  • Cush Jumbo reads The Language of Violence, one of the final speeches by Malcolm X in 1965. This speech was in response to a firebombing at his home the evening before. He, his pregnant wife and four daughters survive. No one is charged with any crime.
At a time of political turmoil, unprecedented world events and an increasingly divided society, what does inspiring leadership sound like?
Figures of Speech, a major new digital film project for 2017, will interrogate the vitality of speech to remember.
Made in collaboration with the Almeida Theatre.

So I see a promo for "The Good Fight", and I'm like . . . who is that? So I search for a list of the cast, and run across her name. An odd name. So I go to youtube to see what she's done. And now I'm on a little viewed vid of her doing this Malcolm X iconic speech.
    Consider me a new fan.
