Manfred is one of music's greatest arrangers. He manages to create melodies, musical hooks, with highly imaginative arrangements out of songs that were quite often fairly mediocre in their original form. That takes vision and a kind of genius. I rate him up there with Sergio Mendes.
You are a genius, man! I am a hardcore Earth Band fan. I have scores of your CDs. I made CDs from your releases and called them The Best Of and I had to put together three of them. I never get tired of them.
Manfred could you possibly put a video up of Mars? Every time I feel down or disillusioned I listen to your early stuff as that's what I grew up with and it makes me think in a clearer way.
MMEB has followed me my whole life, or is it the other way around? From my first meeting as a 5yr old I was 'sold'.. I knew most of the songs by heart. Growing up in Arctic Northern Norway, I never were able to attend any of your early concerts, just hear tales of them. Not untill October 6th. 2012, I was able to go to Bergen. Had landed in Oslo the night before, flew in from North Dacota, slept 3-4hrs, and drove 8 hrs to go to concert.. AWESOME!! Slept a good night sleep and drove the 20+hrs back home... :) Where can I get the new album, I do want a cd, not a download-thingymybob... I want a cover to read and a disc to play. Wonderful work! Love it, as you probably know. It has always amazed me how you could take a tune, and turn it around, make your version, and it IS BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL! JUST LOVE IT!! it has inspired me, and even though the music I'm creating is totally different, I always have one of you cd's available to play when I drive for hours at a time...
