    2 additional tipps I think help whoever follows this awesome tutorial like I did:
    - The stitches didn't tighten up, but you left out the 1st stitch in every row. When you turn your work you have to go into the first stitch, even though it might look like it's the same you came out of just before. This way my second wristwarmer became a perfect square.
    - You can see in 6:51 that the stitching opens up a little bit underneath the thumb. If you don't like that just make a few more stitches to strengthen this area when you close the wristwarmer up.
    This really is an awesome wristwarmer tutorial nonetheless! Don't get me wrong! :)

    I have not done this with switching colors so I can't really say. I have done these with variated yarn, solid worsted weight yarn and chunky solid yarn and the variated yarn with some texture is my favorite. Give it a try and see!!

    Such a simple way to explain it. This video is over 2 years old, but still extremely effective. I've never tried crocheting gloves for fear they'd be hard to do, but this was easy. Love it. Thank you for sharing =]

    I changed it up and used a puff stitch (starting ch of 20, then 2nd row I used a hdc then on row 3 I started the puff stitch) for these and they are so comfy!! I love these

    Thanks again for the tutorial....very easy to follow. This is only my third project as I have only recently started learning crochet. Just finished the first glove. I also used the granny square tutorial to do a blanket. I also have three friends who are doctor who nuts and wanted me to make a police box phone case so it gave me the chance to work in multiple colours to follow a grid.

    I absolutely love this! But I added my own twist.
    I did two rows with just taking the back loop.
    Then after that, the next row I alternated 7 back loop and 7 whole loop.
    It looks really nice!

    I made some from this pattern but modified it. I turned it so that the lines were vertical vs. horizontal; added a single row of sc at the bottom and a finishing row of 3 sc, 1 sc repeated across the top of the glove. Then I sewed a lace ribbon at the bottom and added a button on top of the lace as an accent.

    Is it worsted weight yarn? It should be enough if you don't make them too long but you will cut it close. I would get 2 to be safe or start with 1 but make sure you can get another skein if you need it! Thanks for watching!

    Hi there. Love your videos. If you are looking for more topics, can you do one on tension - what's right? how do you adjust as you go along? You mentioned in this video you adjust as you go. I'm wondering how. Anyway, love your stuff! Your videos have been very helpful. Keep it up!

  • @MelanieHam
    @MelanieHam  11 лет назад

    well, make sure you aren't doing too many on the ends...if you need to count each row and see if you are actually making more stitches, or just using looser tension? Sometimes the end right before I turn the work, its easy to add 1 extra stitch that doesn't need to be there? does that help?

  • @MelanieHam
    @MelanieHam  11 лет назад

    Yes you can use bulkier yarn, just watch your size and really measure it to your hand because you may need to do fewer stitches across. Also use the hook recommended by the yarn packaging. Thanks for watching and stopping by!

  • @MelanieHam
    @MelanieHam  11 лет назад

    is it a super fuzzy yarn? You may not be able to see the ribs because it is a bit subtle. I guess just make sure you are stitching in that back loop and try a few more rows... its hard to tell with just 2 or 3 rows completed. Hope that helps!

  • @MelanieHam

    hmmm, yes I would try a softer yarn and ease up on your stitching. don't tug on the yarn too tight, let it glide along your finger as you stitch. You can try a larger hook as well. Hope it works out!

  • @KateGirl90

    Mine was just over 7 inches, I'm not sure how many rows that is, I went off of inches and how it looked on my hand.

  • @MelanieHam
    @MelanieHam  11 лет назад

    I don't think I said how many rows, I did it more by measurement. Each type of yarn and hook size will be slightly different, so its best to measure on your hand and decide how many inches you want. Hope that helps!
