Cartagena is absolutely stunning, but my experience there had an unexpected twist 😅. Between the heat, the music, and those walks around the walled city... Definitely a city full of surprises in every way!

Eric! Great vid! We go to Cartagena every year for the last 5yrs and stay at least a month. We have stayed in Manga and also an Urb. called La Espanola close to the castle. Very local there. Haven’t stayed in Crespo yet. You are right that it doesn’t look very nice from a distance 😊. All the things you are saying are true about Cartagena. Even with the cons we still love going there. As I watched your video it made me miss the streets of the walled city 😢. Looking forward to more from your channel 🎉

@rochelleglam thanks so much for watching! We were discouraged from going so much from other expats that cartagena blew us out of the water! Amazing! My original plan was to stay a full month but it didnt work out 😢

100% truth its sadly part of what gives cartagena a bad name but theres SO much more

@@DorainesCano-x8p just for some balance here- we had our wedding ceremony on Playa Blanca near the end of the beach (closer to the Decameron hotel) on the night of the Copa America soccer game when Colombia played Argentina in July. Nobody was on the Barú peninsula that night and it was so magical.

@@rochelleglam True! We had to walk all the way to Playa Tranquila which is the end as you mention. It was clean, cheaper

What do you think about cartagena? Is it a livable city as an Expat? Or simply a short term tourist spot?

@@genERICexpats we have a child and could make it work but we think there are better places within Colombia to raise a family. My husband and I do talk about retiring to Cartagena. My mother-in-law is buried in Cartagena. It’s a special place for us.

Bucaramanga is a small, green city. Better place to grow a family
