! if your into the film, the book is like an 8 hour version of it. quality la.
There's a really nice Pub round the Corner called the Magazines.
One of the best scenes if you ask me! :p
Wish all friend groups where like this helping etocher instead of pissing there pants.
20 on to 3 an carrying blades with surprise on there side there bound to be up for it haha
@@redflag8970 Will did try to force himself onto Carty’s 14 or 15 year old sister though so what would you expect?
@@PBL187 haha nice one . Not my fave hoolie film a bit dark.
@@redflag8970 It is tbh
So this is Cartyville eh? This is where it all happens?
“just up the road eh”
“just up the road eh?”
These dudes are savage
The actor who plays Elvis should play Keith Moon in a film.
You should see him in Skins Rise. He’s a proper sicko in that
He's just been in Emmerdale .
Good film 📼 needs to be re done with a big budget etc, but it's very good as it is
Whats enough?

Disagree completely here, baby was casted perfectly, baby face but an altogether deranged individual and the actor who played him did a good job.

Real people. Still going most of them.
One of the real people a character was based on has a son who is a current professional footballer.
What was the song in the background when they were on the bus literally just before this????
Joy Division - Decades (Closer)
Great film don't get the credit it deserves

@a00440 Only Godden is actualy played by someone from round here. Elvis' Actor is pretty good though!

What's happening here
Kind of funny at the same time though.

😂 pretty sure real Tranmere fans hate Liverpool and Everton and possibly any big club

He raped his, Sister. If I remember rightly.
I was in this Firm.....me and Ian McCulloch 👍

Best badass scene ever
Borring
in the book it's far more detailed and the violence is much uglier
Did Elvis even have a job or he just sat around all day lol
utter bollocks. like nobody would stop this

Its based on a real incident and it was far worse than this.
Up the Boro
are they tranmere fans?
@Boris The Blade its tranmere rovers
@Boris The Blade theyre in league 2 which is the 4th division of English football
It was also set in the mid 80’s I think
Based on them.
As if those spotty youths would be able to do that.
A_Wise_Young_Man
From experience, it’s always the little spotty fuckers who are the most viscous , most nasty, .
Under estimating people is your first mistake
Deimos i love English folk lets all be friends 🏴🇮🇪🏴
eaglelegend1 you know... son
@Incog Nito dont call your self that
Is this a story about actors pretending to be low life scum?
If so, why not make sure the main characters are depicted as such?
have you even watched the film? did you consider the reason this happened in the scene?

Disturbing to watch!
This film is clearly aimed at an audience with a mental age of twelve or below.
Glad you enjoyed it
Good one!
No way those guys wouldnt fight back at all. What a lot of utter shite
overestimate Rugby players
Watch the film😂
