Estoy aprendiendo alemán pero se me hace más fácil aprenderlo desde el inglés y luego español, Thank you So much for all these videos, you have helped me a lot! 💯
As @moji487 said, it’s the short form for „Und wie geht es dir?“. It’s because in German you don’t say „Wie bist du?“ which would be the 1:1 translation of „How are you?“ but „Wie geht es DIR?“. See?
Hi Sunny Suphot! Thanks for this very helpful tutorial. I've been following your lessons since Lesson 1 and I think some of the topics in lesson 6 should be discussed in lesson 3 since it talks about Personal Pronouns. I'm sorry but I had a little confusion in the use of "you" here in lesson 6. Nonetheless, I was able to catch up at the end of the lesson. Thanks a lot!
How are you - Wie geht es ihnen (formal) How are you - Wie geht es dir (informal) I'm fine - mir geht es gut And you - Und ihnen/dir. Me - mir You - dir (informal) You - ihnen (formal) Him - ihm Her - ihr It - ihm Us - Uns You - euch (dative case) Them - ihnen. I'm also fine - mir geht es auch gut I'm ok - es geht I feel very well - mir geht es sehr gut Yes - ju No - nein Maybe - vielleicht

hi I am also leanring but I found following example useful. hope can help you understand if you can tell the difference: Mir geht es gut. Und dir? Ich bin 20 Jahre alt. Und du?
Zafiirah Zaf dir is used to express the indirect topic. So the question is about feelings/ well being and the object (to whom we are directing the question) is you. Since "you" is not the main topic of the sentence but still important and understood that we are referring to "you" we use the indirect object pronouns "dir/Ihnen". It is a German grammar thing so you have to make the difference based on the context and logic of the sentence.
Im a absolute bigginer,in one of the previous lesson i was taught that i am = ich bin,but here in the senteces,i am = mir ,can anyone please explain me that?
Well the german langauge can change when two words are together like it went from i give the book to anna to i give her the book in german also different regions might have different ways. Im a begginer but I know this one
Me = mir (the indirect object of the sentence). So logically you can break the sentence in 2 questions : what is the feeling? (Sehr gut = very good) and who is feeling (mir = me).
In German you don’t say „Ich bin gut“ for saying „I am good“ but „Mir geht es gut“ which kinda means „I feel good“. See? It’s just different than in English.
You're lessons are really good. But you need to slow down and let the person repeat after you. Hardly any time provided between one speech to another. I'm sorry, but will have to unsubscribe the channel as nothing new is coming up and the old ones have very fast narrative.
I thought that learning german is very hard until i watch your videos. .. thank you ❤
If you know English or Dutch then German is easy. Only spellings and pronunciation are a bit different.
Ur profile looks gay
Hi, can you explain me 2:16, I don't understand TT
Yeah, until i watched her videos, i realized that German is harder than i expected :')))
Danke

since 'du' means 'You' as well, why can't we say 'und du' instead of 'dir' or 'Ihnen'?
