Yo! Just marathoned all of your Resi reviews, they're brilliant! You can tell you guys deeply care about horror, the franchise and wanting it to better itself. Just wondering if you'd consider doing Resi 5 (maybe when the remastered bundle hits the shelves?), would love to hear your thoughts on it.
+AnalogReviews this was a proper review for this game. Really great review. I also love how you put the soundtrack from resident evil outbreak. That game has best soundtrack in the entire resident evil franchise.
I really enjoyed this game, but I played this with my sister in co-op as I did with 5 as well so it could've been down to that. It's a fun game in its own right, but I can understand it not being a fun 'resident evil' game. I also like the care that went into the UI to make each character their own personally. But I do agree with much of this review. Personally, I think Capcom's RE 5/6 formula is better served in a action-horror based game like a Dino Crisis reboot, because I do miss playing this type of game (Gears of War is probably the closest to this, right?)
+FlagshipFighter Yeah, Resident Evil 6 can be enjoyable as a co-op action experience, it just fails as a Resident Evil title. The Dino Crisis games were definitely pretty fun and a reboot would be nice. I agree they should definitely separate their franchises more. Resident Evil needs to move back to its horror roots, and then they should probably make a new standalone co-op action franchise. That way they'll please both crowds without trying to do it all in one title. -Nathan
Now that was a good thorough well done review my friend, convinced me not to pick it up for Ps4 but i think il give Revelations 2 a chance that isnt too expensive now.
I consider the original Dead Space one of the few worthy successor of RE4 formula. It has enough action for wider appeal, while not compromising its horror elements. More so than RE4's true spiritual successor: The Evil Within
+Luyi Wang Dead Space 1 was very much an atmospheric survival horror title. Dead Space 2 was great as well, even though it was a bit more action based, it still didn't lose any of the tension. It's just a shame what happened with Dead Space 3 and in a lot of ways is comparable to what happened with Resident Evil 6. -Nathan
Excellent review! Also really depressing hearing it tries to please the original and casual fanbase and fails both. I might just play the Leon campaign, I just never installed it. When you mentioned Gears of War and showed this white/green bricked city oh man, straight out of Gears 1. It must break your heart seeing these moments of brilliance and what could've been. hopefully Capcom will just split the franchise into proper survival horror and casual action titles :) Great job!
+OSW Review HD Yeah, it's almost like Capcom listened to every random suggestion and tried to throw it all into one game to please the masses. They definitely would have been better off just releasing separate titles, here's hoping Resident Evil goes back to its roots while they release a separate co-op action franchise. We have nothing against Gears of War games and they can be fun to play through on co-op (although Judgement kind of sucked), it just has no place in a Resident Evil title. We're glad you liked the review, thanks! -Nathan
I had fun playing the game on Xbox one but the only problems I had was getting shot at even more and that big dude chasing u in jakes campaign and the helicopter shooting at u was annoying while your being attacked and getting your ass kicked over all I felt this was like the resident evil movies but still had fun with it
Leon and Chris's campaign is all I could finish. I started Jake's and hated it and Ada's felt just as bad. My biggest problem with this game is the games level design. Pretty much every area is designed horrifically.
I am not hating at all, merely curious. Why do you prefer Xbox One over the PS4, sicne the PS4 is the platform where the multiplats run slightly better? Again, no hate, just curiosity. Also, great video! :-D
+Thomas Lorentzen I'll give you my own personal view on it with a little history. I've never been a buy one console hate the other fanboy type, I usually have all of them for any generation as they all have their own merits. My favorites at any one time were as follows, NES, SNES, N64 for multiplayer, PS1 for single player and more mature games, PS2, XBOX once Xbox Live came out and controller S was released, XBox 360 (party chat, better online support), Now between PS4 and One I think is the closest they've ever been and its just down to small preferences. PS4 now has party chat and until recently didn't have notifications so I preferred One more, and I like the universal headset as where PS4 you get all different types, some you can't hear, some you can hear fucking everything including all background noise. PS4 games run better, xbox has more backwards compatibility. The biggest difference between the two and what puts me over the edge other than I just felt xbox has been winning with its superior online is the controller. I'm 6'5" and have pretty big hands and the PS controller feels like a kids toy. The PS4 controller is a significant step above the PS3 pile of crap but compared to the Elite One controller, there is no contest. So that edges it out for me. That and I prefer the achievement system to the trophies. Playstation always feels like its playing catch-up to Xbox. They followed them in online formats, the followed them with achievements, they followed them with party chat and notifications and they'll probably follow them with better backwards support. They have some fantastic exclusives which makes owning one necessary but I prefer the xbox experience over a small difference in performance, where if you aren't directly comparing them, you wouldn't notice. -Josh
+AnalogReviews I suppose that is a fair statement. My own reason for prefering the PS4 is that, while I have always been a PS kinda guy, I find the exlusive games PS has to offer more my thing than what the Xbox does..also never been a fan of Multiplayer gaming. To each their own
The change didnt bother me much with RE4. (I just at the time I didnt care) But when I played RE5 and 6, I started to regret it. Do get me wrong I like RE4 out of 5 and 6, but not as much other games in the series like RE Remake or even RE2.
He actually said the point. The game is bad as survival horror wise but is good as an action game. However, one thing i do disagree with him so as a lot of other reviewer that he rate leon campaign as the best but chris campaign as the worst. I always rate this the opposite. The game is already having no horror at all, what it relies on is only the action. The Leon campaign is like trying to put it in horror atmosphere but totally fail by having too much action you could do, you are more like wrestling with the zombie. So it is like a fail horror but also not enough action for leon camapign. But for chris campaign they did it like an complete action game. Since horror is already a fail for this game, then we player should only focus on the action, chris campaign has actually pushed all the action mechanic to this game at the limit. There are still flaw of course but i think is way better than the leon horror failure and also not enough action campaign.
I've tried to play this game several times, especially the Leon campaign but the constant martial arts stuff bored me wayyy to fast to finish it... I actually own and have finished every other RE games (Survivors & Spin offs included) but not yet this one... If I'll have to choose an action oriented RE game I would rather prefer 5 or Operation Raccoon City (that at least had the old scenarios) ... also I don't like at all the new characters and the missing of Jill & Barry... I'm still a survival horror kind of guy, I grown up with that games, I've REALLY enjoyed Revelations (except the action chapters) and a bit less Revelations 2 (I loved the sea setting of the first one) Resident evil 6 is without any doubt the worst one to date..much more like Ken's Rage 2 or Dynasty Warrior than an RE game.... there was a point when I was in the cemetary punching and kicking almost everything in sight that I was just expecting to make a Special move or a Fatality :/
I feel like Resident Evil 3 is going to turn into an action game with a little bit horror did Resident Evil 4 just turned into a complete action game and the sad part is if you like Resident Evil 4 you should like Resident Evil 5 it's the same game just different characters
Dude keeps saying the game's schizophrenic as though it is a bad thing. 1) that's rude to schizophrenics ... nothing wrong with these ppl ... and 2) that's the best part of the game.
Nothing wrong huh? I had a schizophrenic friend and let me tell you his brain and mind were not normal. Nasty and sad mental illness. It wasn't his fault but to say there was "nothing wrong" with him just isn't true.
The game wasnt perfect but its still is a fun game to play.

+OSW Review HD Thanks, we might do it then.

Herd the RE Outbreak theam song at the end... nice touch
Is it just my headphones or can you guys hear crackling all the time in the backround of the videos audio ?
I had fun with this game.
nice review! keep up the good work
Nice review, but really Alone in the Dark? What about Sweet Home 1989 on Famicon?
+Cogs of Conflict Thanks, we've referred to it in other videos.

Spot on assessment of these games. Tension, mood, and intrigue with a less convoluted story line, keeps players on edge.
Luyi Wang You damn right Dead Space 1 and 2 for life!
I still liked this game.
agree with pretty much all your bullet points at the end

Come back guys.

Do you have res5 as a review? Cant find it

Nah man Sweet Home invented Survival Horror. :)
Thank goodness for Alien Isolation and The Evil Within.
Evil within was the worst horror game I ever played. Nothing worked and it felt cheap. Only good boss battles.
Larry Medina did you complete the entire game? I myself think it s a great game and have 4 or so times
best series ever!!!
I feel like Resident Evil 3 is going to turn into an action game with a little bit horror did Resident Evil 4 just turned into a complete action game and the sad part is if you like Resident Evil 4 you should like Resident Evil 5 it's the same game just different characters
I could only stomach Leon's campaign on the original one. You guys got guts.
+TheXBladeist - Nathan and I finished the game in two play sessions. Not fun. - Valente
AnalogReviews I know right? Too bad the only decent horror game out there is The Evil Within.
Mr. Bubbles Oh yeah.
+TheXBladeist what about resident evil remake and resident evil 0😀
Just the Mercs alone justify this game.
"lack of difficulty" yea.. try no mercy mode lol
When I played RE6, I felt like I was playing a movie :( Definitely the WORST experience I've ever had in any of RE games!
Dude keeps saying the game's schizophrenic as though it is a bad thing. 1) that's rude to schizophrenics ... nothing wrong with these ppl ... and 2) that's the best part of the game.
There is nothing wrong with a medicated schizophrenic. Resident Evil 6 is clearly off of it's meds however...

+Mr. Bubbles Yep, we didn't take advantage of the Japanese unlock glitch, so we'll be up all night with Dark Souls 3. -Nathan
