I never realized this song was on Leisure. I knew it well from the Trainspotting soundtrack... anyway, one of my absolute favorite Blur songs (or which there are dozens I love but this is GODLY) but I always wondered why it sounded so... unlike Blur... well, here it is, the BLURSOUNDING demo. Love this. Thanks so much for posting this!!
This was the song that inspired Coldplay's "Politik" (along with 9/11 (the event)). You can hear the similarity from 1:36 - 1:40 , 3:21 -3:26 , and also from 4:26 - 4:30...
@@luzhizui Nah. In 1989 Blur started as Seymour and was able to record demos because Damon worked for a studio and got free studio time after hours. Later that year they got signed to Food Records, who asked them to change their name from a list - they chose Blur.
This reminds me of a debut album Gorillaz song, particularly because of Damon's tone and the dreary undertones of the music.

Version from "Leisure" album more appeals to me, but this is also great.
Likewise.

How did this inspire 9/11?
@@sendersnivy6698 This song and 911 inspired it
@@sendersnivy6698 Haha I thought Coldplay were bad, but that *that* bad.
My dad was there when they took that picture :')
he is lucky
Please tell how that came about.
@@johnharvey4448 He's an orange.
I like this way more than the actual song
Included in the fanclub single: "Sing (To Me)"
Are they all trying to eat oranges in one bite?
Reference to a classic Ian Brown (Stone Roses) picture I believe.
Fantastic song.
Still the best ❤
This is gold!!!
Thank you for uploading this.
Wow. The very beginnings
awesome!!! grat job!!! do you have it on mp3?? if you have it please tell me
I don't think this is a 'demo'. It's the Seymour version.
It’s called a demo on the fan club single release, all the Seymour songs are demos
@@mellowyellow6572 OK. I guess Seymour never had a record contract?
