It took me awhile, but the way I've interpreted this song is from a relatable perspective. The takeaway lines, "You couldn't love me anyway, my heart's in the way. I think my heart's in the way, I've gotta push you away. I couldn't love you anyway, my heart's in the way," makes it sound like a person's self-doubt being the downfall of them. An example being, liking a girl you see at school/work but not having the confidence to ask them out. Thinking, you're not good enough for them and you would only be a nuisance so you shouldn't waste your time thinking about loving each other.

Dusty is actually so talented imo. His old western guitar rap style caught my attention years ago and I’ve been a big fan since. Dope to see all the different styles he’s taken on so far. Cause he’s kept all of it relatively unique to his own sounds. And never really the same sound. But I’d love to see some similar stuff to insects cause that’s a bop🤙🏽
