This is a game changer for me. I've struggled with my customer avatar and have been scared to raise my prices even though my competitors already have. I'm going to build my brand(s) by honing in on my "person" Amazing tips 💰💰💰Thank you 😊
So refreshing! So many “amazon advisors” insist that price dropping is essential, which is what held me back from getting on that channel for years. High quality products aren’t cheap & savvy consumers know that. This helped boost my confidence in knowing that sticking with my ideal customer is still best & that trying to appeal to the bargain shoppers isn’t something I ever have to do to do well. Thx for the tips! (Sorry to hear about your cat 😢)
Ryan Daniel Moran I know! Which is why I like to soak up as much of your tips as I can. Biz minded brains are best & you’ve got a great one! Thanks for all the insights. 😀
It really does come down to both pricing strategy, AND approach + mindset. I just did a video on this as well because there's so much involved in that decision, it can be so intimidating. I believe first and foremost the mindset shift here is crucial. Great video!
Thanks so much helping me figure out how to do the upfront research of my target market. I am just at the beginning of the ecom venture and before I start throwing major money I realized I had to figure out who do I want to sell to. Testing with small amounts and tons of products to test what gets interest is where I am at right now, and you help me stay the course and inspire me that I will be selling at higher margins with less work down the road. Bless you, take care.
Thanks for the great video. I could watch this a second time, easily. Good information. I just shut down a specialty automotive business that I've owned for 30 years. I'm trying to determine how I can port over the lessons I've learned into a profitable online business. If I have learned anything it is that one needs to establish a brand and sell to the customer. Like you said. Don't just be an Amazon order taker of a product. I have more than a thousand unique customers with a common interest (speciality cars). I'd like to turn the customers I know so well, who trust me, into buyers in my new endeavor.
Ryan, hopefully you see this at some point, but I've been selling essential oil diffusers, and have made it my focus and you told me that was a mistake. You nailed it on the head, and somehow the random example you used in the video was exactly what I needed to hear. I've been trying to sell an over priced diffuser to try and make my margins and lost focus of the real margins being in my oils.
HOLY $%^& I've been following you for 2 years and this was in the top 2 most informative videos you've ever created. If people just watch this and your video Zero to $1M on Amazon, they don't need anything else. Thank you!!
Oh Ryan....so smart, so articulate and so frickin' hilarious...you make me laugh in every single video; so much fun! This was awesome. I've signed up for ASM with another affiliate, now wish I had gone through you to be part of the Tribe. I'm learning so much in your videos! QUESTION: I toooootally get what you're saying about selling to the person vs selling the product. However, without having an established audience (targeted customers) prior to launching your product (you did say in other videos that if you currently don't have an existing audience, to go ahead and start launching your 3-5 products and start building the audience at stage 2), why then, does this not justify a feeling of fear when a competitor, who maybe HAS a large audience in your niche, has the potential to scoop this idea/product from under you? I feel like, without having an established audience to launch your product to get some early traction, you could just be coming up with fantastically innovative ideas to feed the competition. Despite recently purchasing ASM, I am considering to focus on building my niche audience before launching any products that would be associated with my brand...would love to hear your feedback on this!
I don't get why people seem to react to ryan as some sort of scammy, non informative, untrustworthy guy? the messages you give in your free content are amazing and extremely informative, thanks for doing this.
Really enlightening video Ryan! I know that it's the culmination of about 10 years of education and experience, but it sounds so simple. We're going to go back and re-look at all of our products and brands, and look at the messaging that we currently have. I know that there's room for improvement based on this video.
Great information Ryan! I'm gonna have to watch this like 5 more times to pound it into my head. The tips you talk about in this video seem much easier said than done but nothing good is easy. Thanks for the amazing tips...now I just have to figure out how to change course and make it happen!
These are such valuable tips, took me years to learn then. @Ryan, many thanks for sharing this for free and creating inspiration, many people are paying a lot of money just to get something similar (which many times isn't even close). Keep up the great work!
Great and relevant video Ryan :) I'm launching my first product soon and very thankful I subscribed to your videos last year. It should have been so obvious but when you said "sell to THE PERSON" I knew that was the secret sauce I have been trying enunciate these last few weeks as I map out my brand. sorry about your cat. that really sucks. I'll be in Austin for the 4th of July though if you want to meet up and see my cat videos--or if you want to hear about an awesome brand you helped with your videos :)
This video just changed my whole frame of mind on pricing. I'm working on pre-launching a subscription box for kids. I've only found one other box like what I want to do, basically exact what I want to do and I was going to cut my price by $5 as my competitive edge, but now I'm thinking that's the complete wrong approach! I would be marketing to other moms like me and I've singled out some influencers who have kids that they feature in their social media a lot who I think would possibly feature. I'm looking at Cratejoy. Any other pre-launch advice you have for subscription products??
Question: Do you think it's best to FIRST build an audience by providing valuable content (ie. info publishing business) and THEN launch a brand selling physical products? Or would you launch a physical products brand in parallel with building an audience?
Hey Ryan, just found you yesterday. Great content! Question about the #1-#2 story. So if the only differentiator between your product and theirs was targeting 40-60 yo, what was YOUR differentiator from all the REST that got you to second place? I'm sure you didn't just slap a private logo on a generic product...
Is all your content geared towards amazon fba? Living in a country where Amazon doesn't ship creates a barrier and hard entry. There is little to none ecommerce infraestructure where I am from
I don’t usually comment, but this was an amazing video.. hella golden nuggets in this
Thanks so much! More coming!

Totally get it. Dropping your price is a tactic game - I play the business game!

Thank you!! Yes, too many entrepreneurs get caught up in a race to the bottom.
This just saved me from just selling products on Amazon. Mind opening information! A thousand thanks, Ryan!

Awesome Jake. Thank you - and yeah, people definitely overcomplicate it, because they get lost in the tactics.

Awesome video Ryan. BTW you don't need to be huge to be a Powerlifter. Our founder was only 148lbs and deadlifts 562lbs.
