I was actually really impressed with MBT's intuition with the non-twink cards. I thought he'd get a lot more lost in translation but he was able to identify what made a card good despite how little rules and gameplay knowledge he had. Good for him.

The higher your attack points the more hand your opponent has to use up to block your attacks, so basically gaining attack points frequently converts into -1s to the opponent's hand.
I would give the extra point for Baromagnes, the card is nuts in Premium format and can OTK with some of the hardest attacks to guard in the game, the call from soul ability is a big deal (read Hope on Damp). The synergy has made this a staple in DI.

Came back to say, bought cardfight Dear Days (the $80 sim on Steam) and for someone who hasn't touched paper since the Blaster Blade structures way back in the day it was a very good purchase, despite the steep cost. The story is meh, but a working simulation with no pay to win elements at all was a very worthwhile purchase imo (i've got all the structures now and both versions of Zorga blue and zorga red)

Been a while since I touched Vanguard, but god it feels weird seeing Omega Glendios being called “mid,” I guess it’s because these V cards made it once per turn but I remember getting annihilated by Glendios back in locals during Link Joker era. Non OTP locking made it so you only got one attack a turn while they were going at you with three, you just get out tempoed very fast.
Keep in mind that one of the big reasons is just a good amount of clans got anti LJ support outside of most of United sanctuary on top of the fact that you can stop them from hitting 5 and burst them down with crits

@@cman5516 The thing mainly is that Glendios basically runs a bunch of garnets and could mostly be counterplayed by not using all your zones besides that one dragon that forces you to play the top of your deck. It's frustrating but very rarely pops off.

Baro is a decent card considering it can pop off consistantly in two different formats. Might not be top tier, but I wouldn't lump him into the nah pile.

I'm late as heck to this video, but... Before it's release in the US, I had my eye on Vanguard, and then stopped paying attention to it 2 days after release (don't remember why). Now I'm taking a look to see if I like the game, and my only experience has been the 2 matches from the Dear Days demo. Then this video was recommended, and I wanted to play along. I got all of them correct, until I saw "Granblue" and thought it might be a crossover with Granblue fantasy, another franchise that I want to get into. AND I realized it's pirates and ghosts -- two of my favorite things. I don't care if it's actually good or not, I'm taking the point because its sub-ability is to convert me into a Vanguard player just by existing. Community +1, instant top tier (probably won't play it but I still love it) 10/10 card.

im way more into ygo than vg and watch mbt more often, so seeing this was a treat. i love how he played like 1 game back in 2012 and was able to guess correctly (and not to brag, but i guessed correctly every time so far too, but i do have more vg games under my belt than him so thats to be expected) you should play a match against him, and invite some more yugitubers over and if mbt ends up being into yet another card game and makes even just the slightest amount of content for it i feel like that could be huge for vanguard.
Quick question as a YGO player who clicked on a random recommended video because MBT was in the thumbnail- Does Vanguard have a good online client? Something like Yugioh Master Duel, MTG Arena, Pokemon TCGO, anything like that? I'm interested in trying to get into the game, but don't know that I want to get a start having to learn all these rules while playing cards manually. I feel like I'd need the help from automated reminders to get into the swing of things lol
There is a Steam game, Vanguard Dear Days that is sleek+automated and can teach you the rules though. But the cards come out late and the DLCs are expensive. I’d only recommend buying the base version of the game to learn the game and then move to paper/CFA :)

I bought dear days but dear God was so expensive. Vanguard is one of the few card games that I did not played so i can't wait to play DD but I will be so disappointed if the game is not good when they had the odacity to ask for 60€ for a card game

All the dark states VGs to a degree are insane in premium
Yeah and nlk is a big part too. Being able to switch mid battle, sc key cards too, and buff new ride. It's the nlk clan now.
Honestly why I don't think Di is appealing atm. Even Di players aren't happy with the clan being so focused around one theme.

Back when I was playing the general rule of thumb For determining if a card is good was if it's not crazy it's crap.

I bought dear days but dear God was so expensive. Vanguard is one of the few card games that I did not played so i can't wait to play DD but I will be so disappointed if the game is not good when they had the odacity to ask for 60€ for a card game
