PorkMaster its not no clip he used skips that allowed him to get through parts where he wasnt supposed to be in the map allowing him to get through large sections of the game
19:52 "When you start charging the crystals, the alien forces will check it and they'll try to stop it. It's possible you could be- CAN YOU TWO STOP FUCKING AROUND AND PAY ATTENTION?!?!?!?!" I wish he would say that XDXD
Tried playing this game SOLO without watching this first, managed to beat 2nd and 3rd level on my own (with a LOT of bunnyhopping to reach high speed to cross the green toxic water.......). 4th level I couldnt pass because needed another person to press the button while I stood inside the door. Fun to try though!
+Zack DeAngelis (he has replies disabled) That's the changebug, the shotgun HUD thing is just a side effect of changing players, see here for how it works: ruclips.net/video/dFqBesNK8hA/видео.html
They're acctually swapping characters incredibly fast. which causes them to take control of the other player. giving them their weapons. health. and suit energy. it also raises them up a small amount to prevent getting stuck in terrain on a swap.
+CompletelyRandomNick Well I did like that I could take turns, and control both characters, one at a time. No need to find a friend to play the other character for me. I played this so many years ago, on my Sony Playstation 2. The character that I wasn't currently controlling, would not do anything towards advancing or solving puzzles, but would react and shoot at any enemies that appeared in her field-of-view. Curiously, the Invincibility cheat, would only affect but one of the 2 characters, so on really-hard levels, I had to position the Invincible character to try to take the brunt of the damage. But according to the story-line, both characters are interacting at the same time, so it does make sense to show both views, simultaneously. And I did like the side-story aspect of Decay, in supporting the general HL narrative. If it is too confusing, then you may want to watch it more than once. And you can watch other YT versions of HL Decay.
Yosef MacGruber controlling is one thing, because you can expect where the screen will go and you have the control, but watching is confusing because both are moving at the same time and human mind cant focus on 2 different objects at the same time
CompletelyRandomNick I like watching somebody else play video games, because I can watch while eating, and also do other things, whereas playing the game, requires greater concentration and time-commitment. Both have their advantages. And I also like watching games that I have, or have not, previously played.
Yosef MacGruber this comment missed my point lol, but whatever, thats cool, i could say the same but it dont change the fact that trying to focus watching on both players is conffusing
CompletelyRandomNick I tend to appreciate the long-play versions, as I admire video game scenery, and like to see the hidden "easter eggs" as opposed to rush-games and speed-runs, but both have their advantages. In fact, I wonder how I might get a job in a place like Black Mesa, as that seems so cool to watch around all that modern sci-fi scientist stuff, write a report or two, and eat donuts. I have even thought of, should I try to play one of those games, as if it was real-life? I mean, like, for the first run through the game, stop looking in every corner, stop trying to eliminate every last hostile, and try to survive without dying to the end of the game. I mean, what if a video game might be "practice" for some scenario or melt-down of society? Of course, maybe only but very few games can be played like that, as rushing through a level, results in not obtaining the needed keycard, and getting stopped at some locked door, then having to go back and look around. And maybe "being scared" is no fun? I tried to show a friend that tram-ride at the beginning of Half-Life, and he couldn't watch it, as he was apt to becoming motion-sick from watching a game that he isn't controlling. That is hard to imagine how people can be like that, as it doesn't seem to affect me at all. But as I have gotten older, I find I don't like to play the radio and video games, all the time as much anymore, as I like to hear my thoughts and enjoy the quiet. I don't like sports or military or warfare games, but rather exploring and puzzle-solving games and a good sci-fi storyline, and apparently HL had enough of the latter, to interest me. And at least HL gives us that "unlimited ammo" crowbar, when other ammo has run out.
ToxicPenguin Officially it was only released on PS2, but as you can see in the description, this is done on a third-party PC remake: decay.half-lifecreations.com/
I do get to LAN, and we can see both too! But in my Gamepad no buttons are mappable, not the face buttons, trigger buttons, nothing works, so i cant shoot, use anything or switch weapons.
TailsDoll RollinsR When you want to play HL Decay with your friend, you connect to a server and you both play at the same time. In order to show what each one of them was doing, they both recorded their gameplay and then these videos were put together to create this. Better? :D
Ah i thought you were talking about 2 completely separate recordings (With both players having no connection whatsoever) so yeah, better. Thanks for the info.
That's a pretty speedy run you got there!
+PorkMaster "cheated"plz explain
PorkMaster its not no clip he used skips that allowed him to get through parts where he wasnt supposed to be in the map allowing him to get through large sections of the game
It looks like rapidly switching between the characters with G increases height slightly while jumping, spamming it fast enough allows you to fly.
I'D LOVE TO CHAT
BUT I'M ON DUTY RIGHT NOW
Is that Calhoun? How are we supposed to know which guard is which?
By realizing that Barney is in another part of the facility because Blue Shift exists.
Waiting for doors to open - The game
Prepare for trouble!

Meanwhile: Gordon Speedruner finished the experiment faster
Awesome job, guys!
Lol, didn't realize that there are about 2 Rosenbergs in this game.
Did shooting each other help in any way other than morale?
***** Yes, it's for boosting eachother's speed.
@@pjchl1 and to shoot eachother
love ur speedruns, and vids
PJCTV and Elgu_ rocks, that's all ... deal with it, aliens
Well there you have it, just proves that a majority of PC gamers can't play games without using hacks or "scripts".
Just kidding, great run! I haven't seen a good run of Decay in a long time.
Woah so the ship is always there just invisible at the end?
I love how they drew a smiley face then went back to speedrunning
It's very essential to the run
Holy frick this is a CO-OP speedrun

Wolfenstein: Young Blood ?
What was the shotgun collection boost jump thing?
I believe they drop their current weapon and then immediately pick it up. I have no idea how that picks up them.
They're acctually swapping characters incredibly fast. which causes them to take control of the other player. giving them their weapons. health. and suit energy. it also raises them up a small amount to prevent getting stuck in terrain on a swap.
MY EYES!
trying to watch both makes this so much more confusing T_T

I mean, the game's mutiplayer and it has wifi compatability.
Sourceruns is a group of speedrunners
PC Version is bad version for speedrun. You need complete the game on PS2
And in pc you can get scripts
Is this game PS2 exclusive? I heard it was, but I don't have my old PS2 and my 3 isn't backwards compatible :(
ToxicPenguin Officially it was only released on PS2, but as you can see in the description, this is done on a third-party PC remake: decay.half-lifecreations.com/

Is splitscreen playable on pc?
TD RollinsR You need a gamepad and some programams to play in split screen :),is so easy.
Its not as easy as you said, i tried a lot of times, but i NEVER get to map any buttons, so i gave up.
Well, Did you try to play the 2 screens on lan? that should work :P
I do get to LAN, and we can see both too!
But in my Gamepad no buttons are mappable, not the face buttons, trigger buttons, nothing works, so i cant shoot, use anything or switch weapons.
TD RollinsR Oh , well let me think...
What was that move with the spawning shotguns? impulse 101?
yendak the changebug glitch
Looks like they're cheating by spawning items and stuff. How is this a legit speedrun when cheating?
It’s actually player swapping which give control of the other player and their items, they do it too quick for game to react
why did he do makeup or did he
split screen play ??????????
+enes Baloglu 2 separate recordings from each player were put together ;)
Nope, P1 could see P2 at the start.
+TailsDoll RollinsR that's because it's a coop game for 2 players :D ;)
