I went into this expecting scares, but damn, i can't even word this all The realisation, desperation and fear you could feel from the mother once she realised her son was shut in the room with her, that panic, the editing as well, everything about that, showing her old life and the decisions made to show how she's turning, then cutting to her completely turned, i don't know if it's more sad or terrifying, as i feel like in their own rights and obvious ways, this is so incredibly sad but also absolutely terrifying on a psychological level, it feels weird to say this was a great one, as it was horrible, but i think this has resonated with me the most

Ok it's nice to see what fully infected people see while being a Zombie. It's left off on a bitter sweet ending with the mother and son embracing each other in a hug. While still hearing the infected crack of the mothers hand as she firms her grip on him. This is what she perceives is happening, and this just may be ture, however she was hallucinating current events. The reality, maybe more tragic, with her consuming her son while holding him.

You know, I feel like the dude's vigilance in making sure the boy was not bitten, but not the mom is kinda telling. He was more afraid of the boy turning than the mom. Is it because he cared about the boy? Is it because he knew he had no stomach for killing kids? Makes me wonder.

So at the same time the guy clearly doesnt care about the boy or the mom or clearly anybody but himself for that matter, so while he might have been able to help the little boy, he probably would have actually ended up ruining it for him
This is really good. It isn’t just normal scary as in jump scares and creepy zombies (which can both obviously be good on their own) but adding a phycological aspect using the bond between the mother and son. The ending was definitely great... especially for the mother anyways as she was in this euphoric utopia as she died before turning, but not so much for the child, and well... he’s a goner unless somehow he can use the gun.
His biggest mistake was checking the kid but not the mom...I mean, if you're going to go to the trouble of being hyper-vigilant about bites and keeping infected people away from you, you can't half-ass it. You gotta check _everybody in the room._ He brought it on himself by being too stupid to make sure the mom was clear of bites, too.
This was a full rollercoaster ride of a short! Incredible use of light, dark, cinematography, and a complex story. So much horror with so little violence. Bravo.
I think he did get eaten because he couldn't escape and they both died and went to heaven because people who don't have peace become zombies so then at the end she had peace cause her son loved her and they saw each other again in a better place but it would be cool if the boy shot her

woah...that literally had my heart beating out of my chest while feeling super tight at the same time, I don't think i've watched a movie in a long time that made me feel this tense. It was horrifying. And shocking. I guess things get scarier the more you can actually relate to them, I could feel how horrified she was at the situation she unwittingly put her son in while she had been trying to save him, I could feel her desperation at each step as she tried to remedy the situation and failed at every turn. That was horrible! Super well done to everyone involved. I love zombie movies but usually what I love are the hilarious over the top death scenes and great one liners, this one was a whole different fish. Loved it!!!!
I think that when ever a person becomes a zombie they think that they are living their normal lives like the illusion that the mom was having, so they go on as zombies in the reality, but they all think that everything is back to normal again and they live their lives like they used to but in their heads.
That's a good theory if you like sad aspects of things like this. I kinda like it. But at the same time, I also like the theory that they honestly just become mindless killing machines, driven only by the need to eat. There's something enjoyable about the horrific concept of what used to be a human being with thoughts and emotions, now driven mad by instinctive hunger and the drive to kill anything that moves. Both are good elements for zombie stories, and for horror in general. Just depends on your tastes, I think.

Another top notch short. (There are many CryptTV shorts I️ do not care for) The emotion was very real. My take: the mom turned and saw her son wanting a hug. When she went to him in her delusion she was attacking him in reality.
That's what happened. It was flashing through her memories of him. She killed Vince because he would be a jerk to Cameron and it was too late for her to save Cameron. Instead of showing us what really happened to Cameron, they showed us a flashback.
The end was brilliant, when she took her finger off the trigger and the jacket fell away? You could see her turning even in the hallucination, and then the next scene she's turned completely

There are a number of possibilities to the ending, but the fact that she continued to have these memories even after she turned, may mean that she won't harm her son. More likely in her present state, she will protect him. That's my guess. But knowing you guys this may have a bad ending, where the camera pans out and while she is still having those memories, she is eating the crap out of the little kid. I wish I was one the writers behind those shorts.I am very envious at the twisted endings.

They had found a safe place on the street to go but the guy wouldn’t let them and forced them to stay with him. Then he threatened to kill the son. So either you aren’t the smartest... or didn’t watch it...
This was one of the best horror concepts I have ever seen. Bravo for creating an actual horrifying scene without resorting to lame jumpscares or cheap buckets o' blood tactics.

The boy didn't call her for a hug rather she imagined it when she got transformed and lost control over herself. In the video its shown when she was already turned into a zombie. Also its quite easy to get that as in her imagination the atmosphere was shown happier and brighter rather than the dim atmosphere of house, this itself is the testimony of the fact that she was imagining.
I know it's about zombies but I had postpartum psychosis and was very suicidal. I can see LOTS of similarities with how easily the mind is destroyed by illness either mental or physical. This brought tears to my eyes.
Linda Ciccoli Eh, the fact that she didn't even think of going for the key kinda knocked it down a couple notches for me. I mean, they could have had it wjere she went to look for it and the hallucinations obscures it from her. But instead, she went and tried to open a door she watched het locked.
Everything about this is perfect. It's a short film and I felt attached to this woman and her kid. She put so much raw emotion in this and every character made me feel. Way better than any zombie movie that has 2 hours to do it that Hollywood had made. Loved it! And the ending made me cry. 10/10 Amazing cast, script, everything.
I remember that movie it's weird how It was a lot of people on that train and only a pregnant woman and a little girl survived but the little girl had to sing in order for the other men to believe they were humans and not infected. I wonder if there is a part 2 coming out. And why would she kill the only person that could look after her son but it don't matter because we all know she ate him at the end.
This is a scary and sad life to be living in: You want your son to live but you've been bitten by a zombie and you're gonna turn into one soon, which means bad news for the safety of your kid. 1) You either turn into a zombie and represent a danger for your son. 2) You choose the option of suicide meaning that you don't become a zombie but leave your son all alone in this hell to survive. If you are a father or a mother, pls tell me how you felt about this and what you would have done if bitten.
Honestly that is a parents nightmare. But then again a parent would take every. Single. Step. Necessary to prevent a choice like This, not until your kid can fend for themselves and decide if they want to live or die. If the kid was that young and it was my daughter, I wouldn't want her to live for moments to either starve or be ripped apart alive, I would make sure she died humane atleast. I, on the other hand would feel guilty, and make sure I kill as many as those bastards before my time is up.
Well for 1 if I were a parent I wouldn't try to over shelter my child. Get them use to the sound of guns zombies and the reality of the situation. 2 have them understand when someone turns thare gone it's just the infection warring a mask 3 keep them out of the hands of crazys and other over protective people. Killers will not care for the child and those who over protect won't teach them how to defend or take care of thselves. Thought process to avoid is. Thay shouldn't have to see guns or weild guns because it isn't right and thay shouldn't have to. Avoid this for the fact that thares a strong likely hood your going to get bit shot stabed separated and betrayed. If they can't last a day without you your doing something wrong. Another to avoid is " thay only need me" in an apocalypse you need to know who to trust and how to sniff out traitors this can only be done threw exspirence develop that gut feeling. If they don't interact or develop relationships thay will never liarn anything about how to interact with fellow survivors or how to trust another being, or how to tell if someone is a phycopath. Plus in the event you die and thay only relyed and trusted you and you alone they will avoid other groups and die because no one had thare back no supplys won't accept help and zombies and raiders don't respect other peoples wishes to be left alone. But that's just me. And maybe your survival group is abunch of dush bags and your better off alone. XD
This was more heartbreaking than it was scary. Ya, she looked creepy when she turned like all zombies do, but the strong bond and love she had for her son was so sweet. It sucks that it had to end that way 😥
@CryptTV *Spoiler warning* The hand in her afterlife vision indicate that she eats her son, the way that it grabs on to Cameron is the clue. Yet due to Vinces body missing in the last shot of reality, where Cameron faces his turned mother, and backs away - Cross-referencing this with earlier scenes, Vinces body is indeed gone. This could indicate that she went into a frenzy, when she hallucinated Vinces reanimation, and fired the gun or just outright pummelled the body. The gunfiring is furthermore supported, the reason she cannot shoot herself, while sentimental in wanting to protect her son, is in fact due to her being out of ammo, wasting it on Vinces body in her hallucinations. This would most likely had made a lot of commotion, so Cameron is basically "spared", by being eaten by his zombified mother, rather than the rallying horde of zombies that is bound to come due to the noise from earlier.
I don't think Cameron is eaten at all. I think the whole thing is a metaphor for her lifestyle. We are getting the "reality" confused. The reality is there was no apocalypse- it was all in her mind. It's her own battle versus her own internal struggle to live for her son.

Austin Johnson but there was little to no evidence to suggest he'd do something like that. On the contrary, there was evidence to suggest he'd risk his own safety for the group too. Granted, he didnt see the son as important enough to die for, but that outburst was also while they were being chased. It's also another thing to abuse someone as opposed to not risking your life for them. Lastly, having a protector makes more sound sense than not having a protector.

The science has shown that when you die you hallucinate, often about pleasant heaven-like reunions with loved ones and such, explaining near death experiences. So I think the scenes of her hugging her son at the end were her last moments right before reanimating, and proceeding to devour him. Really perverse ending. I like it.

From what I gathered, he was kinda a shit head that wouldn't really care all that much for him. Not to sure if he was the guy she spoke of, but it sounded like there was a safe haven that she wanted the boy to go to but the guy has stopped them before. This is just what I've gathered. Basically kiIIing the guy would make a more clear path for the boy to go to the safe haven. But keep in mind, I'm not the smartest and this is a short. Shorts don't normally have stories that tie down all ends with logic XD

This film was beautifully shot. The actress was perfect, too. The plot is simply maddening. By her own actions, the mother condemned her son, too. The man may have been a coward, and spoken hastily out of panic, but he didn't deserve to die like that. If she hadn't been so foolish as to murder the man with so little provocation, he and her son might well have survived, either separately or even together. Her best recourse would have been to have the man shoot kill her, instead.
Very well done. Creative, great how you show the mental breakdown and change, yet keep the emotional core of her humanity. Audio really added quite a bit to the film. Great, great acting...she was awesome. Tied together nicely. The back & forth, before and after, was well done, along with the overlay between the new guy and her prior husband. Very good. Clever, unique.
I like that she doesn't hallucinate until the infection gets to her head. I also like to think that whatever this virus is, it somehow knows when the infected tries to off themselves and does this so that the infection has time to finish.
Damn, that was intense. I give props to whoever directed this and to have taken to such depths to go about this story. Truly a masterpiece. Very scary.
This was one of the best on of the short films I have seen because it really bring out a mother’s love for her child and even though tough time she will love him/her no matter what❤️

They had found a safe place on the street to go but the guy wouldn’t let them and forced them to stay with him. Then he threatened to kill the son. So either you aren’t the smartest... or didn’t watch it...

The boy didn't call her for a hug rather she imagined it when she got transformed and lost control over herself. In the video its shown when she was already turned into a zombie. Also its quite easy to get that as in her imagination the atmosphere was shown happier and brighter rather than the dim atmosphere of house, this itself is the testimony of the fact that she was imagining.
I know it's about zombies but I had postpartum psychosis and was very suicidal. I can see LOTS of similarities with how easily the mind is destroyed by illness either mental or physical. This brought tears to my eyes.

Linda Ciccoli Eh, the fact that she didn't even think of going for the key kinda knocked it down a couple notches for me. I mean, they could have had it wjere she went to look for it and the hallucinations obscures it from her. But instead, she went and tried to open a door she watched het locked.
Everything about this is perfect. It's a short film and I felt attached to this woman and her kid. She put so much raw emotion in this and every character made me feel. Way better than any zombie movie that has 2 hours to do it that Hollywood had made. Loved it! And the ending made me cry. 10/10 Amazing cast, script, everything.

I remember that movie it's weird how It was a lot of people on that train and only a pregnant woman and a little girl survived but the little girl had to sing in order for the other men to believe they were humans and not infected. I wonder if there is a part 2 coming out. And why would she kill the only person that could look after her son but it don't matter because we all know she ate him at the end.
This is a scary and sad life to be living in: You want your son to live but you've been bitten by a zombie and you're gonna turn into one soon, which means bad news for the safety of your kid.
1) You either turn into a zombie and represent a danger for your son.
2) You choose the option of suicide meaning that you don't become a zombie but leave your son all alone in this hell to survive.
If you are a father or a mother, pls tell me how you felt about this and what you would have done if bitten.
Honestly that is a parents nightmare. But then again a parent would take every. Single. Step. Necessary to prevent a choice like This, not until your kid can fend for themselves and decide if they want to live or die. If the kid was that young and it was my daughter, I wouldn't want her to live for moments to either starve or be ripped apart alive, I would make sure she died humane atleast. I, on the other hand would feel guilty, and make sure I kill as many as those bastards before my time is up.

Well for 1 if I were a parent I wouldn't try to over shelter my child. Get them use to the sound of guns zombies and the reality of the situation.
2 have them understand when someone turns thare gone it's just the infection warring a mask
3 keep them out of the hands of crazys and other over protective people. Killers will not care for the child and those who over protect won't teach them how to defend or take care of thselves.
Thought process to avoid is. Thay shouldn't have to see guns or weild guns because it isn't right and thay shouldn't have to. Avoid this for the fact that thares a strong likely hood your going to get bit shot stabed separated and betrayed. If they can't last a day without you your doing something wrong.
Another to avoid is " thay only need me" in an apocalypse you need to know who to trust and how to sniff out traitors this can only be done threw exspirence develop that gut feeling. If they don't interact or develop relationships thay will never liarn anything about how to interact with fellow survivors or how to trust another being, or how to tell if someone is a phycopath. Plus in the event you die and thay only relyed and trusted you and you alone they will avoid other groups and die because no one had thare back no supplys won't accept help and zombies and raiders don't respect other peoples wishes to be left alone.
But that's just me. And maybe your survival group is abunch of dush bags and your better off alone. XD

This was more heartbreaking than it was scary. Ya, she looked creepy when she turned like all zombies do, but the strong bond and love she had for her son was so sweet. It sucks that it had to end that way 😥

The hand in her afterlife vision indicate that she eats her son, the way that it grabs on to Cameron is the clue. Yet due to Vinces body missing in the last shot of reality, where Cameron faces his turned mother, and backs away - Cross-referencing this with earlier scenes, Vinces body is indeed gone. This could indicate that she went into a frenzy, when she hallucinated Vinces reanimation, and fired the gun or just outright pummelled the body. The gunfiring is furthermore supported, the reason she cannot shoot herself, while sentimental in wanting to protect her son, is in fact due to her being out of ammo, wasting it on Vinces body in her hallucinations. This would most likely had made a lot of commotion, so Cameron is basically "spared", by being eaten by his zombified mother, rather than the rallying horde of zombies that is bound to come due to the noise from earlier.
I don't think Cameron is eaten at all. I think the whole thing is a metaphor for her lifestyle. We are getting the "reality" confused. The reality is there was no apocalypse- it was all in her mind. It's her own battle versus her own internal struggle to live for her son.

I don't understand why she killed the guy protecting them though...it doesn't make sense to me.
Because she didn't want him going after her son, mistreating him, using him to slow down zombies, etc.
Austin Johnson but there was little to no evidence to suggest he'd do something like that. On the contrary, there was evidence to suggest he'd risk his own safety for the group too. Granted, he didnt see the son as important enough to die for, but that outburst was also while they were being chased. It's also another thing to abuse someone as opposed to not risking your life for them. Lastly, having a protector makes more sound sense than not having a protector.

Well that just made me cry like a large child.
The science has shown that when you die you hallucinate, often about pleasant heaven-like reunions with loved ones and such, explaining near death experiences. So I think the scenes of her hugging her son at the end were her last moments right before reanimating, and proceeding to devour him. Really perverse ending. I like it.

From what I gathered, he was kinda a shit head that wouldn't really care all that much for him.
Not to sure if he was the guy she spoke of, but it sounded like there was a safe haven that she wanted the boy to go to but the guy has stopped them before.

This film was beautifully shot. The actress was perfect, too. The plot is simply maddening. By her own actions, the mother condemned her son, too. The man may have been a coward, and spoken hastily out of panic, but he didn't deserve to die like that. If she hadn't been so foolish as to murder the man with so little provocation, he and her son might well have survived, either separately or even together. Her best recourse would have been to have the man shoot kill her, instead.

Very well done. Creative, great how you show the mental breakdown and change, yet keep the emotional core of her humanity. Audio really added quite a bit to the film. Great, great acting...she was awesome. Tied together nicely. The back & forth, before and after, was well done, along with the overlay between the new guy and her prior husband. Very good. I like that she doesn't hallucinate until the infection gets to her head. I also like to think that whatever this virus is, it somehow knows when the infected tries to off themselves and does this so that the infection has time to finish.
