I plan to start my online tutoring business this year by May 2023. I'm not sure if you are still posting seeing that your last was 2 years ago. I am going through SAB and I have a private coach to have a social enterprise tutoring business. Thank you for the lessons on start-up costs. I can't wait to get started!
I appreciate your videos so much!!! I am a full time teacher, working for a district. Remote learning/teaching has taught me many valuable lessons. One in particular is that if I'm going to work this hard, I should be doing it with smaller groups of children and without the headache that comes from mandates of the district. It's a disaster and the pressure on teachers is unbelievable. I'd like to see videos on both Scheduling and TMS. I saw your post from the other day - please remember to give yourself grace. I'm working on that too. No rush on the videos, please take care. I'll be here when you post them. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend
Hi there! Thanks so much for your kind comment!! It means so much that you took the time to share. Also, I really appreciate the reminder to give myself grace! Are you on Instagram? I'd love to connect with you there! @sonia_teach.
Hi, totally agree about the part of having a mentor. It would be good if I had a mentor when I started my tutoring business, so that I don't have to learn by trial and error. Btw, saw the advertisements. Congrats for being monetized!
Thank you for watching my videos and leaving comments, i always enjoy hearing from you!! And thank you! It was a long process between reaching the requirements and actually getting accepted, so I plan to share the journey in a future video!
Hi Ahsan! Yes I'll add it to my list of future video topics. 🤗 The mentor was just a fellow online tutor, and for her privacy I don't want to disclose her name! If you're looking for mentoring, I actually offer 1:1 mentoring as well as group coaching. Learn more here! www.soniateach.com/services
What bout the legal side of the business? Did you form a sole proprietorship or LLC or anything? What about accounting? I'm in the process of starting a mountain bike instructing business but those are my biggest hang ups
I'm not an expert in this area so for more clarification I would refer to a local tax professional, but if you're in the US, I'll share what I did. I started as a sole proprietor and formed an LLC when I started coaching other tutors. I recommend forming an LLC so that your personal assets are separate from your business. In terms of accounting, I've taken a few courses that helped me learn how to do bookkeeping and taxes on my own. I talk about managing money in this video (check the timestamps in the description) ruclips.net/video/tEaXIbnA4VM/видео.html
Hi, I am planning to start my own tutoring business. You mentioned a platform you had a membership with that helped you get started. What is the name of the platform and your mentor?
Hey Tereva! The membership was the Insiders Secrets Club by Joanne Kaminski. Since then she's a created an offer called Jumpstart Your Online Tutoring Business for people just getting started, which might be helpful for you! Also, if you're a customer of mine you get access to a bonus customers only FB group. If you've purchased a product, look out for an email with a link to join the group!
@@soniateach Thank you so much for your quick response. I did get the email to join your FB group. I have to first create a FB account. Once I do that, I will join.
