For all the criticism of the vocalist in this performance, I ask any of you to find a better live performance of this song anywhere. I have not seen one. This is a massive undertaking to cover this track live with an orchestra, and despite the broken English of the vocalist in a few parts, this is an amazing and moving performance as far as I am concerned. Some of the comments here seem to suggest that the vocalist forgot the words to the song, but I don't think that is the case. English is a second (or third or fourth) language to him, he is only pronouncing some words with an accent. How many of you from America sing Pink Floyd songs with a British accent? If you sing their songs in an American accent than you could just as well be criticized for screwing up the accent. Well done, a moving performance!
This is really great! The only thing I would change other than "emeny tanks" is the last two words "from me" be said with anger, for this this moment was the root of pink's loathing and hatred
I am a HUGE fan of pink floyd and I actually did some research on this ; when they were putting The Wall together, Roger presented this song to the rest of the band but they chose to keep it off the album along with a few others because they felt it would be too dark/sad (I know, ironic). When movie production began they gave him more leeway, and most of the songs that were turned down for The Wall are in the movie and can be found on The Final Cut album
I looked this up out of curiousity. My guess was confirmed. Because When the Tigers Broke Free is such a personal song to Roger, it is difficult for anyone else to emulate that.
RIP Eric Fletcher Waters, fusilier serving with Company C, 8th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) of 167th Infantry Brigade, 56th Infantry Division. He was the father of Pink Floyd's bassist and songwriter Roger Waters, was killed during Operation Shingle at Anzio.
The Final cut nunca ha sido mi álbum favorito es más no es de mi agrado pero debo admitir que esta interpretación ea excelente expresa ese sentimiento de Roger waters
Finishing out Andrew Roberts' biography on Winston Churchill (Walking with Destiny), when RUclips surfing the WWII campaign from North Africa (Tunisia) to the European continent (Sicily first, then Italy) came across this video .. you think you can fathom the awesome responsibility Winston Churchill and Dwight D. Eisenhower had when Allied Forces were ordered, under-strength, to land in southern Europe to pull the 3rd Reich from France in preperations for the Normandy landings .. then, out of nowhere, you hear this song and realize there is never no understanding or appreciating the decision a Prime Minister or similar leader must make in the time of war .. God bless Eric Waters and all those who made the ultimate sacrifice defending or liberating the oppressed and defenseless
Come on gamboa cut the guy some slack. it wasn't that bad. yea i know he missed a couple spots. How many live performances have you done? and were they all perfect? its not a video game you dont press a button & get a do over. I wasn't gonna say it first, fear of looking weak, shame on my fear, yeah i get a bit choked up hearing this too.
With all those resources there I think that fell short. Fair play for attempting it and it wasn't terrible but it could have been so much better. All the best to anyone coming across this grain in the sand comment and long may you continue to love Pink Floyd x
I’ve listened to this song for a long long time. This version is excellent. The guy singing does a great job and is far better than Roger is now a days at live events. Roger’s voice live has been hit or miss. Watch his performances, with Pink Floyd and without, since after The Wall and you will see what I’m referring to. David always had a better voice than Roger and always added more dimension when they sang together.
The only percussion playing is that one Bass Drum. In this version it sounds a lot like bombs dropping in the background. Some PF songs are complete downers, and that's cool.
Sounds like C because Waters over-pronounced it, as he did on much of this recording. The official lyric is Z, but unfortunately the proper English "zed" didn't work in the rhyme. Kind of a shame really.
History would have it that Roger's father Eric served in company C of the Royal Fusiliers when he was killed at the bridge of Anzio in Italy by an unstoppable force of German Tigers
This is truly the greatest anti war song ever written , Love Roger Waters !!
Yeah, right up their with one by Metallica
@@johnandhisinstruments6888 and war pigs by black sabbath
The very BEST OF .
.... No words .....

Shhh.
This is really great! The only thing I would change other than "emeny tanks" is the last two words "from me" be said with anger, for this this moment was the root of pink's loathing and hatred
Incredibly good rendition by the whole company.
It was it the Wall movie but not on the album. It was recently added to the remastered Final Cut album
amazing song, i love this!!
The voice the interpretation the heck!
Hauntingly beautiful piece of music. 30+ years later and it still
brings a tear to my eye. I have no ideal why it was left off "the Wall"
Probably because it wouldn't fit without making "The Wall" a triple album.
Because other Floyd's member thought the song was too personal.

Running time...

This guy forgot his angst...so much anger in the original... this singer doesnt' get this song.
I agree completely, I was excited at first but unfortunately he didn't pull it off.
1000000 percent , singer is a wanker
Not eddie vedder ... jesus christ

contempt
what?? his voice was incredible.
Seriously? "The enemy Thanks?" Put some fucking feeling into it....there's so much pain in this song and this dude phones it in.
rednoizeproject waters lost his father and the pain is in rogers voice on the song - i don't know why they tried to cover such a personal song ?
It almost looks like he’s reading from a monitor...
He's trying not to cry. You ever try to sing through tears for an audience? It sounds a lot like this.
He’s Italian singing in English, give it a rest
I think because it's not from the Wall album. I love this song, it would be great to hear it live this year.
Mind Blowing ❤
very nice
gives me the chills every time...

Company Z..
No IDIOT he is right uts C
This guys voice is amazing! Messed up a lyric but ill let it slide

I have never seen this before. P.S. In my own person opinion Roger waters is a genius.

The quality of recording doesn't match the performance, and it's a big pity for the listeners and a bit of a shame for the producers.

Awesome!! Why doesn`t Roger Waters play this track when he performs his Wall concerts?
Because it's the firsthand account of how his father died in the 2nd world war and it's probably a very painful song to perform
avete un cd registrato di un concerto o un dvd?
Would love to hear this without any vocals the music is haunting.
there is this ruclips.net/video/r6H2zV4S1jY/видео.html
Without vocals, then what's the point?
excellent
I get goose bumps every time I hear When the Tigers Broke Free. Singer needs to listen to the original guy though.
Somebody should have let the singer hear the original.
The enemy thanks?
I think I've asked this before, and I will ask again: Is there ANY chance you will be touring the United States in the near future?
Was hoping for a little more bombast from the orchestra on the final verse. Stirring version none the less.

bravissssimi.......
TOP!!!
didn't know Bam Margera likes pink Floyd..
Not enough to learn the song tho
The only percussion playing is that one Bass Drum. In this version it sounds a lot like bombs dropping in the background. Some PF songs are complete downers, and that's cool.
Is he drunk?
Vocals totally ruined it
The signer as no feel Roger Water wrote this song about is father dying. Read the lyrics
Yoshio Tamiya you need to listen to the original again. It is Company C and not "Z".
Maybe learn the lyrics, I dunno
Mumbler! That's company Z, not C, by the way. Of course, with the mumbling....
There are different lyrics - in some versions they wrote Z, in others C. In the original track it sounds like C.
Sounds like C because Waters over-pronounced it, as he did on much of this recording. The official lyric is Z, but unfortunately the proper English "zed" didn't work in the rhyme. Kind of a shame really.
Yoshio Tamiya on the letters shown at Roger Water's move the wall it says royal fusiliers company c
History would have it that Roger's father Eric served in company C of the Royal Fusiliers when he was killed at the bridge of Anzio in Italy by an unstoppable force of German Tigers
Didn't know Mickey Flanagan was such a good singer.
The most immortalized man to ever live and die may be Roger waters father.
Great song performed badly. Listen to the original it makes you want to cry. This does not have any emotion in it
CARICATE I VIDEO DI TUTTI I BRANI, PER FAVOREEEEE!!! :)) BRAVISSIMI, COMPLIMENTI!
Almost unintelligible. Was gonna cop it and send it to my brother. Pass...
Company Z not C. Google it
The guy singing really does not get the emotion of the song, wheres the pain and loss I can't sing and I could do better!
Maaaad chills
All of those musicians...all of that effort....with a singer who can't sing...and doesn't know the words...pity.
can t hear what he is sing in the first half of the song Only Roger Waters can sing this
This really makes me speechless. Roger Waters and the other PF-members must be jealous on this version.
Lol no
No I'm sorry good effort but not a stich on Roger Waters.
This right here is a singer butchering a great song.
The band performed ok, the singer did not :-(
