이번주 신청곡은 미국의 프로그래시브 헤비메탈 밴드 Queensryche의
1988년 곡 eyes of a stranger입니다.
제프 테이트의 독특한 창법이 드라마틱하게 펼쳐지는 명곡으로
앨범 Operation : mindcrime 의 대미를 장식하는 곡이기도 합니다.
곡의 도입부와 후반부가 긴 연주로 이루어져 있는데
보컬 커버가 목적인 만큼 보컬파트 위주로 편집을 했습니다.
하지만 앨범전체가 스토리를 가지고 트랙이 전개되는 만큼
관심이 있으신 분들은 처음부터 끝까지 앨범으로 들어보시길 추천합니다:)
퀸스라이크 곡은 3년전에 'take hold of the flame' 이란 곡을 커버한 적 있는데
처음으로 외국분에게 심한 악플을 받았던 적이 있어서 특별한 기억으로 남아있네요.
웬만해선 악플에 맘 상하진 않는데 당시엔 처음이라 엄청 우울했다죠. ㅎㅎ
그 후로도 퀸스라이크 곡들의 신청이 있었지만 외면하고 있다가
피할건 또 뭐냐 싶어서 이번에 준비해봤습니다.
이번엔 좀 다르려나요🤣
