@@LangkeeLongkee| As a fellow experiencer of the Triple-A (among other things) I relate to your plight! As for Powder, I'd say it runs deeper than anxiety and codependency. If I had to guess, I'd say she's suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder. It's defined by extreme fear of (imagined) abandonment, tumultuous relationships with others, heightened emotional reactions, and a distorted sense of self. Flipping between "I HATE YOU" and "I LOVE YOU" with Silco and Vi is a clear sign, as well as her tendency to do something blindly destructive in moments of extreme emotion.
@@PotatoPatatoVonSpudsworth well I was specifically talking about her in act 1, and children that small cannot be understood to have personality disorders. But people underestimate how difficult it is to say exactly what disorder Jinx may have. I am no professional but I'm a psychology major, a senior. I've spoken to two other people about this before, a masters student and an actual practicing counselor, and they both agreed it's not that easy to just say Borderline or a Schizo-affective disorder or whatever. I'm not denying she had traits of that, I know that, but wasn't relevant to what I was talking about.
He IS a snake, and I feel like that's how he started the interaction with that sickeningly sweet "Hello...little girl." But when she leaps onto him and he sees she's been betrayed and abandoned as well you can see it in his eyes, there seems to be genuine empathy or at least some sort of twisted sympathy. He knows what it feels like to be abandoned and betrayed by those closest to us. It would've been far easier and safer to just take her out then and there, but to extend a hand and cradle her to him like a child...I don't feel like that bit was an act. He genuinely understands, probably better than anyone, what she's feeling, and it's like two lost and broken souls finding each other. That one of the kindest and most human gestures can come from one of the cruelest and most inhuman people is shocking, and the way he interacts with her for the rest of the series is absolutely fascinating.
Yeah, he definitely just wanted to know where Vi was. No doubt he was planning on killing Powder as soon as he found out. So that was a definite empathy moment when he decided to take her in. Doubt it was sympathy, the man either is incapable of it or chooses to suppress it. Hell, he seems to suppress his empathy too, but it clearly exists somewhere under that cold exterior.
@@kenjutsukata1o1 For sure, Jinx was his weak spot. There is a REALLY interesting take on the relationship between Jinx an Silco by a therapist on youtube. It's a fascinating break down of the character and how well the studio got those emotions across. I would speak more about Silco's interactions but they would all be paraphrasing that video so rather than take credit for ideas that are not my own, definitely check it out. They go by Georgia Dow on youtube. There are spoilers for the last episodes so fair warning there.
The beauty of Silco's character is that he had no intention of adopting Powder at the end, he was going to kill her after he got the information he needed. But once he realised that Powder had been 'betrayed' by her sister, something inside him genuinely empathised with her, he knows what it's like to be betrayed because of his history with Vander. He is absolutely a snake, but this was one instance of actual humanity from him. You can see the look of shock when Powder hugs him, he looks at Vander as he processes what she's saying and then after a pause he hugs her back - genuinely trying to comfort her. He's a truly wonderful villain.
I really like that scene where Powder is left alone crying, tearing things up and hitting herself in the head. I don't think I've ever seen such a raw depiction of a child having a mental breakdown.
*Elijah reacting to True Colors*: "Holy sh*t this is the first time I've cried this hard, for a show!" Episode 3 of Arcane: And it certainly won't be the last. 😏
Alright. Initiation is over. Now the real show can start. Better buckle up Buttercup. I didn’t realize I’d signed up for an Art Appreciation class. Lol On a more serious note, I like that they showed that Vi just needed a moment to herself to process and grieve for the family members she’d just lost, and her sister inadvertently being the cause. She was emotionally destroyed and lashed out at her sister so she removed herself from the equation so she wouldn’t do it again, even still keeping Powder in her line of sight. I can’t even imagine trying to process all that as a teen, let alone as a child like Powder. Honestly it’s just an all around tragedy from both sides. Let’s also just give Mia Sinclair Jenness, Powder’s VA, a big round of applause. That was some stellar acting during both of Powder’s breakdowns. That second one though… whew boy.
11:30 Elijah: "Can I impress you?" That legit almost made me do a spit take with my tea!! Instead, I laughed for a solid minute as I was choking on it, so thanks a bunch for that! Seriously, Mel is gorgeous, and I do not fault you for how hard you be..."appreciating the art" ;)
14:00 This scene hits me so goddamn hard every time. I know exactly how she feels. That is me when I was her age. I remember having episodes like that. Hurting myself, screaming, breaking things, and, worst of all, the hate I had for myself in those moments because of how worthless I thought I was. I've been dealing with PTSD since about 8 years old, but I wasn't diagnosed until 23. Point is: I don't care how young you are, if you're having problems like these, speak up and get help. Don't try to bury it hoping it will go away, or hide it from people you know you can trust. And, whether you have people in your life like that or not, talk to a doctor. Any kind of medical doctor will do, they will help you find the resources you need. If you don't want parents or guardians knowing, just walk into a doctor's office, clinic, or hospital and ask for help. They will, even if you've gotta sit in the waiting room for a bit. HIPPA laws protect your confidentiality in most cases, though I would clarify things with the doctor you speak with. I'm not 100% sure it covers everything in the case of minors, but you will be protected in cases of abuse. Don't wait, get help. Fear of speaking up about my problems cost me a decade of my life that I can never get back. Don't let it cost you the same. Every goddamn second we have in this world is precious, and so are you.
As difficult as this episode is to watch, I still love it. Genuinely one of the greatest episodes of television I've EVER seen. Edit: Also, don't count Silco's approach toward Powder out just yet.
Emotional parts aside, I saw this one compilation of every moment of Viktor and Jayce and the person pointed out that when Mel caught them, Viktor's excuse was to sneak Jayce into his room and now I can never look at that scene the same way again 😂 Same goes for Elijah totally not thirsting over Mel but admiring the 'art'
13:53 This is called abandonment issues, first her parents "abandoned" her,now her sister, the person Powder "chose" and trusts most just told her shes not ready(in Powders head Vi just told her shes useless) and to stay there alone and Powder doesnt even know if Vi will come back alive.
Powder has abandonment issues probably brought on by the loss of her parents at such a young age there may also be more to it. So vi is the person she is super attached to so when vi tells her she's not ready she doesn't understand that as her big sister trying to protect her. She just feels like she's being abandoned. And that's the same when vi has to go and cool down. And the fact that she doesn't make it back will absolutely make this worse
this is how you do react, pause the video and speak, this shows that you are really seeing everything, congratulations for the respect to this masterpiece of animation

Riding the emotional roller-coaster that is this episode with you made me feel like I was watching it again for the first time! It just starts swinging and never stops. Man. Also, I watched Arcane when it first came out and because it dropped in three episode chunks we had to wait a WEEK to see the fallout and it was borderline torture, haha.
Elijah represents all of us fans that… “appreciate the art” of this series. The gay panic is real, everyone! Edit: so, I just saw Elijah saying “Back off” to Jayce and… yep, if you saw ep 5 you know what I’m talking about lmao
Wow... that's lots of dead kids. Yes, there's Mylo and Claggor. And then we remember that - when you think about it - Deckard was meant to be more or less around Vi, Mylo and Claggor's age as well. Dang... did the show just kill _three_ children in one episode?!! 😅😅
I think it's good to notice how at the end, Silco understands how Powder feels. She feels betrayed by her sister, just as he felt betrayed by his "brother". While he is taking advantage of her emotional breakdown, I do believe he's genuine about wanting to help her "show them all" Great reaction!!
God the first time I watched this episode I was CHEERING when the monkey bomb went off. I was like "yes!! Powder did a good!!" Yeah that cheering was VERY abruptly cut off.
That's the frustrating thing! Everyone here did the right thing, or at least close enough to the right thing, and it still went SO. FUCKING. WRONG. BECAUSE OF IT.
At long last, the base violence necessary to make you realise that a kid being stabbed by a blue lizard and a scrawny witchling getting bullied by his uncle are child's play. I enjoyed the show and watched several reactors react to it. Surprisingly you are one of the very few who saw a 7 year old girl try to put an explosive device into a stuffed animal by saying "yeah that seems like a bad idea". Most people seemed in full support of the very young child lobbing grenades.
I love this series so much. But you know it's been out all this time and because of just how absolutely intense and emotionally gripping it is, I haven't finished watch the series. I get up the sheer will to watch an episode once maybe every few days, because i need that long at least to recover from the previous one. And that's not a bad thing to me. That's a very good thing. The show doesn't pull any punches. It hits you right in the face, in the feels, it hits you everywhere and it makes you want more. It makes you need more. You wind up caring so much about these people that you have to know what happens next no matter how bad things get. It's absolutely amazing.
I love the final scene. I’ve does probably the most wise thing she could do in that situation, removes herself so she doesn’t do anything more rash. Granted, after doing probably the least wise thing possible. (Fun fact when avo stands up you can see Powder cower because she thinks she’s about to be hit again) but as she’s about to return to save her sister she’s “saved” by Marcus. I love how everything in this show is progressed because of character in the best possible way
If she's already freacking out about Mel, I honestly can't wait to see her reaction to older Vi lmaoo now THAT my friend, will give you the biggest gay panic ever! Lol
Just found your channel today and binged your arcane reactions. Thank you so much for not being one of those people who says, "oh powder is trash" cause like yes her actions resulted in a horrible tragedy but she only had good intentions. Also Vi's reaction was a human one--she was also just through a whole trauma and she reacted in a human way. A lot of people place a lot of hate on Vi for that. I mean...it broke my heart to pieces when she punched Powder but like...I get it. And now powder is just left there, holding all that guilt and having Vi confirm every negative thing anyone had said about her, now feeling abandoned by the only person she had left she clung to Silco because she needed someone. And Silco seeing himself in powder and understanding her pain as the same pain he felt when Vander betrayed him, decides to take Powder in. This show is so well written!
I have to point out that yours is the first reaction video I watched in which Powder’s attempting to help was seen with caution and a bad feeling right from the start. All the others (including myself when I first watched the series) were hopeful she would finally save the day. You are very quick, intuitive and good at spotting details. It’s been a blast to watch your videos, thanks so much ☺️
I remember first seeing this I was shocked by how hard it was and heartbreaking. It really was sad seeing this and Vi hitting Powder. If you think this is dark... just wait for the other acts especially the last episode. Don't forget that Silco sees Powder as his daughter when they both bonded that they have no sibling
these episodes were launched in batches of 3, so resting after every third episode is a good call Also to reiterate the suggestion Baoser made in another video: You should watch Ep. 5 with cupcakes at hand.
Based on Elijah’s reaction to this entire episode, I can’t tell if she’s going to love or hate Act II, because on one hand there’s a lot of awesome gay moments but on the other hand….
I really love Silco's voice, the actor did a wonderful job. He has just enough of that deep and unsettling raspyness to his voice to sound intimidating, while still managing to sound like someone you'd want to read a bedtime story or get comfort from.
It was supposed to be a sad moment, but I laughed so hard when she dropped her fidget toy. And btw sorry that it broke, I know it sucks when it breaks, my stress ball exploded last week and I am still dealing with its absence
favorite part of the episode is absolutely the explosion. I love how many times they went over the same scene so we could see how ALL the different parties were affected by it
This whole reaction was great, elijah appreciating the art and character of mel, (can't wait for her to see act 2 vi), shipping jayce and viktor the ship name is jayvik btw I think, and then the whole everyone dies, this episode is a masterpiece
... You ever had those moments, where you want to say "I told you so," but you don't because it would be rude?... Thats this video,"hell this EPISODE" in a nutshell
so to recap for you, milo and Clagor died in the rubble, Vander advised them to not fight, to stay safe, and even when they didn't listen he still tried to keep them safe. Silco now takes care of powder. Sevika has no arm, the guy that drank shimmer twice is dead. Singed(the scientist in Silkos basement) has his skin burned. (at this point) we don't know what's up with Ecko. Vi is taken by Marcus (just like Vander said "the council needs their pound of flesh" aka the people responsible for the laboratory explosion) and so she is in jail and Marcus is awarded for solving that out. the council allows Jace to advance the hextech technology (probably because they are greedy and understand that this possible technology is the first of its kind in the world) And to confirm your guessing, it's gonna be a time jump. I would describe this show as character origin stories, and these 3 episodes are the origin stories to those origin stories in a way.
Your reaction is gold. Honestly some of the best reaction I’ve seen to arcane. It makes me feel like the first time I watched it. Also yes, Mel is Art. First time she showed on screen I paused it for a good 5 mins and just STARED. I took a picture of her and sent it to my brother and said “I just found my new favorite show.” 😂🤣 That being said this show does an excellent job portraying it women characters. They all look different, act different, the personality and the amount of buff woman makes my gay heart squeal. Prepare yourself for the next episode, it’s definitely an art class.
Elijah just felt EVERY emotion at once and I don't blame her I was the exact same way I told you girl you needed tissues, and it just gets even more emotional from here just wait until the next episodes because they get INSANE! Anyways I can't wait for more content from you and I hope that you are doing well and staying safe and healthy Elijah! P.S. Sorry about your fidget cube!
I watched the first three episodes when they were the only ones available, and I spent the entire week thinking about what I'd watched. It's been a LONG time since a show stuck with me long after watching it, and I'm glad I didn't have the option of moving straight to the next episode. Really let things stew and reel while I waited to see what happened next.
In a show full of memorable and haunting moments i think one of the images permanently etched on my brain is the look on Vi's face after she hits Powder. I think an actor would struggle to portray such an amazing mix of emotions that well, the fact that we can see Vi struggling with all those conflicting emotions in animation is mind-blowing. Love your reactions :) they are hands down the best i've ever seen.
I honestly blame the whole family for Powder snapping. Mylo and Klagger made her feel weak & useless, Vander clearly favored Vi (either because he saw himself in her or because her being older meant she could support the family) and didn't have a clue how to handle a child whose parents died when she was so young she probably barely remembers them. Vi did things as right as a hothead teenagers who lives in the slumps could but that definitely wasn't enough to fix Powder's problems

Exactly
Girl, i'm gay and even i am simping for Mel, that woman literally looks like a godess in human form
"I am heartbroken and in just general pain" every single Arcane Act finale in a nutshell
I really like that scene where Powder is left alone crying, tearing things up and hitting herself in the head. I don't think I've ever seen such a raw depiction of a child having a mental breakdown.
In my case, that's how I stop myself from crying.
It's very accurate
*Elijah reacting to True Colors*: "Holy sh*t this is the first time I've cried this hard, for a show!"
Episode 3 of Arcane: And it certainly won't be the last. 😏

Alright. Initiation is over. Now the real show can start. Better buckle up Buttercup.
I didn’t realize I’d signed up for an Art Appreciation class. Lol
On a more serious note, I like that they showed that Vi just needed a moment to herself to process and grieve for the family members she’d just lost, and her sister inadvertently being the cause.
11:30 Elijah: "Can I impress you?"
That legit almost made me do a spit take with my tea!! Instead, I laughed for a solid minute as I was choking on it, so thanks a bunch for that! Seriously, Mel is gorgeous, and I do not fault you for how hard you be..."appreciating the art" ;)
How you think she's going to react to Mama Maderda?
@jasenjacobs1365 Admittedly, on my first watch of the show, that was who I MAINLY simped for lmao
**EMOTIONAL DAMAGE** is the perfect way to describe this episode lol
Elijah's strategy : shipping Jayce and Viktor so she can keep Mel for herself. Did I say Mel ? I meant the art....
Oh she is a TRUE tactician. I admire that level of foresight
As a gay guy, even I can appreciate that Mel Medarda is flippin gorgeous. I definitely appreciate THE ART.
you are so right.
As a straight guy with a thing for legs, the DRESS
No-matter one's sexuality, aesthetic beauty can always be appreciated!

Ever since she joked about VI’s villain origin story in episode 1 I was waiting for her to realize she said it about the wrong sister!
13:53 This is called abandonment issues, first her parents "abandoned" her,now her sister, the person Powder "chose" and trusts most just told her shes not ready(in Powders head Vi just told her shes useless) and to stay there alone and Powder doesnt even know if Vi will come back alive.
Viktor: this is isn't the bedroom
Me: why were you going to the bedroom? 😏😏
To be honnest, the Mel simping is fucking relatable.
elijah: *suffering*
elijah after 2 minutes: anyways, the *art*
I'm sure they'll be plenty of "art" appreciation in the future episodes as well.
I'm just gonna pretend this entire episode was just Elijah admiring the ..."✨art ✨" (because honestly same tho) and *nothing else happened*
The worse death in this reaction was Elijah’s fidget cube
May it rest in peace. 🙏😔
Vi accidentally created a masterpiece of a Villain. eventho I don't even want to call Powder a Villain 😭. she just needs Help, therapy and a lot of Loves and Hugs
Mental health 0
While I also don't see her as a villain, don't all good villains just need that too haha
She’s an antihero
Elijah in the saddest voice possible: "I dropped my fidget cube 🥺"
this episode is a tragic story of Elijah and her fidget cube😭amazing reaction video, it was so fascinating to watch, as always!! literally cant wait to watch the next episodes with NSAF, she makes it even more interesting even though ive seen the show already
I love how Viktor’s instant cover up was basically him trying to sneak Jayce into his bedroom 😭 like bruh had that READY. 😂
You could say...it comes out swinging, and we block with our face ;)
The voice acting in the end was phenomenal - ly heartbreaking
While he is taking advantage of her emotional breakdown, I do believe he's genuine about wanting to help her "show them all"
Great reaction!!
God the first time I watched this episode I was CHEERING when the monkey bomb went off. I was like "yes!! Powder did a good!!"
Yeah that cheering was VERY abruptly cut off.
Marcus said "He'll kill you if he hears you" as he chloroforms Vi and drags her away in case some of you didn't understand what he said.
That's the frustrating thing! Everyone here did the right thing, or at least close enough to the right thing, and it still went SO. FUCKING. WRONG. BECAUSE OF IT.
@@raptorofwar4415 YES exactly, even if Marcs didn't try to protect Vi, it still could have turned out horribly
At long last, the base violence necessary to make you realise that a kid being stabbed by a blue lizard and a scrawny witchling getting bullied by his uncle are child's play.

Is the scrawny witchling Harry Potte? If it’s not, what character is it?
@@marcfals2449 No it's Hunter from the owl house, because I remember her getting very upset over how Hunter was mortified at the idea of failing his uncle

Silco from here on out is such an amazing villain. And there will be some good "art" for you to gush over that I am very excited to watch.
I've watched this episode in about 2 dozen reactions. It kills me every time.
I know it wasn't supposed be funny and I know I wasn't supposed to laugh but everytime Elijah made mention of it not getting worse I immediately thought, oh sweetie it's not even the end of the episode yet lol. Yay cannot wait until the next one.
I love how everything in this show is progressed because of character in the best possible way
"I need a minute" *proceeds to leans back into oblivion*
Guys I think Elijah appreciates the art.
"This is art. When you hear the buzzer, stare at the art."

If she's already freacking out about Mel, I honestly can't wait to see her reaction to older Vi lmaoo now THAT my friend, will give you the biggest gay panic ever! Lol
For real though 😍😍🤤😩
And now we wait for Elijah reactions of the Piltover's Finest scenes 👀
It’s been a blast to watch your videos, thanks so much ☺️
finally, the happiest episode of arcane !!!!

@@roo1014 It is now
I remember first seeing this I was shocked by how hard it was and heartbreaking. It really was sad seeing this and Vi hitting Powder. If you think this is dark... just wait for the other acts especially the last episode. Don't forget that Silco sees Powder as his daughter when they both bonded that they have no sibling
22:23 Elijah: This shit ain't even over yet. What else could you possibly do to me?
Arcane Writers: *maniacal laughter*
these episodes were launched in batches of 3, so resting after every third episode is a good call
Also to reiterate the suggestion Baoser made in another video:
You should watch Ep. 5 with cupcakes at hand.
Based on Elijah’s reaction to this entire episode, I can’t tell if she’s going to love or hate Act II, because on one hand there’s a lot of awesome gay moments but on the other hand….
I realized it was episode 3 and did a quick prayer for you Elijah
The Mel love is highly relatable 💕
I really love Silco's voice, the actor did a wonderful job. He has just enough of that deep and unsettling raspyness to his voice to sound intimidating, while still managing to sound like someone you'd want to read a bedtime story or get comfort from.
It was supposed to be a sad moment, but I laughed so hard when she dropped her fidget toy. And btw sorry that it broke, I know it sucks when it breaks, my stress ball exploded last week and I am still dealing with its absence
The comedic timing of that was something else
favorite part of the episode is absolutely the explosion. I love how many times they went over the same scene so we could see how ALL the different parties were affected by it
Trust me, this is just the beginning. You may shed more tears or scream, but it's worth it😌
27:39 reference to "The Fallen Angel" painting by Alexandre Cabanel
Elijah: “No please don’t kill off vander in this episode”

I feel you girl! I too have an appreciation for *art*
You gotta love how it's a whole episode of bad to worse all the way through.
22:22 I damn near screamed my head off "WHY WOULD YOU ASK THAT!?!?"
This whole reaction was great, elijah appreciating the art and character of mel, (can't wait for her to see act 2 vi), shipping jayce and viktor the ship name is jayvik btw I think, and then the whole everyone dies, this episode is a masterpiece
Elijah: oh...wow... Art
... You ever had those moments, where you want to say "I told you so,"
but you don't because it would be rude?...
Thats this video,"hell this EPISODE" in a nutshell
You are gonna love and cry for Silco by the end of the season
i’ve watched a lot of arcane reactions and you’re the first one i’ve seen who had the appropriate amount of dread for powder’s bomb plan
You handled the roller coaster of feels really well. Totally looking forward to more.
so to recap for you, milo and Clagor died in the rubble, Vander advised them to not fight, to stay safe, and even when they didn't listen he still tried to keep them safe. Silco now takes care of powder. Sevika has no arm, the guy that drank shimmer twice is dead. Singed(the scientist in Silkos basement) has his skin burned. (at this point) we don't know what's up with Ecko. Vi is taken by Marcus (just like Vander said "the council needs their pound of flesh" aka the people responsible for the laboratory explosion) and so she is in jail and Marcus is awarded for solving that out. the council allows Jace to advance the hextech technology (probably because they are greedy and understand that this possible technology is the first of its kind in the world)
And to confirm your guessing, it's gonna be a time jump. I would describe this show as character origin stories, and these 3 episodes are the origin stories to those origin stories in a way.
12:50 I love how you're rightfully afraid.... _for Powder_
All the while she's not really the person you should be worrying about
This episode broke my heart, watching again still hurts the same. Elijah's reaction to Vi clapping Jinx was so spot on though
That has to be the bravest, toughest bartender I've ever seen.
Really let things stew and reel while I waited to see what happened next.
best reaction I've seen so far, keep it up girl! can't wait to see your reaction to act 2
Vi did things as right as a hothead teenagers who lives in the slumps could but that definitely wasn't enough to fix Powder's problems
im rewatching this reaction series and it makes me so happy every time elijah jams to the intro 😂 it’s so relatable
Gay moment : Yes let's admire the art. Yes the amazing art.
