She just radiates enthusiasm. I'm so happy for her. When you love what you do, there really is no distinctino between work and play. Wishing her the best now that she's a grownup. And my advice? Gather students around you. They (and you) will be much the better for it.
You've always been a very cheerful person throughout your videos but in this one you reeeeally radiate a lot of joy and happiness :)
She's definitely an inspiration.
Sadly, it is just a weeeee bit much for ME. 🙂
I completely agree
Travel can be stressful, so the fact that you and Mark became closer during this trip shows how compatible you are.
I’m graduating from my internship in April. After that I decided to go to Japan with my husband to see a friend and family member. It’s such a huge accomplishment especially during the pandemic. I don’t think people understand how the pandemic strips a lot of joy from school and it becomes a grind to finish. But congrats again! This trip seemed like the refresher you needed.
Congrats and enjoy the trip - Japan is on our list too!!
It doesn't matter if you are in Ontario or in America, Thank you for your service!
As a fellow violinist, I'd love to see violin content! I love that you were able to take a trip and get out into nature. You're just glowing!
Siobhan you deserved this trip! Following you over the years it is so obvious how hard of a worker you are and just how deeply you care for your patients. I’m so happy to see your shining face uploading again!
That walk with your husband and parents sounds like a dream come true! Thank you for sharing!
You've worked so hard. I'm glad your trip helped you and your husband to become stronger and give clarity on what's really important. We love you and this channel. Blessings always.
Your positivity is infectious! Your content is great and with all the negativity around us, you are a breath of fresh air. I’m inspired to get off my lazy butt and go take a long walk…even if it’s pouring outside 😂Your hiking adventure sounds awesome ! Keep on keepin’ on.
As a fellow life-long learner, I can totally relate to the "not taking exams any more". People who really nurture their passion for learning do not need an external authority gauging their progress. It's more fun without exams. :-)
Love how you put this - yes absolutely!!
After I passed the California Bar I remember sobbing that I never had to take another test.
I thought the same thing. Now my employer values external certification and I do take many tests again. But they feel different and similar at the same time. But learning is my passion.
My last comment hahah
Watching you grow as a doctor has been sooo humbling. Knowing that there’s kind, compassionate, passionate and caring doctors in my country makes my heart so full. Thank you for allowing us to follow you on this journey all these years. Cannot wait to see what the future brings you and Mark ♥️ sending so much love and gratitude from Alberta 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
WOW, you seem so happy and light!!! Not only did this trip rejuvenate you, I have a feeling that it will also translate into more amazing things for your patients as well. glad to see you again!!!!
The vibe you give off is so refreshing! I'm certain your patients will also feel and appreciate it as well!
I'm currently studying for the MCAT to take it in the spring. I've always known I wanted to be a physician since I was 4 but only recently have I developed a maturity to understanding what a career in medicine and what type of physician I want to be - especially given that I have no one close to me or in my family that has gone into medicine. I usually dislike watching "medical school" or "medical" influencers but your honesty, openness, and warmness without seeming discouraging or pretentious stood out to me from your first video I came across maybe 2 weeks ago - one of your 24 hour+ shifts as a resident. Thank you for sharing so much of your journey. This video was so insightful and I am happy to now be a subscriber! ☺
Thank you and welcome! So glad you enjoyed the videos and best of luck studying for the MCAT!
Hi, I’m a C5 Quad and love your videos I have been watching you for a while and I am glad that you will be making more soon. Keep up the great work. You are an awesome doctor. and I thank you for everything that you do.
You smiled so happily talking about your experience there - so good to see you that refreshed ❤
As someone with Dysautonomia/POTS it’s incredibly cool to get to see a hike through your eyes. Thanks for sharing! I can’t even stand long enough to do the dishes right now but hoping that one day I can go hike that same route you took! Slow and steady..
Siobhan, you are serious 🌟 I feel you are a great friend that I totally look up to.
Thanks Brian!
Sp happy for you. Thank you for sharing.taking time for ones self is always a great thing to do...
Welcome back. I always enjoy your positivity and enthusiasm.
I am very that our workaholic Dr. Siobhan relaxed herself during this trip so happy for you. Can't wait to learn more from you more about medical.❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
That sounds like an amazing trip. I was in a similar situation where when I was in school I didn't realize exactly how miserable I felt but then I got to summer break and it was like I was finally back to my old self again. School can really take it out of you when you're putting your all into it and it's always great when you're able to finally get a break to get back to you.
Siobhan you’re an inspiration! And what an adventure, the sights must have been breathtakingly beautiful.
Absolutely love all your videos Siobhan, this trip seemed life changing 🌍 So happy you guys enjoyed the journey, made awesome memories and got back home safely 🙏 So looking forward to all your upcoming videos ☺️ And congratulations for finishing residency and pass all your exams 🎉💐
Thank you so much!
I’ve missed your hospital vlogs Siobhan, congrats on graduating and the hike
You and your mom are TWINS! That’s awesome! 🤗🥳
ALMOST A MILLION SUBS....WOOHOO! You and your Mom just have to be told constantly that you two are Sisters!😄Just the mere fact of being on another Continent mind boggling, but to see the Stunning scenery views, the Architect, and the all around activities of another Country are very cool! That Trip will no doubt be Tattooed on ALL of your Souls forever and rightly so! Really fun to see you away hospitals, scrubs and patients and just having some Living Time was great! Thank you for feeling comfortable to share your positivity with The Violin MD Posse who Love Riding With You In Here! Cheers From COW-lumbus, Ohio MOO TO ALL
Aw thank you so much!! I agree this was unforgettable!!
I don’t check into RUclips much lately, but im glad you popped up when I finally did 😊
You look so happy and excited. Good for you, you go girl!! 🌹🌹
I’m happy you are back safely. ..👍 Can’t wait for your next video.
You are very blessed in so many ways. Few people could do all that you do and are so capable. Your teaching skills are great! Wish you were my doctor. :)
I'm glad you are back, that you had a great time, and are ready to start recording again. I haven't missed a single episode during your journey to become a specialist.. i love your enthusiasm and wish you and your husband the best life ever.
Wahoo - welcome back. I’m so pleased to hear that your journey was such a success for both you and Mark. I look forward to seeing what you bring us looking forward. ❤
Oh my goodness. You are such a beautiful person inside and out. You have awesome parents. I love your videos and can't wait to see what's next. God bless you always.
I found myself smiling with you watching this! So happy for you!!! ❤
Aw thank you, that’s so sweet!
This was so nice to watch! I'm actually in the middle of a huge transition myself and it's so nice to hear you talk so open and positive about it, it's giving me lots of motivation.
I'm from the Netherlands, where cycling is the main mode of transportation for most, perhaps it'll be a nice next travel destination😊
Yes! This is really high on our list and I’ve watched many videos about the amazing cycling culture! (Have you ever heard of the channel Not Just Bikes?)
@@ViolinMD I have not, but I'm going to look it up! Thank you! ☺️ looking forward to the videos of this new phase😊✨
Your excitement is infectious 💗 Thank you
Hi Siobhan, what a great video. The scenery is just beautiful. It's so refreshing to see someone who is down to earth! You are so lucky to have a great relationship with your husband and parents. God's blessings to all of you.
I'm so happy you took time to refill your cup! Please make it a point to give yourselves regular breaks from life to enjoy the things that make you feel fulfilled outside of work.
Welcome back! Thank you for sharing your residency journey and also your hiking journey. May the next chapter be as rewarding and exciting as the last two! Do not stop dreaming! 🙂
Aww thank you! ❤️
It’s lovely to see you back again, you have been missed. The trip looked just wonderful, you were so lucky to be able to do that with mark and your parents too.
I for one would love more violin!
Here’s to your next chapter.
This was really nice. We live near the mountains and dad hikes daily (environmental biologist)he has always said nature puts us in touch with who we really are. Sadly diagnosed with cancer 2 weeks ago, and the day I took him in he had already hiked his 4 miles for the day.
Currently studying for my Royal College, and it was nice to live vicariously through you for just a moment. I showed this to my wife and we would love to do something similar to this after my residency :)
Oh mannnnn you must be getting close to the exam now! I can promise life gets better after - this is definitely the toughest part! Good luck with the RC!
Thank you! :)
Your mom really said "copy+paste" when she had you! Y'all are both beautiful! ❤️
Thanks for sharing your adventure with us! Sounds so beautiful. Excited to hear about the new plans!
your excitement is contagious. You're beaming 🥰 love this for you
Thank you, thank you my wife and I are changing our lives because you & Mark make us feel much better and sharing your wisdom.
Love you and your husband so much! Thank you for all the education and time you spend on us. It means so incredibly much! Clayton Silva
You are just such a burst of thoughtful positivity and joy. I’m happy you had such a great trip and these wonderful insights!
Welcome back! It's wonderful to hear your enthusiasm.
I’m so happy to see you in a new video. You look amazing 🤩 You look refreshed , happy and healthy. Ready to take on the next chapter. Well deserved.❤😊
You’re such a light, I’m glad you’re back and that you had such a wonderful experience on your journey! I cannot wait for what’s to come in your upcoming videos❤
It is a pilgrims humility that finds a grateful heart… well done
Welcome back! I did two weeks walking some parts of the Camino in France a few years back. It was a great experience. Glad you enjoyed yours.
What a trip! I only wish I could do something like that! When I graduated from pharmacy school,I went right to work after taking my boards. Of course I had a house to pay for. In hindsight, I would take a trip before going to work full time . Wishing you the best. I'm glad you're making conscious decisions to be more athletic!
I live in switzerland and am happy to see that the beauty of the alps and hiking seems to be universal around the globe.
You are a very beautiful person, and I was encouraged a lots from you. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this experience with us! Glad you are graduated! I remember watching you when you first started this journey! You're an inspiration
Thank you Shevaun for sharing your life with us. I get so much enjoyment from the way you input story mode into your videos. Thank you for inviting me along on your journey. This native Texan has learned so much from your journey. After 5 years of Bible college and 2 years of junior college I find that you never really stop learning. A life long student is who I've become. I too want to start walking more now that I have my diet and nutrition nailed in. I've lost 210 pounds as of this day! I want to get down to 187 pounds.
Moving is such a great and natural way to reset! I started running a year ago and my life as changed so much!
Love heading that - I also have started running since we finished the walk!
So happy to hear that you are coming back, and I’m glad to you have a much needed time to rewind
Welcome back, I'm glad you and Mark had such a great time! Sounds like it was a much needed break and an amazing experience.
I'm an obese person with multiple medical conditions, including fibromyalgia and suspected lupus. And I've wondered if I just took off on a similar journey, although maybe a little less intense, how great that would be for my health. I'm just tired of not living. Your video just makes me want to do it more.
Hi! So glad to hear your reaction to the video. I would chat with your doctor to make sure it’s safe for you (since I don’t know the details of your conditions)… and with lupus suspected you should cover up as much as I did to protect from the sun! There are so many blogs out there of people going on through-walks and feeling huge benefits. Perhaps read up on the Camino de Santiago? It’s a very popular hike in Spain! Wishing you all the best!
@@ViolinMD Thanks so much Siobhan! I'll take care to be safe. Looking forward to your next videos 🥰
What an amazing experience! I’m so glad you took the opportunity. Also, your mom looks like a sister!
Wow Siobhan! thank you for sharing your beautiful experience with us. I’m so happy you took this much needed break.
Well done to the both of you. Your amazing x
I truly look forward to your videos. I literally binged watched almost all the doctor related ones and a couple of the violin ones. Thank you for doing this
i love your videos! thank you for always inspiring the people around you and the You Tube community.
So excited for you and Mark! What a wonderful experience you shared with us. You are one of my favorite RUclipsrs and can't wait to share in your future journeys!
It's great that you wanted to clear your mind and try something new. Thank you for what you do.
Loveeeeee watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your life stories with us!! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm really looking forward to seeing your future as you create it! You have the drive and determination to become a doctor, and you can apply the same approach to any other goal you set for yourself.
What an amazing journey!!! It’s like a dream for so many others and you made it HAPPEN!!! It’s so nice to see you glowing with happiness, although I can’t remember a video where you weren’t constantly happy!!!!!
🚶🏼⛰️ 💙 🚵🏽♀️
So proud of you and Mark 🌞 Happy for you both to get the break you needed and deserve, it's great too see you both in happier places after all your hard work. 😊
Also, want to thank you for continuing to post videos. You're such an inspiration. I have a handful of subs I watch on RUclips and that's it, I'm always happy to see you! 💕
Welcome back and congratulations on your epic trek.
You look so HAPPY! 😊
I’m so happy to see you so happy! I love making other people happy and seeing You so happy and how much love and excitement this has brought you is so beautiful 💜🖤👽🖤💜
Congratulations on all your accomplishments!
it's cool to see how far you've come over the past few years, I've been here since you were a first year medical resident :) i graduated university into covid and i've been living with my parents but it's had its upside, i've been lucky enough to be in a place where i didn't have to find work right away and i was able to sit and think about what i wanted to do and what kind of life i wanted to live, and i also met my partner during this time and it was so cool to see someone with the same values as me and who wanted to live the same kind of life i wanted to... so everything you said about that in this video really is pertinent to my own life which is cool :) also i totally agree about walking, i try to go on a walk everyday because it is so meditative
Siobhan, I love when you’re genuinely excited and smiling about your passions! That’s great you had an amazing trip with your parents and husband- yay for you and Mark! ❤️ Please DO post a violin video by the way! 🎻
Siobhan, your triumphs are spectacular ! No car here - so used to schlepping balanced yet heavy packages, walking up 6 flights of stairs most days. Eat lunch and dinner combined. Doctors say I look much younger than almost 64. One takeaway for your devoted audience: Just because some parents, like mine, were always sick, and now long gone - -> It's not all in the genes 😮 !
This video was so exciting and inspiring, I actually found myself smiling from start to finish! Hahah delighted you've had a well deserved break :)
So glad to have you back on the vlogs! Thank you so much for sharing this personal experience with us! So happy for you, Mark, and your family! Looking forward to continuing
To follow you! Thank you, again, for sharing!
Love your haircut! You are your mother's daughter, wow. The resemblance is strong.
Haha so true!! And thank you!
A truly incredibly genuine and amazing person 👊
I’m so glad your back!!! Your parents look so young. I thought they were your siblings lol. I’m really proud of you that hard thing to do. That hike looked so beautiful. I missed seeing your vlogs!!! You looked so good!!!
i was pre-med in college and particularly lucky to be invited to join a small number of others in a group set up by the head of the medical service at the attached college for women to discuss what he considered the REAL HEART of clinical medicine-the physician-patient relationship. Every week across the year we heard from and discussed this with some of the most eminent (and humane) physicians in Boston and its surround. A never-to-be-forgotten experience that fixed in my mind the rare character and qualities of a great physician . . . and in my mind a great "humane" being. (In vivo, rara avis, I've found.) Everything I've seen of *you* with actual patients (e.g., in Guyana, occasionally elsewhere) and your colleagues reminds me of those discussions. SO, in this later era of Big Business/HMO, largely forced high-throughput medicine, MY QUESTION TO YOU IS: Do you (and Mark) believe what Carl Binger taught us years ago about the quintessential importance of the "doctor-patient relationship" in clinical practice? Many thanks . . . ha ha, for your "infectious" energy and positive, high spirits!
Glad you brought this up! I think this type of doctor patient relationship is critical - rather than the strictly paternalistic approach to medicine that was quite common in the past. I must say my medical training has also strongly instilled these concepts!
@@ViolinMD I figured as much; you ae TERRIFIC! Since you're a rhematologist, I'l mention this oldie because you mentioned pathology recently: A cardiologist (or rheumatologist) knows everything and does nothing. An orthopaedist knows nothing and does everything. A Pathologist knows everything and does everything . . . . BUT it's always a day late! Hugs!
You're just an amazing human being ❤️
Welcome back! Looking forward to new videos.
I enjoy your videos so much! Your down to earth approach is refreshing! If you continue taking long hikes, I hope you will take us with you. One of the ways I deal with stress is to watch RUclips videos of folks who hike the Pacific Crest and Appalachian Trails. There are some breath taking places on this planet. Thank you for providing such interesting content. Keep it up!
So happy for you that you were able to take this time away! I would love to see a more in depth video on your relationship with music. My degrees are in music and I switched to finance, so I went through a sort of similar process of extreme studying and crazy hours (though not as crazy as yours!) and became detached from my musical self. Working on finding my way back in a way that works for me. It shouldn't be such a challenge, but it is!
Thank you for showing such love and appreciation for my country❤ Love from Tuscany
So glad to see you back looking forward to seeing your next vlog
I needed this !! Currently going through something like this … I feel so burnt out . & you gave me a idea on how to get back to myself
Couldn't help but smile while watching your video! I'm about to graduate with my undergrad and have some big decisions ahead of me in terms of medical school and just future life, and this video just really inspired me :) I got to go to Europe with my friend over Christmas Break and it was MAGICAL. I seriously felt SO alive and just happy, and it's really made me want to remember how to stay grounded even with everything that's coming in my future. Thank you so much for your video! I loved it!
Your enthusiasm is infectious! Love your content and look forward to your future videos! Glad you all got to experience such a beautiful experience.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us! As a French speech and language therapist, I really enjoy your medical content but most of all I enjoy your wonderful personnality and positivity. You are a true inspiration. Thank you for sharing with us! ♡
I really like your positivity and how you're being yourself, unlike some other popular streamers. Keep that up, though don't be afraid to feel bad (we all have ups and downs in life, so don't force yourself too much to be happy all the time)! :)
I'm more of an engineering guy myself, but the world of medicine always fascinated me, I absolutely love your videos, always entertaining and informative keep on doing what you love!
I like this a lot. I been running, a few days a week and I keep trying to find rhythm, I'm not quite used to it yet, somedays I feel so tired.
But is something I want to make a part of a daily routine. I'm 30 now and I feel like I should be more mobile.
Thank you for showing us your trip. I may never get a chance to do something like that so it was really incredible to get to see it!
