The problem with these chains is that they are very hit or miss depending on location. I worked at a chipotle & can vouch for the freshness of their ingredients. Freezers don’t exist at chipotle, everything is prepped that morning. The operations are really good. At the end of the day, the way everything is prepped, seasoned & cooked comes down to the staff. I would say overall chipotle is better just because of how fresh their ingredients are. Of course there are some locations that suck.
All of them in the DFW suck. I’ve been eatin there 20 years and it’s just terrible. Every other bite is fat. The rice is crunchy and inedible frequently they need QC BADLY HERE

I’ve been a GM at Chipotle and QDoba. But I have to say that Chipotle is far superior. Chipotle has to make their food fresh everyday. QDoba has a carryover for 3 days. Also Chipotle has more quality people that they hire for higher standards. The issue with Chipotle is that they have to hand cut everything and prep everything for that day so the items can run out. Both are decent but Chipotle is far superior

Chipotle throws away all their food at the end of the day so that's why they get more strict with portions because they always want to be fresh. Also Chipotle uses all organic food. I think this is a case by case scenario. The chipotle here is hella under seasoned and meat never taste fresh while the qdoba here is almost always on point. Plus the qdoba here gives you free tortialla, guac, queso, and burrito bowls are bigger.
I love Chipotle but Qdoba is superior for my needs - a custom salad. You can get tons of freebies on the side to really augment the experience, including FREE GUAC AND FREE QUESO =)
You messed up not getting the signature tacos at Qdoba. Those things are great, especially the two-timer. That soft and crunch shell with the queso in the middle is amazing with that pork
Imo, Qdoba excels with their quesadillas, sauces, and different varieties of menu items. In these 3 areas, they blow Chipotle out of the water! But because of the quality and freshness of the ingredients at Chipotle, I guess that's what gives them the edge.

But overall when comparing the number of good experiences, I would say Chipotle, just find a good location and stick with that one.

My local one gives the bare minimum of ingredients for the salads, but everyone I visited outside my neighborhood are the bomb. Can’t say enough about the barbaco it’s the bomb.
