Poor but with quality of life. You go to the western countries. If you don't have work you're just as poor as the people in the Philippines who is in poverty, but still with the smile on their faces. But in the west depression, loneliness and isolation is the big killer.

Nigerians videos in the Philippines are being noticed by Filipinos because they are made and being referenced with the Philippines. They are in the Philippines folks that’s why they compare their lives with their country. We just need to be thankful with God for letting these people stay comfortably in the country while acknowledging the fact that we too are blessed in so many ways than other countries. Let us pray for those countries that need better changes and that they too hear the Words of God. More blessings to each and everyone.

What is happening now in Nigeria is about kidnapping of young girls, which is negative about fear of more kidnapping incidents. The government there again is failing the security issues to it's citizens. Thanks for the comments and sharing with us your Vlog. God bless

If a vlogger wants to say things honestly, it carries with it the moral obligation to not offend people but it takes skills to do it and the people's culture of speaking somehow gets in the way. I'd like to share some "statements" made by some Nigerians. There are rude comments in Nigerian videos from Filipinos that have stemmed from some high standard-thinking Nigerians in the Philippines who unawarely insult the Philippines. If a Nigerian visits a friend in their house and he/she was offered their food and the Nigerian says: "I cannot stomach your food" and the Nigerian later on says "I said what I said." Is the friend the Nigerian visited, not supposed to feel offended? If yes, does it mean then that in Nigeria, it is ok to speak without a thought of kindness? "Some Filipinos drink pig blood" If that vlogger was telling the truth, then that Filipino seen as drinking pig blood must be deranged. We have one food that has pig blood as an ingredient but it is of course cooked. Not even the poor who is very hungry would resort to drinking pig blood. There are some strange food in Africa as well. "We have less poor in Nigerian cities than in the Philippine cities and the Nigerian government takes care of our poor." It is childish to brag that you have less poverty. Data on countries' poverty and its images are all on social media and who's got less and which country got more? "The average Filipino does not speak fluent English" She's absolutely right. The American and European multinationals hired the Filipinos as their primary call center agents (the Indians, second) and relocated their offices in the Philippines and India. There are also Filipinos whose English is fine. "when you ride in the Filipino tricycle like a dog." "The stray cats and dogs are not even allowed in Nigeria." "The people in the Philippines are small like kids." One Nigerian vlogger says that Filipinos tend to ask questions that are very personal. She's right and it is a bad Filipino culture. Just as brutal, are some Nigerians in comparing Nigeria to the Philippines. There is one who goes after the viewers, deals with every comment that he/she doesn't agree with especially if Filipinos say "We speak fluent English" and even asked one Filipino for a challenge--on speaking English? then says his/her vlogs are about positivity. ? Anyone who steps out of their country especially if they claim to be smart, should be smart to know that the country they've chosen would be different from their homeland. The Philippines or the world is not Nigeria. They should be aware of the Many Negatives of their own country before they say anything harsh about their visited country. Does this mean that there aren't nice Nigerians? The majority are wonderful, fun-loving and quick to laugh just like many Filipinos because they both love life. Did those Nigerians intend to offend when they said what they said? Does it mean that Nigerians have to say only the good stuffs about the Philippines? Definitely not. No matter how unintentioned their rough statements are, it is always fine to call or point them out. It would be really great if people would be mindful that if there's nothing good to say, don't say it, or say it acceptably at least, just like how westerners share what they find in the Philippines. Westerners ignore the little unimportant things done in the Philippines. Westerners share their observations nicely. To be honest, you're doing it the right way.
Lastly, neither the Philippines nor Nigeria is better than the other.

    Hello Dorcas.
I have a nigerian british friend, she's born here, she is a very smart and mature person for her age and I love her for that.
Through music also met a nigerian from nigeria his mathematician musician gentleman and his very smart and mature as well, his also very impressive. But I have also met a nigerian that anything he borrowed from me he never gives back and that put me off.
People really varies a lot and sometimes bad to worse.
I appreciate imparting your insight. I sort of glanced that your a nurse student? Not sure if your finished yet but did you know UK hires nurses here all the time? Look it up. I have a family and friends in USA as well they are nurses. Look up your options now you might find something you'd love.
You can always go back to the Phils and by a condo there if in the future you want that as your base. Focus on your future and before you know it you are living the life you intended.
Keep up the good work hun. You are one of a few that are globally educated because you immerse yourself in others culture and allow yourself to grow, it's a different level of intelligence. What you learn and how you grow your knowledge of the world is hard to understand for someone who never left their city let alone left their country.
You are doing well!! Take care and be safe always.

nigeria is 3x bigger than the philippines and 2x more populous too, nigeria is rich in minerals and natural resources and a major oil exporting nation, plenty of petro dollars... the philippines too is rich in natural resources but does not have large oil deposits vis a vis, not an oil exporting nation. nigeria is very rich country while the philippines may not be so poor but has a quite good economic fundamentals, better bussiness infrastractures and good urban planning to name few, gdp of nigeria is slightly bigger than philippines but our per capita is way much higher which is 8k usd while nigeria is 5.9k usd per year... nigeria is future economic power if its government will get their act together...

We're not poor. If not for the pandemic, we were on target to be an upper-middle-income country. And we get all of these stereotypes because most Filipinos who are against the current administration loves to bash the country. So, Filipinos themselves contribute to the stereotypes. Crazy, huh? Our GDP is nearing US$400 billion, while Nigeria is bigger at about $480 billion or something. Nigeria is richer in natural resources (I think) compared with the Philippines. However, I would say that even with the corruption in the Philippines, I think the level of corruption in Nigeria (according to my friend who is working there) is much worse than in the Philippines. Overall though, the Philippines is still well managed compared with Nigeria and that's considering Nigeria's infrastructure, utilities, and education. I forgot another Nigerian Vlogger (ruclips.net/video/zRc-A25gwVs/видео.html), but he pointed out precisely why criminality is such a problem in Nigeria. It is because your country does not have a Local Government like our Barangay System. I read your constitutional framework, and it says that in 1988, the State government usurped the Local Government. Hence, in Nigeria, there is no Local Government System like our Barangay System. Also, I believe Nigeria has many potentials to make it past the Philippines to be 1st world, and I would say that the problem in the government. While Nigeria is a Federal Government, which I am pushing for in the Philippines, Nigeria is a Federal Republic. I believe a Federal Parliamentary will improve the system in your country if your legislators will it to be.

It is good that you are referring to Nigeria. Never ever talk about Africa. I feel more safe in my African country than in Phil. From what yiu say, Nigeria seems a failed state. Sometimes, I feel that you praise Phili to make your life easy with Filipinos. There are goid and bad sides in every country. Nigeria is rich but the most corrupt leaders may be.

Nigeria produces more or less 2.5 million barrels of crude oil per day and about the 27th largest economy in the world. Oil is its major source of income but with bad government and more than 200 million people, it remains a poor country in terms of GDP per capita income. In comparison, the Philippines imports oil yet it's the 34th or 32th largest economy with over a hundred million people. If you compute the per capita income (GDP ÷ number people), you know which of the two countries is poorer.

Wow, miss!!! You are very intelligent person! Maybe, that bitter nigerian girl is a member of your northern tribe and that elder is her father. Because, they have the same line of thinking!😒😒😒 Btw... We, filipinos are keep on asking some african nationals, why they tend to study in the Philippines. Because, we, ourselves felt amazed and proud that our small islands grouped country is appreciated and known by Africa! Also, feeling proud and happy. Because, we are helping others fullfilling their own dreams!😊😊😊 Pinoy baiting or Filipino baiting accusation is GARBAGE! Anything and everything Filipino in RUclips vlogs are pinoy baiting. Then, if it is a bad thing. What kind of videos (vlogs), do Filipinos may watch? American themed? Chinese themed?😥😥😥

Yup .. And there's this idiot who leaves comments on videos with Filipino content made by foreign vloggers calling us "utu-uto" for watching. I mainly watch these videos for entertainment. If the foreign vloggers are earning some money from these videos, so be it! They should at least get something for their effort. Don't you pay for a ticket to watch a concert or movie, which in turn goes to the actors and producers of that concert or movie? That idiot who calls us "uto-uto" for watching these videos is like a 'gate-crasher" who, all of a sudden shows up in a party while everyone is enjoying and says, "Hey everyone here in this party, you are all "utu-uto" for being here and having a good time." Unfortunately, no matter how many times I reported this toxic negative loser to RUclips, I still see the idiot around. Oh well ..
