Andy Williams is the MC of his own show, introducing The Righteous Brothers when Bill sang his solo: "Unchained Melody" in a live video in 1965, Sarah!
I haven't seen the movie either but I do know that Andy Williams (rip) has such a beautiful clear and pleasant voice and this song was sung beautifully
I’ve been asking people to react to this beautiful song for years, you’re the first one I’ve seen doing it. Your heart felt reaction was just what I expected! 😊
I grew up with this man and his variety show. This is such a great song, his voice so beautiful. My very favorite of his Moon River. Thanks for my memories
Tony Bennett does a fantastic version of this gripper. It is hard to ignore the feelings, even for an old barnacled boy like me. You knew the melody and that is so cool!!
This is such a beautiful theme song from the movie "Love Story" back in 1970. Andy Williams was such a great performer & had a fabulous career. Loved his voice. My favorite song by him is "Can't Get Used To Losing You". He recorded 43 albums & was nominated for 6 Grammy Awards. He hosted his own television variety show "The Andy Williams Show" from 1962-1971 & had many TV specials. He had lots of great songs such as "Moon River" from "Breakfast At Tiffany's" & recorded many other movie themes.
Ryan O'Neal and Ali McGraw! The best tragic "Love Story" in the history of film! Watch it! Don't forget to ge a lot of tissues! You'll need them! Trust me!
I've heard this song since I was a kid in the 70's (born in 1967). I knew it was from a movie but I've never seen this film. I think I need to change that & finally watch it...
I didn’t really like Andy Williams very much when I was growing up. My favourite crooner back then was Dean Martin and he still is, but I appreciate Andy Williams more now that I am older.
Yes, Sarah, this love story ended tragically. Well, it did not end, he survived without her, but, her part in the story was cut short. Had you watched the movie prior to reacting to this song, you definitely would have broken down in tears. Especially with Andy's outstanding performance. am crying now as I type this and i have not seen the movie for over 40 years!! And, now i simply have to go and buy the DVD to add to my collection. BTW - the movie came out in 1970 and was an INSTANT CLASSIC. God bless you, Sarah. Enjoy the holidays. -eric "He must increase, but I must decrease" (John 3:30)
I didn’t go see the movie of the same title when it was in theaters just because I knew it was a tear jerker going in & I didn’t want to cry in public, lol. Andy Williams made a career of singing movie theme songs like this one & many more: Born Free was a BIG hit for him along with Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany’s (he didn’t sing it in the movie, but covered it & had a huge radio hit with it). Speak Softly Love from The Godfather, Love is a Many Splendoured Thing, A Time for Us from Romeo & Juliet, The Impossible Dream (my favorite) from Don Quixote/Man of La Mancha, and Somewhere, My Love from Dr. Zhivago to name just a few. I hope you’ll continue to react to this very talented man’s catalog. 😊
I was 12 when this movie came out, and had a crush on Ali MacGraw that lasted a long long time, lol. Andy Williams’ TV show was a staple at our house, and his songs still have a special place in my heart.
You look so confused while listening to this song. Stop trying to figure out the movie and just appreciate the song for the time being. Later you can watch the movie. But you come across as puzzled and clueless while watching and reading the lyrics, instead of letting your heart be moved by the words and the tremendous singing and voice of Andy Williams.
Robert Evens, head of Paramount Studios at the time, thought the original lyrics were too sexually suggestive, so they used the instrumental version in the movie. New lyrics were written, and on Jan. 17, 1971, both Andy Williams and Tony Bennett released the new song. Side note, at the time, Robert Evens was married to Ali MacGraw, the female star of Love Story.
The scene you watched first was from the 1970 movie called “Love Story”. This is of course the theme from that movie. Beautiful song, and movie! Sad movie, but beautiful! 😉
She wasn't tied down to the bed. What you're seeing is the hospital bracelet on her wrist and a band of tape on her arm that holds her IV in place. I won't ruin it for you but it's about a couple from different backgrounds who fall in love and get married. Bring tissues.

Andy Williams’ voice is so incredible. 😊
You really need to watch the movie, it is as beautiful as the song.
I haven't seen the movie either but I do know that Andy Williams (rip) has such a beautiful clear and pleasant voice and this song was sung beautifully
Still makes me cry 50 years later. So beautiful. His voice was perfect for this song.
I’ve been asking people to react to this beautiful song for years, you’re the first one I’ve seen doing it. Your heart felt reaction was just what I expected! 😊
Used to hear this a bit often many years ago. Always liked it. For some reason I never knew the title. Andy was always one of my favorite singers too.
When I was a kid in the late 1970s my mother had a music box that played "Love Story". I have been in love with the song ever since.
I love getting the dust out of my eyes with you. Thank-you. Sweetness.
👍Andy was a great singer. The movie was great. The woman is Ali McGraw, can't believe she's 83. Time goes too fast. Keep up the good work 👍
If you watch the movie, and not cry at the end, you have no heart.
Watch the movie Love Story with a box of tissues.
Awesome reaction have a lovely night and a good weekend
Thank you! You too!

Love story ,
movie back in the 60s starring Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal the song became everybody's wedding song back in the day

Andy Williams does the best Christmas shows and Christmas songs!!!!! (along with Elvis's Christmas songs of course!!)
Its interesting that the very same scene was used in the movie "For Love of the Game" with Kevin Costner.

Do watch it Nancy. Be sure to have a case of tissues nearby. It's a classic. Doest not get the airplay today that it deserves.
I didn’t really like Andy Williams very much when I was growing up. My favourite crooner back then was Dean Martin and he still is, but I appreciate Andy Williams more now that I am older.
Hi Sarah,
I'm waiting for your song. Your vocalization, "tutututu," was wonderful.
Buy some tissues and watch the movie; it's touching.
All the best
Beautiful!!

Great songs by Andy are Lonely Street and Can't Get Used To Losing You.

In the movie, she got cancer. It was very sad.
Oh No 😢
Growing up with Andy Williams and Nat King Cole singing Christmas Carols is about the best a childhood can be.
Bout time this song gets some real reaction channel action {and the MOVIE too} -- it's shocking it hasn't already

Hey Sarah,, If you have never seen the movie "Love Story" (1970) I would strongly suggest watching it.
Great Reaction 👍🙏💯😎❤️❤️
My favorite crooner.

It's a movie Sarah. If you are ready for one of the best love stories, watch it. But it is a tear jerker for sure.
Dear Sarah, if you will ever made a movie channel, you must see Love Story and of course Moulin Rouge. So beautiful. Thank you for this reaction
