Did you also find this book slightly darken than most of Rick's books? I certainly thought it was a bit darker, and the violence and gore was slightly more graphic. I mean, you see the main character straight up murder someone. I quite liked the dark route this book took.
NotEveryoneIsAPotato hands down this is much darker. Murder, decapitations, you can see insinuations of other things, i.e. Apollo saying he flirted with the hunters "but never went further" implies he didn't made any physical advance on they. Also not dark but unusual, Apollo trying to flirt with Jimmy.
No spoilers but do you think Rick may have been setting up a new series focusing on African gods? He already has series with Greek, Roman, Norse, and Egyptian mythology so it would be cool to follow a new pantheon since Magnus Chase is ending this year.
Kevin Marques rick im pretty sure has said something along the lines of "i'm most familiar with greek and norse gods" and for that reason i don't think he's writing any african ones (he already has an egyptian one anyway) but he made his own publishing house thing for mythology by other authors? idek if that made sense
I just finished this book a couple minutes ago and I'm DYING. I can't believe I have to wait MONTHS for the next one. I am so excited to see how the story develops. I also was completely convinced that this series was only three books - so so happy it's a five-part series!!! Riordan knows what he's doing and every book he writes is entertaining and hilarious. But this book should have titled something like Apollo's adventures in Indianapolis. I had no idea we were going to spend the entire book there, but I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Are you excited to see more of Reyna (who's my favorite character btw) in the next book? I think she is going to be very important in the plot because of what piper told her in the end of the heroes of Olympus series ...
GAAAAAHHH I fell off the Rick Riordan bandwagon a while back (not for any particular reason), and now I'm torn between "THESE BOOKS SEEM AMAZING!!" and "OH MY GOD THERE ARE SO MANY BOOKS I'M COMPLETELY OVERWHELMED!!"
I never thought I'd say this but I like this series more than Percy's. Now, don't get me wrong, Percy will always be one of my favorite book character. But this series is about a god, with a thousand-years worth of experience, that has commited murder, has seen things, has experienced true love... ToA is so much deeper, darker, more mature and, personally, it brought out so many feels.
Ok I loved this book. It was amazing. The only thing was that every time calypso and Leo fight or they mention strains on their relationship I would drop my book and shout "HE WOULDNT DARE"
Have you also read Kane Chronicles? I find that many people who say they read every single book of Rick haven't read Kane Chronicles or don't like it at all (it is my favorite finished series from Rick ❤)
That's true, and sadly I haven't read it Dx but I really want to. I always phrase (or try to cuz I didn't on my first comment, oops x.x) that I have read all of Rick's books based on mythology
December Vesalius there is a range of stories mashed up into one story arc where the KANE siblings meet Percy and Annabeth to defeat an opposing threat who doesn’t just pose a threat to Greek gods but all gods of different aspects! It’s called ‘Demigods and Magicians’. It’s short but if you like both series, you will like this book
That was a great review! I loved it, so five fucking stars out of five for me. I was happy to see Leo again, and Calypso. Leo's loose entertaining personality looks enough to make him the most beloved character of all in the Camp Half-Blood universe. The ending was perfect too even though that was a cliffhanger.
I feel so bad for reading this series without having read any other books by Rick Riorden. I feel out of the loop with all the characters. I really love this series so far so I NEED to get on this Riorden bandwagon!
the problem I have with his book, is that I instantly forget what happend in the last couple of books. I had 70 per cent of the time no idea what was going on. But it was still amazing
One thing that turned me away from these books originally is that it’s not from the view of any of the main characters that we know and love ( mainly Percy and Annabeth ), but if you accept that this is a new book and isn’t telling the story of the two then it’s a good read SPOILER WARNING , Apollo whilst being a selfish minded brat is extremely funny and has lots of deep demons that makes the story very interesting an engaging to read like the relationship between commodus he had and why he killed him, and also with him having to meet his son as the oracle who hates Apollo for not saving agamethus, also Apollo’s relationship with Meg blossoms a lot in this book. I don’t particularly like Apollo as a character though just because of his selfish mindset even though he really isn’t selfish as shown through his actions.
(SPOILERS FOR MAGNUS CHASE.) Since last October, I've been reading the Percy Jackson series and Heroes of Olympus series from beginning to end in preparation for Trials of Apollo. That's 4,455 pages of supplemental reading all because Percy Jackson was hinted as being in the next Magnus Chase book and I hadn't read any of Riordan's other series before now.
I've never read anything like that. I think now I've started a channel I might have to spread my wings and try! I guess I was never been encouraged to look at books aimed boys when I was a kid. You are so enthused about it I may give it a go :) xx
I made my parents buy the book and it took me about 2 and a half days. While there is another book with less pages i got for Christmas I still haven't finished.
I personally believe CHB, House of Life, CJ & Hotel Valhalla are gonna team up and fight the Triumvirate Holdings, if it's true they're behind everything including Kronos' campaign and that.. then they're behind Gaea's awakening, Aphopis' rise and POSSIBLY triggered Ragnarok.
Its not really necessary. Anything that refers to the first book tends to be reiterated throughout the story, but overall this sequel isn't dependent on book 1. I was planning to reread and then just decided to delve right into book 2, and I still could understand what was happening, so I think you're good with not rereading.
I'm still hoping Reyna and Apollo as a couple even though it seems kind of far fetched. Rick Riordan hasn't introduced a love interest yet, so my mind is absolutely brainstorming about the possibilities.
Emily Chau I found that to be quite funny indeed! I mean I lowkey ship him with Meg, but that would be pedophile. I mean Calypso is like more then 4000 years old and together with Leo, but still.
Actually, I've considered Meg and Apollo too because he honestly talks and mentions her constantly. I didn't want to entertain the thought though. We can say he cares for her. Meg is pretty much 12 years old at this point. Not to mention that 12 year olds aren't really thinking about romance.
I got super bored in the start and middle, even if it's funny the plot just didn't suck me in. Then towards the end I got more into it, but all in all it's a 2.5/5 starts for me.
Did you also find this book slightly darken than most of Rick's books? I certainly thought it was a bit darker, and the violence and gore was slightly more graphic. I mean, you see the main character straight up murder someone. I quite liked the dark route this book took.
You know, I hadn't thought about that but I you're right! Definitely more of an emphasis on the consequences of killing and death
BookBuyingByBudget guys Spoilers sssssshhh

NotEveryoneIsAPotato Yeah I definitely feel this book is a lot more mature.
Bc that's what greek mythology is all about treason and u have a horrid fate

I"d LOVE that!

I love Rick Riordan too! He is one of my favorite authors and I don't care what age I am or will be I will always read his books!

Ketsia Mayenne oh I love Percy so much still, but here we see darker themes. And it gets so complicated with his own descendants 🙈love it so much!!
Ok I loved this book. It was amazing. The only thing was that every time calypso and Leo fight or they mention strains on their relationship I would drop my book and shout "HE WOULDNT DARE"

The Trials of Apollo series sounds really awesome! I'm adding it to my to be read list for the future! Oh so many books that I want to read! :O

natwixterthan18 Yes! Please do! It's amazing!
natwixterthan18 you won't regret it. From PJO to HoO (both series) are incredible for all ages! Not only children.
Thank God for this non spoiler review. I haven't read mine yet.
the problem I have with his book, is that I instantly forget what happend in the last couple of books. I had 70 per cent of the time no idea what was going on. But it was still amazing
Cassandra Stell Read the first book agian! It has already been a full year since the release of that book. So it's normal if you tend to forget.
I still haven't read the first book yet and I definitely want to start this series!
I FREAKING LOVE RICK RIORDAN that is all

I would be happy about a short hair style tutorial. love your hair

Mere I Iove you for this
Mere you are amazing

This series keeps getting better and better! Gods I can't wait for the next book😄

The Son of Hades-Maybe
I haven't read the book but I would like to know if Percy and Annabeth make an appearance in this book????
Nope
thanks
Nope. And that's because they'll be too busy helping Magnus Chase!
No but Percy does in the first book!
CDHfilms Whaaat I didnt know Percy was in magnus chase now I gotta read it!!
Idk but I kinda ship, Lit and Lester/Apollo!!
I want to read this SOO bad but I can't . I have to study because I got finals coming 🙄
same
Inever mark my books but I just HAD to highlight the blue taters part LOL PERCY WHAT DID YOU DO😂
taken the book aside for just a second: Your hair looks great! (...just wanted to say that...) please continue :-)
I seriously can't see the point behind this battle. Leo alone could torch the entire Triamverate. They need 5 books to do that?
i cannot find the hard cover kind of trials of apollo book 1 and 2
Should I reread the first one before reading the second?
Its not really necessary. Anything that refers to the first book tends to be reiterated throughout the story, but overall this sequel isn't dependent on book 1. I was planning to reread and then just decided to delve right into book 2, and I still could understand what was happening, so I think you're good with not rereading.
Where did Leo come from anyway?
Is there any site to read or download this book for free?
Check out Novels Nook channel, a up and coming booktube channel that's going to be great!
i want u to review chetan bhagat's books
I have it
I'm still hoping Reyna and Apollo as a couple even though it seems kind of far fetched. Rick Riordan hasn't introduced a love interest yet, so my mind is absolutely brainstorming about the possibilities.
Emily Chau Well, He liked Jamie. Kinda, maybe?
Nah. I remember Jamie mentioned having a girlfriend. Apollo found Jamie attractive, but once he found out that fact, he was like "Welp".
Emily Chau I found that to be quite funny indeed! I mean I lowkey ship him with Meg, but that would be pedophile. I mean Calypso is like more then 4000 years old and together with Leo, but still.

Emily Chau True. MAY THE SHIP SAAAAAIILLLLLL
Im Subbing 😘 love your vids
