Hey Scottie, cheers from Brazil man, that's a nice video to learn how to flick.
We're just starting things here and would be very nice (if possible) to have some drills to learn and practice roundnet, I know it's not easy to create and edit a video but would be very nice.
Congrats a lot for the content man, it's really helpful

Hey man! Thanks for the love and message!
My aim with this channel is to release more drills soon, but I want to focus on the theory first before showing the practical, because practical is sub-optimal without the theory 😊
There are currently a lot of drills on my Patreon page as well as some other coaching content. Over the next 2 years I will have hopefully released all the theory and practical drills on this RUclips channel :)

@@RoundnetCoachingSB Thanks a lot for the reply, I didn't know you had a Patreon, I'll definitely take a look into that, love the way you're teaching theory and I want to get better at Roundnet.
Hope you can get done with your plan of content here on RUclips, will be here cheering for you.

      @@lucasfernandescavalcante2528 I appreciate you!
I try not to ‘push’ it too much, but I have private Instagram account connected to a Patreon account ( www.patreon.com/scottbeeksroundnetcoach ) where I share more of these types of videos and drills in return for small amount of money (€5 a month) that goes to my Roundnet endeavours (travels, food, paying editors to help edit me with these videos etc) 😊

Lovely stuff as always! I’d actually say that in some cases people might get more power from a backhand than a regular hit, but then they’re not really doing the basic flick that can be disguised but more like a full on backhand boom that is easier to read.
I just noticed this as my background is in disc golf so there’s thousands of hours repetition in certain backhand body mechanics that makes my backhand strong.

@@Kuutti_Roundnet so it’s key to understand a flick = over the net hit, backhand hit = off net hit
Although you may have more more power now with a backhand when set off net, you have a greater maximum power output with your left hand if the numbers of hours practiced were equal
Jonah and I actually did a 2 min section on this, but we decided to edit it out to not make the video too long and keep it just about flicking for now 😄

Great video as always Scott. One key thing that I think is missing that Preston talks about on his coaching channel is letting the ball roll from the base of your palm to your fingertips to generate more spin on the ball and keep it low. What do you think?

      Hey Ezra, thank you!
These details were covered in the ‘how to hit video’ and I didn’t want to repeat everything, but instead primarily focus on the differences so I left out the contact point on the hand, and viewing the ball like a face (ear, mouth, head etc) and those things just like the follow through stay consistent throughout the regular form, or flicking form😊
