    The full length documentary covers the history of railroads in the Northern and Southern Catskills from beginnings to current days. It features historians, vintage film, images and postcards. The documentary covers the Catskill and Canajoharie, the New York, Ontario & Western, the Ulster and Delaware/Stony Clove and Kaaterskill branches, the NY Central, the Delaware and Northern, the Catskill Mountain Railway/Otis Elevating Railway plus an expanded section on current tourist lines operating in the Catskills.

    Very interesting. I'm into the old railroads. I stopped at the VFW, down in Wurtsboro, they had a garage sale. It was an old station from way back. I bought a book while I was there. The book had all the old track plans in it. It showed the old tunnel thru the mountain. It would be a nice train ride from there up to Kingston. The roadbed is there but no tracks. We camp there during the summer. I'm going to bring my Grand kids up your way to take a ride. Thanks for the video.

    Love What The CMRR Is Trying To Achieve!!! It Would Be A Historical Asset To This Area If We Had A passenger Steamer Going From Kinston To The Catskills!!! People would come from all over the world to ride a steamer into the Catskills & bring much needed Tax revenue to this area while Preserving our history!!!

    The guys who know all about the locomotives, etc. are Catskill Mountain RR...I'm a lowly filmmaker living close by...but there are no steam engines in use, although I have seen parts in their rail yard. Check their web site and Facebook pages for info and their current political struggle.

    You guys and gal's are legends. One day I wish to see your railroad (Australian) and ride on it, well done. Do any of the steam engines still exist from these roads?..Cheers, Stefan.

    Are these the tracks of the railroad that went by Cus D'Amato 's gym in the Catskills,?

      @tobecarey2455  Год назад +1

      The old Catskill Mountain Railway did start in Catskill, but I don't know where the gym was, or if the tracks passed it. Thanks for your interest.

    100 years too late. Air conditioning was invented, nice college project. MAGLEV is the way to go. You are not competing with reality of the crowds want - speed.
