I just truly enjoyed your video, presentation, and tips. Most of all, you have a charming, humble, personality!!! I was raised in Louisiana and love seeing a lady look great in humidity!!! Personally, I have an hourglass shape and have become curvy with maturity but the things I wear make me look more fluffy than I want to look. This video gave me hope for items I gravitate towards. Thank you for making this video and I want to encourage you to make more! I have white and I refrain from wearing it because I fear I will soil or stain it and it hangs in my closet. Like you, I gravitate towards blue and your blues and nude sandals and purse are a trend I see me increasing in the future. Keep on keeping on, my love!!!
White bottoms are very much my thing, too, I love them. I also love white shoes and accessories. In addition to white and blues I also love pale, cool greens and pinks, and taupe - the cool-toned beige. I add navy, khaki green and some cooler browns, too. Being so deathly-pale I avoid black and warm shades don’t suit my cool undertone. I’m only a borderline petite, 5’4”, but am very short-waisted, so one of my biggest styling challenges is finding tops and dresses that aren’t too low cut, straps too long, or the waist set too low. They’re always so long, too, down to mid-thigh! I’ve been buying “cropped tops”, they’re perfect, just covering my waistband. I’ve never shown cleavage, but many tops and dresses open to my waist! So, I love your petite clothes, except that I can’t wear synthetics, so that rules out Amazon and many other brands. I would love it if you could mention fiber contents, thanks.
I love but struggle with ruffles and puffed sleeves at my now senior status. Also, I’d love to see more half sleeve styles! I’ve lost a ton of weight but at this age my upper arms now look like they were left in the dryer for days! Any magic creams for that?!? Lol:)
I. too, would appreciate half sleeves…. on tops but do not want an over-all matronly “look”. I may be a senior but am not dead nor interestedt in looking “old”. I am not trying to fool anyone (as if I could) but neither do I want to appear that I have given up…. for I believe I am at a great age… headed to 74!!
I’m normal weight and age 63 and my arms are really wrinkled and awful. I think it’s from age-related loss of collagen. My Mom had this, too, and refused to show her upper arms, but I find sleeveless styles essential for hot weather and wear them anyway. It’s not like we can help it, and I don’t believe we should feel obliged to cover our less-perfect features. At our age, no one is going to look like a teenager, why should people demand that?🙂
Another informative and very helpful video. I thought my outfits were boring because I wear a similar style uniform. Instead of blazers I wear denim jackets in different pastel colors. You look well put together and elegant in all the outfits. Thanks again for a lovely video.
Mine go to is definitely white and a color. White wide leg cropped pants, white jeans (slim or wide), white jean shorts, white shorts, or a white tee and color on the bottom.
Thank you so much... yours out of hundreds of videos that I watched was thr only one that made me really understand that my style was everyday and what that meant. Your explanation was a light bulb moment and finally made me feel like I knew what I wanted and what to wear etc. I had been feeling lost and lost my mojo and your video really made me feel good about myself and where I needed to go with my wardrobe.
I just came across this video and enjoyed seeing the different items you wear. I'm 4'10" so I the "petite" name on your channel caught my eye. I'm in my 70's and I have to find what is appropriate for my size and still have a youthful and put together look. Can't wait to check out your other videos.
I always wear black to funerals, or navy if the deceased wasn’t a close family member. I think wearing a conservative (covered up, no cocktail LBD), dark outfit shows respect. How hard can it be to wear a simple, dark dress, anyway? I do add some touches of white near my face to the black, so it looks better on me, a white collar, perhaps.
Really needed this video! I’m loving the items in my closet, but lately I’m reaching for the same outfits. You definitely encouraged me to do a “ try on” day! Your style is very similar to mine and I’m going to check out some of the clothing that you linked. I’m Missing Lord and Taylor stores and the old styles at Banana Republic too. Thanks again!🌸
Love your sweet spirit! Also love the sale prices on many of these linked items right now, great timing! TY for choosing so many cotton-based items for these hot summers!!
I love your style! I don't really like the poofy stuff either, and there's loads of it here in the UK. Thank you for including all the links! I will definitely look at J Crew in future 🙂
I also live in the hot humid south. This year Walmart has a line of very lightweight sleeveless button up shirts and stretch jeans at the new shorter length.
I live in Alabama so I understand heat and humidity too. I have always worn shorts all summer but this year I have bought quite a few dresses at Walmart. Tee shirt dresses, sleeveless swing style dresses and one ankle length tee shirt dress. I already had several linen shifts ….I don’t mind looking a little rumpled. I’ve decided I’m tired of having a waist band that collects sweat just walking across a parking lot.😄. One exception is a pair of white, ankle length, wide leg, linen pants. I love linen because if it’s decent quality and you are careful how to launder it, it lasts for years and years. I haven’t gotten rid of my cutoff denim shorts, I just don’t wear them out and about any more. I’m kind of an old hippie and am not ready to give up some things.
I’m old now and certainly not a fashion plate, but I do know how to dress for my rectangular body shape. And I know how to pick classic styles that are wearable for years. It tickles me when someone compliments something I’m wearing and asks where I got it from. When I say Walmart, they are always surprised. If you’re purchasing inexpensive clothes from Amazon, they are mostly of the same quality as Walmart carries. I have 2 linen shifts I bought at Walmart at least 15 years ago. I’m careful in how I launder them so they still look great. I have also gotten some great things from TJ Maxx. If I had more income I don’t really think I would buy many expensive, famous label clothes. For my lifestyle at this point in my life, there is no need to.
What a wonderful idea to use a couple base colors as your foundation! Thank you for sharing your ideas! I've never been good at putting outfits together. So, I was wondering what I could use in place of the white bottoms. I live on property and have a handful of boys. White bottoms would get dirty in an instant (and I'm tired of black). Could a tan, white and blue combo, for example, work?
That’s great advice. It would keep one from buying things we just like, but don’t really feel comfortable wearing or that don’t fit our lifestyle. Love your videos! Did you have to take in the spank black dress?
I find that for anyone over 40 wearing a SLIGHTLY puffed sleeve is more becoming than the fuller puffy sleeves. Also, I don't think puffy sleeves and ruffles combined on a top or dress is a good look for anyone over the age of 10-it's overkill. Little girls look adorable in this look, but not women. One or the other in a modified style is better. Patterns can be tricky. If the florals are too small and fussy they can make a mature woman look like little granny from the old prairie days. I have a number of floral dresses, but I have to make sure the florals are spaced apart, not too bold in colour and design, and that the structure of the dress is simple and classic (and no big poofs or ruffles!). It's no doubt a tedious task searching for the right floral dress/top, but once found it just adds joy to my wardrobe.
It is challenging to find the right style that we are comfortable wearing. Thanks for the input! I love hearing & learning what others find is a good style for them💕
Love your videos and style. Can you share the crossbody bag with the wide strap that you wore with many of your outfits. I am petite and have trouble finding handbags that are not to big for my frame. Thanks

Ha ha! No, no magic cream💕. Longer sleeves does camouflage & help👌.

Love that! Do you wear white all year round?
Mainly in the spring and summer, and tapering off in the fall. Talbots and jmclaughlin have good white bottoms.
As I’m brand-new here, I just wanted to mention my interests: petite styling and fashion. Not much makeup, etc. From San Francisco, age 63.
Good to know! Thanks for the feedback💕

Another great video, Michelle! Thanks for the inspiration - I can easily see myself wearing most of the outfits you featured.
Thank you💕

Mine is blue navy , white and my splash is red .. most use summer colours
Great combination! I love those colors too.
Love your videos, Michelle! This is so me!
I appreciate that! Simple styles are easiest for me.

Great video with lots of useful advice. Love your style so classic and chic.
Thank you Jules!
Really loved your video! Thank you for excellent advice!
Thank you💕
Love your style. Thanks for the video. Question: why can’t I get the Spanx discount code to work?
I’m sorry, try this: MICHELLEAXSPANX
I really loved this! Thank you

Did you have to take in the spank black dress?
Thanks! It sure would! I had the Spanx dress shortened. It hit me at a weird unflattering length…

Love your lipstick color…would you mind sharing the color and brand?
Thank you! It’s Urban Decay in the shade Back Talk, topped with NYX gloss in Creme Brûlée

I think it was my Louis Vuitton, here’s a link rstyle.me/+xuywhEV8XmvghApGJhcrTw
Also, the spank code isn’t working for me. Any ideas?
Hmmm, I just checked and it worked for me. Try again, it’s MICHELLEAXSPANX. Let me know if you still have trouble.
@@poisedpetite I didn’t have the middle X. Thank you!
My struggle being 56 is everything either looks too young or too old
It can be challenging to find that middle ground.
I know exactly what you are feeling! I go thru the same thing!
Specifically, WHAT looks too “young” / too Old?
