- In this video I return to the forest with 10x16cm glass Dry Plates loaded in a restored Kodak Brownie no.3a camera from 1916. The forest I walk through is very dear to my heart as this is where I grew up and spent the majority of my childhood. I am constantly on the look for anything that would attract my attention. Final vertical panorama I took consists of long and super tall spruce trees that are lifting high up into the fog. It seems like they are literally touching clouds. I am very pleased with the final results and the shot I made will for sure become a part of my forest panorama series. Video continues in my container darkroom where I develop the plate and explain a bit more about how to develop Dry Plates including developing times and chemicals that I use. And to wrap it all up I announce the winner of last week's giveaway that will receive a beautiful cyanotype contact print I made!

Been a digital fanatic since the introduction of Nikon DSLR. My wife & kids gave me a Kodak square bellow camera. Now my passion, is reignited.
🖤
So nice to see you using the old girl (Kodak Brownie). I use a few myself and shoot glass, sizes from 6.5x9cm, 9x12cm, 4x5 inches and the odd sizes,. A while back I was shooting 6.5 x 8.5 inch glass, such a thrill to hold an image on glass that big, have now sold the camera, so sticking to the smaller sizes. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your video demonstration. Have a wonderful Christmas and take care.
Thanks for thr comment Robert. I wish you Marry Chtistmas as well and stay safe!
Yay that's me! Merry Christmas!
Yesss! Can you contact me on facebook please: facebook.com/lostlight.art
Thanks for the video Nejc. Enjoyable content as usual. All the best to you and family over the Christmas holidays. Looking forward to more of your videos in the new year. Stay safe, and cheers from Canada.
Hey Wayne. Thank you and all the best to you & yours as well!
loved how the negative turned out!
Thanks 🤗
Wonderful image especially with the trees maintaining proper perspective, i.e. didn't have converging verticals. Thanks for sharing.
Yes that was the hardest part. I was also afraid that the tops of the trees will not be in frame. Marry Chtistmas and stay safe!
Wow, that is so dreamy. Great job! =)
Thanks :)
Hi, very interesting as I've just been given a Kodak No 3 folding brownie Model D, and a Kodak No 3 Folding Pocket Model E-8. The image size is marginally smaller than the 3A, at 4.25 * 3.25 inches. Do you need to use a plate holder attachment, or does the plate fit in directly, as I can with paper negatives ?
Really enjoy all the process!
thanks for sharing this video ill keep up with yours videos!
Merry christmas!
Thank Filipe. I definitely will and I wish you a nice and safe Christmas as well ;)
Hi Nejc, amazing videos, It,s a very good work. I'm starting with dry gelatin pilates, and I don't know if I can reuse the developer or not
Nice dark Room!
Thanks
Can I use a dry plate camera with 4x5 film?
This is fantastic ✨
Thanks. Marry Chtistmas and stay safe!
@@lostlightart6064 Thank you so much! I got a 1913 Kodak Brownie similar time yours yesterday as an early gift and I’m pouring my first dry plates tomorrow 🤩 thank you for inspiring me ! Have a beautiful holiday 🌲🌲🌲🌲
@@pazyryk709 Oh thats nice! Send me the results I am interested into seeing what you will come up with 😉
Excellent. Bought a kodak brownie target six-16. Can't wait to try it out. Do you have any videos for beginners ? Like how to develop films ?
Hey. Thanks. No not yet but I might consider it if there are more of you interested
Nice work. At some point could you show and explain loading the dry plate into the camera.
I will. Have to get the camera out shooting sometime soon!
Hey Nejc! Love your videos. I’m trying to get into dry plate photography but the plate sizes and camera choices available are very overwhelming!
I was wondering if you have any recommendations for a relatively small and portable plate camera like that Kodak Brownie 3a? One that preferably takes a glass slide that is common.
Cheers
The best camera to enter the world of Plate photogtaphy is in my opinion Intrepid. Best price to value ratio. Then you would need somr Zebra plate hders and some plates 😉
What volume of developer and fixer are you using? I get the dilution ratio, but how many ml = 1 "part"?
About 250ml in total
Great video! Shawn
Thanks Shawn!
Great video. What tripod head are you using for this camera?
This is a small compact Velbon Tripod. I have to check the model
@@lostlightart6064 Sounds good. Keep up the good work.
super fotka, lep predpasniček ;)
Haha. Hvala Vale hvala 🤗
Wonderful information, thank you.
You are welcome :)
Nice work. You have an interesting channel and good ideas, different from may others. Seasons greeting and keep up the good work.
Thanks Vincent 🤗
Nice! I just gave my girlfriend a Kodak 3A for Christmas.
Good move 😁
