- The Young and the Restless stars: Joshua Morrow (Nick), Sharon Case (Sharon) and Camryn Grimes (Ex-Cassie, now Mariah) chat with Michael Fairman in this exclusive conversation for The Michael Fairman Channel about the classic episode of Cassie's Death from back in 2005. This week on Y&R, the show is airing an encore presentation of one of the most emotional moments in soap history, and the trio share their remembrances of taping those scenes.
In addition, Y&R is back in production amid the coronavirus pandemic, and Joshua, Sharon and Camyrn talk about how it feels to finally be back at the studio taping new episodes, and much more.

I cannot express how much I LOVE this interview. The fact that they still tear up 15 years later is a testament to the storyline and their relationships.

If you look at the rich tapestry of American daytime dramas, Cassie's death is one of the all time iconic episodes and will remain so always. Excellence from all 3. #YR forever. 💕
Started crying 10 minutes into the episode and never stopped. My wife, who doesn’t get into this stuff, tried talking to me toward the end and got a very loud shhhhhhhh from me because I was so into it, even the 3rd time watching. Great work everybody! So glad they found a way to get Camryn back.
That was so sad .I had trouble holding back the tears. I didn't know it was airing again so unfortunately I missed it. I still want Nick and Sharon back together.

I was 15 when this aired and I remember having my vcr set to record the episode while I was in school. It BROKE me. Ive only watched it once. The second time was when they re-aired in on tv. I still miss Cassie. Love Mariah. But losing Cassie? It still hurts! One of the most gut wrenching storylines. Josh, Camryn, and Sharon really, REALLY brought it.

Nick and Sharon will always be my favorite couple because of storylines like this. The emotion and conversation that there scene Drive is amazing. I love hearing there thoughts on Cassie’s death. Just hearing them talk about honestly got me a little teary-eyed lol.
I love watching the old episodes but I still wand Sharon and Nick together, I never like them with other people everytime I watch them on Y&R I'm still waiting for something to spark them getting back together.
Same! Feels to me like everytime the story begins to go that way, the writers do something to purposely drive them apart. I mean, Nick has broken up and gotten back together with Phyllis like 5 or 6 times, and it lasts anywhere from several months to a couple of years, while he's tried to get back with Sharon 2 or 3 times and it lasts anywhere from a week to a few months. The first time it was because of Summer's peanut allergy, when Crazy Patty "poisoned" her. The second time was because Phyllis woke up from her coma and crashed their wedding, and the last time was because once again Nick tumbled into bed with Phyllis. It's like, "Oh, come on! Give us a break and give Nick and Sharon a fair shot at being together!"
Family that is what they were and still are.

These 2 haee been my favorite on young and the restless since they started. I grew up from an early age watching the young and the restless with my mom.

What a lie. Everybody knows that the show is bad and the actor and actresses can't act.
As sad as it was I loved that episode. To this day I don't know how they didn't all get Emmy awards. Amazing performances from all!
I can not imagine ever replacing them in their rolls. They are Y&R lifers. I was so thrilled when the brought Camron back.

I still remember watching it the first time in shocked disbelief. I remember blurting out. I can’t believe they let Cassie die. It felt so real....so gut wrenching. Incredible body of work by all of you

This was so awesome! Literally almost all my Y&R faves (missing Cait🤣). I love the respect this cast has for each other. But Camryn is just my absolute favorite so much class, humility, talent, humor and beauty all in one actress! I’m such a huge fan♥️

Time for the writers to understand that Sharon's and Nick's relationship needs to be re-established....they never truly healed from Cassie's death and there would be some good material if they really got to discuss the pain, self blame, blame in general, parenting styles etc that revolved around Cassie's death....they both keep dating other people but the way Nick pursued Sharon and Sharon genuinely loves Nick they are simply end game like Nikki and Victor
Ms Michelle absolutely right they never heal need to be together in Myria death and she told Nick and Sharon they are going to have another child that shows the always Nick and Sharon have a connection!!

What an interview! Been a fan since the beginning, running home from HS to watch! Bought my FIRST 8-track recorder to JUST for Y&R! Having a daughter 14 years old at the time of Cassie's death was RAW EMOTION for me and my daughter. I have to admit, watching all the historical episodes has been GREAT! WOW how young we were (Nickie is my age) and how WELL we've aged! LOL!

I watched this many times and never can keep from bawling my heart out I have lost my son 14 years ago so I can tell you it was the best scene of a moment like that I have ever seen. It was very real.
This was such a good interivew because I literally stopped watching the show when they killed off Cassie. I felt that this conversation was needed because I always wondered how the cast felt when they got hit with the news that they were letting Camryn go. Thank you so much for doing this interview! The Grace/Sharon/Nick/Cassie storyline was classic!!
Especially Amelia Heinle. She started on the show in '05 & then her character's niece dies. I'd love to hear how she took the news about Camryn's departure.
This has been the very best update. Love Sharon and Nick . Thanks Michael for bringing this to us fans. I watched this replay of Cassies death and it was so very real. I’ve lost a child, and it’s so emotional.

I watched this episode several times, and each time I bawled like It was my child Dying!!! The actors make it a legendary show and show their talent!!! Since 73 this show has been a must watch for me and I can't imagine ever not having it to watch!!! The story lines and the actors have given me the most epic stories!! Y&R has always focused on many relevant, relatible problems!! And has been very socially aware of what the world needs to focus on!!!!! Thank you Mr. And Mrs. Bell for the very best show EVER AIRED!!!!!!!

I have to say that Cassie's death on the show was a tough episode to rewatch today....but there was another episode many years later that haunts me just as much....and that was when little Delia Abbott was run over by a car by Adam Newman and killed on Halloween. Billy and Chloe's suffering of the loss of that child continues to this day on this show.
That ep was sooo hard to watch. It bothers me that to this day there are people who don't think Adam did it. He totally did and that was a catalyst for so much to come on the show.
@@suzyparker8303 Adam almost hit Dash (Delia's dog). Billy killed her by leaving her in the car. How's he blameless?
Yes, I’ve always wondered why Billy has not been recognized as the one responsible! His role should be CONSUMED with guilt and not revenge for what was clearly an accident for Adam! And I don’t even like Adam! Delias death is 100% on Billy!

I watched all this week and saw again Cassie's death and bawled my eyes out, so I can understand Joshua not wanting to watch it. He is right when he says there has been just too much sadness this year. Not only did Kobe die in that plane crash, but his daughter was there with him; another young person lost too soon.
I was not aware they were filming again. I was so excited to hear that and cannot wait to see some new episodes. I'm not sure I remember where the story lines left off though, so I hope they will review some more recent shows to catch us up.

What a great interview (as always with Michael)! Such a heavy topic but the humour in the interview lightened it up & lets face it, we all need to laugh this year. One of my favourite things is when Nick called Cassie squirt. I don't remember if I watched the episode when it first aired but I watched it this wk. Emmy worthy performances right there. It makes you do the ugly cry. Sharon & Josh should have been nominated & won. I was a kid when Cassie was alive. She was adorable & I wish I could see all those episodes. Camryn is a terrific actress & we may have lost Cassie's innocence but now we have Mariah's spunk. I had a brain infection when I was 5 & my sister died as a toddler so I'm sure my parents felt pain & fear like Sharon & Nick
