The four solos in a row of Altering the Future are reason alone to hear this masterpiece. And these monster head banger riffs.

This is actually my favorite Death album, to me I can keep coming back to these songs for their energy and drive and jam out. Death's other output is all great to, but this one just hits the sweet spot for me through the whole thing.

Definitely a hidden gem in the discography. I had always heard it overshadowed by the other albums but by god did it hit super hard

You and I both. James Murphy is the key element that takes it to their best album slot.

This song is so sick, the whole album is filled with a lot of hard parts, drums, double bass, I dont know , this album is wicked, like watching a horror film, Chuck Shuldiner and company knew their homework . 😊

I feel like the heaviness of their songs directly correlate to the heaviness of the subject material

I really loved this album when it came out. Lots of great riffs, arrangements, solos and lyrics. I seen death live on tour for this album. They were great. It was death, pestilence and carcass. It was a great show. You should react to pestilence Malleus Maleficarum and Consuming Impulse. Pestilence was pretty awesome on this tour and blew everybody away.
