These highlights are fantastic, but they don't give you the full insight into how powerful and dynamic a runner Monty truly is. There are so many mundane plays that wont necessarily make highlight tapes -- runs that should have been a loss of 1 that end up gaining 3 yards, handoffs where he's hit at the line of scrimmage that turn into gains of 6 yards, moments where he consistently picks up free-running LB's off a blitz and doesnt ever miss a block or get out-muscled... his contact balance and strength is some of the best in the league for his position. You almost never see solo tackles made when he's carrying the ball. Gibbs is an unreal talent -- speed at both the vertical and horizontal level that sinply can't be rivaled. But Monty is the kind of runner that makes short conversions a nightmare to scheme against. His pass protection is excellent, he can catch the ball more akin to a slot / speed back. Being an average player at every facet of your position in the NFL is already an accomplishment, but to excel at everything you're asked to do is aomething rare.
He is very physical and also very skilled, but I really think his greatest strength is his IQ and split second decision making. He is very patient and always takes the smart route and that’s why he’s consistently solid for us.
as a Pack fan, he was the only Bear that I respected. at 2:12 ... number 21 was Devon Witherspoon... Witherspoon's whole sequence is worthy a Shaqtin' a fool mention...
