I happen to own a man cave too, Maybe one time I could take pictures and videos of my Jimmie Johnson collection/ race car collection and share it with you! I will have to wait until some of my new cars come in the mail and I will also have to organize my trophy collection so I can show all the medals, trophies, and ribbons I won too.

    Fun fact:
F1 pit stops are only 2 to 3 seconds long, and that’s a lot faster than what you see here. F1 teams also have a lot more pit crew members than NASCAR teams do.

It’s pretty cool that they try to reuse the engines for future races. I’m sure there are other parts they try to reuse too, I remember some IndyCar crew members telling me that they try to fix up the old single lug nuts and recycle and reuse them. The single lug nut is a lot bigger than you think it is, it’s like the size of an apple or a pear, Check out the tires they use for single lug nuts for more details.

Seeing the gas cans in your videos makes me want one of those gas cans too! Luckily I don’t have to worry about getting a gas can since I have my grandfather’s old gas can along with a Sonoco gas can that looks like the one you got At Daytona, except I got mine at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway gift shop. It’s playoff time very soon, I hope this season ends with some great racing!

When you went behind the scenes where they work on the cars, did you by chance have to wear googles and earplugs? I remember watching some of your older videos noticing the race team shop’s saying safety first, goggles must be worn. It gets loud where the crews work on the cars too, so that’s why I was talking about earplugs. There are sometimes when they run some tests on the engines they use, and the engines are loud

@6:30 he talks about Atlanta. Kevin tells this story how the car they took to Atlanta was CAR #51 Dale refused to drive Car #51. Kevin was going to be driving the #30 AOL car originally or so that was the plan anyways. Then Daytona happens and Kevin had been doing all the testing for Dale in Car #51. So that was the car Kevin was comfortable in. Which is probably why he won. Or from a drivers stand point every car feels different. I had cars I would just race subconsciously. Then I had cars I couldn’t stop wrapping the steering wheel. It never felt right. We would try everything to duplicate cars but the wheel always felt different. I would immediately know what car was what. Even when the Guys would try and scratch a marking in the car to trick me. Or most of us if we have a car we really like we will scratch the roll cage somewhere discrete so we hop in and look for the mark. The guys aren’t stupid so they would spend hours looking for the mark so they could swap cars and scratch the car I didn’t like. But just grabbing the wheel you know immediately. - Im Assuming this is what Kevin meant by Dale didn’t like car #51.

What had happened was that Kevin's test team was trying coil binding and the suspension tricks to seal the car off. They were .8 of a second faster, and Sr. got in the car, said it drove like shit, and he'd never drive it. Harvick talks with Dale Jr on the DJD about it, I believe. Look at how a lot of the old guard struggled with the new-age era of setups.

I will admit, I was never a Dale fan. I disliked Chevy wholeheartedly. I started off pulling for Davey Allison and after he died I just watched without having a specific driver I pulled for. Not long after Dale passed, I saw a kid at a Truck Race fill in for the Rousch Fenway #99 truck over at Lucas Oil Speedway. I think he finished 10th, but he was just a young kid maybe 17 or 18 years old. I latched on to him for some reason and started becoming his "fan". Then in 2003 he was selected to be an ARCA driver and I got to see his first win up at Nashville. That kid was Kyle Busch. I have pulled for him in every race since. When Richard gave him the chance to come there this year, I became the biggest RCR supporter I could be. I have spent the past six months learning more and more about RCR and subsequently Dale. Even though I never appreciated Dale when he was alive, I sure do now. And, I am so excited that Kyle gets to work for such a historic company like RCR - and make them championship contenders.
I think Kyle has gotten a bad rap over the years just like I think Austin Dillon has gotten a bad rap over the years. Some stuff is deserving, but much of it just isn't. I really hope AD can score a win and make it to the playoffs. If Kyle can't win, AD is my #2 guy!
