I was on the same crossing as you guys. The 1920s night was so much fun. Me and my family got to stay on a bit longer because we continued on to Hamburg

Oh a Godiva afternoon tea! That's a must do :) I hope to one day lol I also want to see the planetarium . Queen Mary is on my bucket list.
Yes! Didn't get to on the QM2, but we're definitely trying Godiva afternoon tea next time on a Cunard voyage 🙂

Thank you so much for this! I'm from outside of Philadelphia in the US, and during a trip to LA in 2019, booked a stay in the Queen Mary hotel in Long Beach. It was then that I put a transatlantic crossing on the QM2 on my bucket list, and started saving up for it. Of course, life and the pandemic got in the way, but I am booked on an Eastbound crossing in December. I decided to fly to the UK, visit a couple of friends, then return on the QM2. I may be nuts, but I'm hoping to experience at least one night of angry seas after seeing some videos of her. Can't wait!

I travel a lot on her. You are very likely to have a few days of angry seas at that time of year. It’s always memorable sailing back into New York and seeing the city slowly wake up as you arrive. Enjoy your time in the Uk.

It’s not a cruise ship but the last ocean liner.
We were looking at a Cunard cruise from Yokohama to Los Angeles in 2019 as the final week of a 4-5 week trip to Singapore and the Philippines. The issue is whether we wanted to have to cart a lot of additional luggage around with formal clothing that we would not wear until the final week. I will admit that it does look like a great trip with a lot of interesting activities.
Yes that's definitely a concern. It does help that you can do laundries for free too, plus you can buy the formal wear on board too- bring a souvenir jacket home 😏

There was no G32 on the original Queen Mary. The name came from the building yard's hull number for Queen Mary 2. Otherwise stellar job.

The smallest ship I have ever cruised on had 6 bars and the largest 11
The 6 bar ship served 600 passengers while the 11 bar served 2500

Honestly it may be a bit mean but seeing the interior of Queen Mary 2 after knowing the interior of Titanic, Olympic and Britannic feels like going to eat at McDonald's after eating at Buckingham Palace.
