Just to get things straight, this is my list of most to least favorite Halo games:
Halo 3 ======my favorite videogame, EVER; this is coming from a guy who plays mostly RPGs on PC.
Halo: Reach ====ridiculous excuse for a "game"; proper term is "gasm".
Halo 4 ==== CORTANA!!!! T_T
Halo ======opened the door.
Halo 2 ======the stepping stone.
Halo: ODST ==retains the same gameplay but lacks the heart.
Halo: Wars ==meh....

I remember playing that shit on legendary for the first time and couldn't figure how in human existence somebody was supposed to pass that level. Then one day I finally did and it was one of the greatest achievements of my childhood.
"The graphics are sooo GOOD!" is what I said back in 2001 and still stands
"The story is so compelling" is also what I said and still stands
"The gameplay is fantastic" is what I also said and still stands today

This game was my childhood. It's storyline, graphics, atmosphere, and different lifeforms all made this game incredible.
Remember when you first step out of your crashed ejection ship and you look at the beautiful world around you and then you see the big ring in the sky that wraps around back to you?
So many good times and memories with this game. So compelling and so unthinkable, this game had it all.
The younger generations will never have the same experience we all had with beautiful masterpiece of a video game.
Sadly after Halo 3 I think everyone lost interest in the series, probably due to the story not having to do anything with the Master Chief.
But Halo: Combat Evolved was the best game out there for the time.
I'm sure you can all relate and agree.
Halo 4 was all about the chief and all the hard times he had to go through and he spoke a lot more that's why I love chief even more
Marcus Michel Yeah, so Halo 4 wasn't bad. It's was new, fun and an advance in Halo's story. Halo has bloomed over the decade. It's still a great game and I can look forward to Halo 5. Oh, and Congrats to Bungie's new game. We loved you Bungie.

I still can play the 8+ hour Combat Evolved campaign after all the playthroughs I've done over the years. I can't do that with any other Halo game. It just doesn't pull me in enough.

Remember Reach's final scene? How it was Halo 1s first scene. That one hit me and my friend. Brought tears to our eyes. Then we had to play 1 again.
At the time of this trailer little did we know of the impact this game will have
I was drooling all over the earliest footage and the earliest news on the Xbox. Seemed like the best thing ever.
That's what I love about it. I like to watch it as if I was a person seeing it for the first time back then, completely oblivious to the impact it would have. It's almost haunting in a way.
I think this game left an amazing positive impact in everyone that played it 🙌🏻🙌🏻🎮🎮

+ZVER410 I love how the story plays. Combat evolved literally took place right after reach. Halo is a brilliant game. I honestly liked the old halos more such as 1,2,3,odst, and reach. Halo is kinda loosing me now. Il liked everything, the original oracle, the brutes, and the original covenant.
+Jordan Essen not for me, but its definitely number 5 on my all time favorite list.....only 4 games (Half-Life, Outcast, Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis and Warcraft III) I rate higher than Halo: CE...and as all 4 of those are PC games, I could say that Halo is my favorite console game of all time.
And I have to say that from all of the Halo games, Combat Evolved had the best atmosphere and I also think the most legendary singleplayer levels, especially Silent Cartographer and Assault on the Control Room.
+II Joker II Ye Same for me...I honestly started to loose interest after Halo 3, which was slightly disappointing for me.
Halo:CE and Halo 2 are the best games in the series for me...I think 343 did quite good job with Halo 4's singleplayer, but with Halo 5 they totally lost it.
I think this is the best game for everyone who has played it for the first time...
And thus a legend was born...
Interesting how Halo 1 seems like so long ago by this point but Chief is a tremendously battle hardened veteran before the game even starts.

No matter how far we go, no matter how much better technology gets....No other game will capture the alien atmosphere of wonder, exploration, fear, heroism and sadness that this game gave me almost over a decade ago. An inspiration for games and gamers forever.

IDK what you are talking about but halo 5 was actually a pretty good halo game.
+General OFG what makes you say that? The campaign was very bad with cutscenes that made no sense and a story that barely resembled what the ad campaign promised.
Mr. Helix I'd suggest you read the books before playing the game, then it would make more sense.
+General OFG I have read the books but from the perspective of someone that's a casual Halo fan they don't know what the fuck is going on like who the fuck is Blue Team who is Tanaka and Vale and why does Vale know Sangheili? And the cutscene where Buck and Locke are talking about Chief and him being the reason both of them are there makes no sense at all! Buck joined because of Palmer. They shouldn't have had Buck in there at all as he ruined some of the dialogue between Osiris. Now to quote LateNightGaming tell me who Locke is as a character without telling me what he does, his history, or what he looks like. You can't even do that because he's a character that was never fleshed out. Halo 5 is a bad game and you can not deny that even though it has a decent soundtrack and the Intel is a good treat for lore fans it's still a bad game but I won't patronize you because you like it but do not say Halo 5 is a good game.

When I was like 13 my parents put their old tv out on the curb because it stopped working. I hauled it back inside and fixed it in my room. Saved up money by mowing the neighbor's lawn and bought a used xbox that smelled like second hand smoke, and a copy of Halo: Combat Evolved. It was the first time I earned something that was all mine. A similar thing happened a few years later when I inherited my dad's old car because I was the only one who could get it to start.
I know it's two months late to say,but good on you man for working for something you held dear.

you and me brother, you and me both .... I remember when I played the game when I was like 9-10 years old or something ... I knew jack shit in English but I still managed to understand EVERYTHING (despite being a retrograde Russian teenager at a time), that is the first sign of a well written game. I remember ALL OF THE GLITCHES ( I still remember them all, from Pelican drop glitches in the Archives, to walking in ejected shuttle space in first mission, where you can walk thought walls if you can manage to exploit a glitch =) ) I've discovered in the game, since I had been playing it for a period of 4 years, the speedruns of the game I did before speedruns became popular, first time encountering the flood with its dreadful atmosphere and the feeling of being left to die alone, the fear and terror I had to endure in the Library to get through the Flood, the amazing musical masterpieces, such as "under cover of night, covenant dance, gun pointed at the head of the universe and etc." ... Thought we didn't have xbox multiplayer in Russia, I remember the green transparent xbox one (the real xbox) I had, those amazing controller which never broke and felt like a partly metal hand of yours, seemed like an extension of your arm, you could see the Xbox insides and all of its working parts, it felt like a living organism with its own, genuine heart ... I remember the first time I've finished the game on Legendary in solo, I was hoping to get an amazing new discovery like in old RPGS, but instead, I saw only the master chief taking off his helmet, and the cold, mesmerizing view of the galaxy as the music continued to play in its grimdark tone ...
The times man, the times when some games had souls, more souls than Dark Souls chosen undead could ever hope to harvest, more soul than most human population has in our days .... All of my passwords from PC up to my private banking account are connected to John 117 and Pvt Jenkins (thought changed a bit), even back than I had the feeling (before he got his own book) that he is an amazing, heroic type of a guy, that is how much I am dedicated to the Universe, that is how much Master Chief inspired me that I became a bodybuilder and a 3D designer.
Remember and cherish those times brother, they are almost like parents love, remember Halo: Combat Evolved

The game is actually 22 years old ;) and it's still one of the greatest experiences in my life (Halo as a whole). It will always have a place in my heart. Greatest franchises that was ever made :)

This game came out when I was about 1, so I wasn't able to play it then, but I manage to own an old copy of it that I played on my crummy laptop during high school. For a 16 year old game, I think this game's campaign is one of the best I've ever played, and that's saying something in today's age of graphics and immersion.
AvionSpace I just play this on my crappy laptop that connects to a computer screen since 3 days ago, still a great memory even my father does play before... I hope this game does famous again, but halo infinite is going to save the halo I hope

co-op splitscreen a great and memorable time i had more fun at lan parties with a bunch of friends everyone brought their own tv setting up in all rooms of the house playing ctf on blood gulch and cooking 99 cent tombstone pizza's that is my best multiplayer experience nothing like hearing your friends scream from the other room when you kill them the online experience just will never touch that ever

Man I remember when my dad came home with this game and an xbox and I was like 3 at the time and this was the coolest shit I had ever seen and got to play and was the first video game I've played. I'm 20 now but boy did the years fly by fast, one of the best franchises ive ever played and I'll cherish all the memories I have when playing this

1. Halo 3 (Darkest of them all)
2. Halo: Reach (Sad... That's Halo)
3. Halo 2 (Loved the soundtrack but the story was a little fun)
4. Halo (I don't know why but to me it seems so boring)
5. Halo 4 (Hate it)
My opinion for multiplayer
1. Halo (BTB Was awesome)
2. Halo 2 (BR's were boss)
3. Halo 4 (Sprinting and BR's)
4. Halo: Reach (High quality and DMR's)
5. Halo 3 (Meh Assault Rifles... Sand Trap was fun)

This game... I remember my first playthrough landing on the ring with so much fascination looking into the horizon with amazement. What a beautiful game I thought. Oh and the gameplay, story, music was just so ahead. It'll always remain on top of of my top games list.

This franchise has been a part of my life for most of it, and I don’t plan to stop anytime soon. I still have my old copies of CE and H2. Just need an original Xbox again and boom, right back to being 6 years old again

This is my all time Favourite Game. I remember being 3 year's old and Obtaining the Badass amazing Xbox Original, and played.. This. Oh my god, It was one of those Games that i played sooo much. Aside from Munch's Oddysee, Grabbed by the Ghoulies and even Abe's Oddysee on my Dad's PS1. As i got Older it got Better i better understood the combat, multiplayer with my Friends over was a Blast and at Age 17 it still Remains my All time Favourite game, i have it now on PC, Custom Edition on PC and on Master Chief Collection on my Xbox One, i even have my Original Xbox Copy. I have never loved/played a game more in my life aside from Mabye Oblivion or TF2. Anyone else feel the Same?? Share your Fav games as well if you like :)

I don’t even remember any ads for Halo, I just remembered getting the Xbox at age 20 in the Army stationed in Hawaii. I played this game religiously, so did my first son, born in July 2000. Still playing Halo till this day.
