I believe that when we leave a place a part of it goes with us and part of us remains. Go anywhere in these halls, when it is quiet and just listen. After a while you will hear the echoes of all of our conversations, every thought and word we've exchanged. Long after we are gone, our voices will linger in these walls for as long as this place remains. But I will admit that the part of me that going will very much miss the part of you that is staying.

And I forgot to add that it also included it's own soundtrack from Christopher Franke and I once read in a preview that it was being produced and filmed like a TV movie, like 'A Call To Arms'. There's 90 mins worth of video footage shot specifically for the game. And none of it has ever been released, it sits in a warehouse somewhere. Parts of the soundtrack were eventually released. A shame, imagine what they might be able to do with it now if a studio like Volition had their hands on it? Wow!

The B5 story ark was first worked out in 1988 and MJS spent years taking the idea around diffrent studios. Then out of the blue the star trek people come up with the idea for DS9. When the B5 stary ark really kicked it DS9 started to do the same. The diffrence. B5 new where it was going. DS9 made it up as they went along.

To begin with I am a fan of Bab 5, Star trek, and star wars.
But I must point out that DS9 was created when JMS pitched the B5 idea that he had been working on since 1988 to foundation. JMS quickly left once he was horrified on how foundation took all the work that was done and turned it into a ST sequel. So he left and got funding elsewhere. This way we got two great shows off the same pitch. Made me happy :)

@Usul573 Babylon 5 doesn't need any re-imagining because the myth of Babylon 5 is great as it is, but if they do decide to make the movie, I think they should only concentrate on the rise and fall of Londo Mollari, the Shadow war, and the mission to bring down President Clark. I also like to see the story arc of Commander Jeffrey Sinclair the way it was originally intended.

@Antenox Regarding G'Kar, after the actress who played Na'Toth was written out (again), JMS toyed with the idea of making G'Kar's aide into a "Murphy Brown's secretary" kind of role where you'd have a series of aides, each eventually coming to unfortunate ends (like G'Kar's original aide Ko'Dath). Eventually he decided not to do this and decided he liked the idea of G'Kar essentially being alone much of the time (especially after the fall of Narn).

This was a great intro, but the movie itself could've been so much more. Anyone who watched this movie who hadn't seen B5 would've been like "Who's narrating? Who were all those other people at the beginning?" It seemed to be a plug for the series more than its own movie. They could've explored other stuff too. Anyone who's watched the show, especially the 4th season, will recall that Ivanova left B5 thinking that Garibaldi was a traitor! Her last words about him were "I want that son of a bitch shot on sight." They could've done a short story where they patched things up, instead of leaving it unresolved the way they did. Not a terrible movie, but too many missed opportunities.

Imo, it's great that they didnt spoonfeed just to 'target new audiences'. While that might be a priority for you, there's no point in trying to do that with a series that ran for 100+ episodes and a couple movies, and it would have been both deeply impractical in a storytelling sense, and boring as hell to existing fans. Too many franchises try doing that, and it ends up being a cheap snoozefest.

If Star Trek and The X-Files are big screen worthy than why not one of the best sci-fi series ever made and winner of two Hugo awards back to back should get the feature film treatment. They should make the movie the same way that Peter Jackson did with Lord Of The Rings and with the special effects we have today it will be mind blowing.

That game, Babylon5: Into The Fire, was never released. Sierra was supposed to release it. When Sierra went under, a division split off and there was an effort to get it finished in a new studio but then WB wouldn't release the assets...then they would but 'Sector14', the studio, couldn't get enough funding, so it was dropped. There's TONS of B5 footage made just for the game that people will NEVER see and I'm STILL mad about it! It would have been an amazing space combat simulator...

I reckon there will be a fan remake of the effects one day. But it's a shame the studio doesn't fund it now. The story and acting were (almost always) superb and shot on 35mm. Updated and reimagined fx shots would bring the series back to a whole new generation. I don't need a reimagined post-GOT and Battlestar 'edgy' version where Garibaldi is a pedophile, Ivanova self-harms and Bester is transgender. No thanks. Updating the fx would be cheap compared to a remake and i bet it would net the studio $$$.

I love this intro, but I always think that Ivanova and Zack should have been in it, too.

A remake of the show is in progress, for better and more stunning graphics and effects. The first series are planned for spring 2012. Hope it will really happen.

Yeah, i love the fact that JMS had the idea to finally show us Vorlon when he knew it might be the last B5 story... I think we may have seen it one time before though, in the flash back of Talia being picked up by the vorlons

Sad :/ Micheal O'Hare is dead too :/ He was only 60 years old, but Richard Biggs was only 44 when he died of heart problems in 2004 :/ Yes, I mean the actor who played Dr. Stephen Franklin :) I have watched all the Babylon 5 series on TV and movies :) Good to know there is websites, where we can get them all hehe

It would be cool to have G'kar in the Crusade remake, BUT, filling the shoes of the late andreas katsulas, who played G'kar, are shoes no one could ever fill.

That's true. Having seen him on other shows it became apparent that only the creator and writers of Babylon 5 had any concept of just how good of an actor they had at their disposal.

Yes it did. 2008 or so, if memory serves right.

Dear JMS, please give us diehard fans what we really wanna see: what becomes of Londo and Vir. Time for some visual closure.
    Cheers.

Thats a nice intro , esp the part with andreas speech , that was one of my favorite dialogs from the series .
another lost tales might be difficult without some of the actors lost . they might be able to pull off a new arc from the last season . thats possible . but seeing how well rangers did hmm thats prob why we have havent seen anything new . B5 had a hard enough time finding networks to show it , god it bounced around a while . I keep writing scifi to rerun the original B5 series .

Heh, somehow after 0:50 the sequence makes me imagine a Babylon 5 MMO, in a selection screen where you'd be choosing which race you want to play as (except maybe for the vorlons..) Oh, if something like that only existed.. I'd be all over it. :)

I wish they would have kept The Lost Tales going. There's just something about the B5 franchise that won't allow it to continue or be re-launched.

The quailty of the Lost Tales Intro picture on youtube does not do it justice!
Buy the dvd and you'll know what I mean. The detail.
