I have had my 2013 Portfolio for three years now and I still grin like an idiot when I drive it. Class, style, performance and economy. Buy one, bet you love it!

Nothing can embrace beauty, style and charm like a Jaguar XJ. Love at first sight. BTW when you own something this gorgeous I suppose you don't really care about fuel economy.
I currently drive and enjoy my Jaguar XF 2011 model and still drives silky and I am enjoying it everyday so far. I am planning to buy my next car late next year but the thing is Jaguar stopped the XJ production. It is a shame really because I want a brand new but since the production had been stopped then I will settle with a 2019 XJ or an XJL.
The engine on my 2014 jaguar XJL died at 126K miles. (All routine and regular maintenance performed meticulously). The dealership said I could get a new engine for $25,000. I spent over $13,000 in repair and maintenance in the three years I had this car. Now I have a 4100 pound paperweight in my driveway.
It really is an amazing and beautiful car I'm impressed with that fuel economy I daily a Rover 75 2.5 v6 petrol it struggles to get more 32mpg on the the motorway thing have really changed in 10 years
Thanks for this sir, I'm about to change from a 2.0 litre F-Pace and was looking to trade up into a 2nd hand 3.0 litre V6 model. But it seems I can get an XJ portfolio (with the required 3 ltr. V6) plus levels of kit way beyond the equivalent F-pace. Seems strange given the difference in starting price. You said depreciation of 60% from new prices after 3 years, but I've just seen an XJ R sport, 1 year old, with 8k miles for sub £35k??? which is mad. I'm guessing with the imminent model update/change, and the obsession with crossover/suv style cars, now is a good time to be looking at picking off a serious bargain. It will be a daily drive so it was good to hear your thoughts on the practicalities as well as the obvious emotive reasons
It shocked me too. Even at worst it was still acceptable, especially when you considered the car. I’m searching auto trader high and low currently for one. :D

I think a Jag is a proper musicians car, that’s why I personally own an XF! The XJ definitely looks not to be messed with, equally it looks mega luxurious too. Driving at night is no issue, brilliant visibility all right - fantastic headlights - a really lovely cabin too. The surround view camera system is superb, however to use the front camera it isn’t always as simple as the reverse camera. Equally, when parking, it’s easy to select them all. Getting out of a junction requires a little digging in a menu, however it’s easy enough. I wouldn’t rely on the front camera for junctions though - just to give you a rough idea of what’s going on.
Does it have double glazing, like some German competitors from the same segment? 50mpg cruising around national speed limits is great for a car this big. What car would you say has better sound deadening? XJ, S class, A8 or BMW 7?
I own a 2012 XJ Portfolio with a B & W sound system which is very good, but never having listened to the Meridian system I can't say which is better. Incidentally, the X351 was in production from 2010 to 2019, not 2008/2009 which was the X358(old shape), and personally I think a better car all-round in as much that the electronic/electrical system and switchgear were all reliable Ford products. You only have to visit a Jag forum to see how many owners suffer with electronic/electrical problems to realise that JLR got it big time wrong, and this is sad because had they got it right by subcontracting the electronic/electrical work to a Japanese company the car would have been head and shoulders a better ride! Please do not misunderstand,...I love Jaguars, always have since childhood and my XJ is my third Jag, but I just think that as a company they have lost their way big time!

This isn't bad, and obviously every car is starting to look either like a sports car, an Asian import or an American muscle car, but I just wish luxury cars would be luxury cars again. This and the Genesis are the only ones who seem to at least be attempting to maintain some semblance of what a luxury car is. I don't care how it handles. Can I get out of a parking lot without a problem? Great. A luxury car should look like a luxury car and be comfortable, smooth and soft. Unfortunately, those cars are on the way out and instead we've got "luxury" cars that have a rough ride and lots of tech and toys, if a manufacturer offers a sedan at all. I wish Jaguar's reliability had improved over time, because they'd be my first choice.
