Treat your ears! A lot of consumer products seem to lack consideration for good audio. At this price there are plenty of ways to spruce up ONE audio spec, but very few boxes tackle as many different audio solutions. Let's take a listen to the SoundBlaster X3!

I had their sound cards for years on my builds in the old days. Always worked great.

This is perfect. I tried the SybaSonic and found the value in an amp/dac for the first time. But now I am returning that and buying this for the ability to seamlessly switch between my headphones and 2.1 speaker system.
The additional EQ functionality is an added bonus. Thanks for the review!

"I couldn't see any support for actual 7.1 speakers" - I think this was the only error in this review. The four 3.5mm outputs support 7.1 speakers and are clearly visible on the back of the X3, it just wouldn't work with the cables some 7.1 speakers come with which use 3 jacks instead of four, but any 3.5mm stereo cables will work.

It’s 7.1 support on the backside
Side rear center/subwoofer and front speaker
You have so buy new cable and than it works I also have 3 channels on one cable but I buy a new cable

Hey Juan great review. Need ur suggestion for it.
Both G6 and X3 looks quite similar to me. The only difference I can see is X3 can support 5.1/7.1ouyput to external speakers. And yeah X3 is big.
So is there any more hardware releated changes between them, apart from what you mentioned in ur video?

It would be really nice to have a TOSLINK input as well.
It can be nice to be able to use the DAC functionality for older devices, or those which can't be directly connected via USB Audio (protocol).
S/PDIF has been around for quite a long time, and a lot of equipment used it, and *still* uses it.
I understand costs had to be cut somewhere, but it's a shame, in my opinion.
To add on: I personally think more people would use this functionality than the multiple 2 channel 3.5mm outputs geared toward building your own 5.1 surround setup.

Seems like a nice alternative to a Mayflower Arc with some more fun features on tap. USB-C is also awesome to see (looking at you Schitt Hel and Fulla)

Sound blaster makes some great stuff! And they're external hardware is usually a really good deal. And even though they aren't schitt (heheheh) their feature set makes up for the barebone audio prowess you get with other "low cost" audio file amp and DACs
That's a lot of ands. Basically I like sound blaster they're super great.

Creative make great cards since the late 80s. I got my first one in 1995. They also simultaneously always made shit drivers that mostly never worked, especially the drivers shipped with the product. They also had a very shit driver support website back in the 90s, not only took a 4MB driver with an ISDN connection up to 3 hours to download, but at times no drivers worked at all, until the community cried out rightfully, so towards the late 90s, Creative started to get their shit together because once those cards worked, they were the best (next to turtle beach). What did not change to this day, are the shit drivers. Even with the Soundblaster Z, the stock drivers again would not work, and even today, in 2022, SoundblasterX AE-5 Plus card has brutally shit driver and even hardware detection in their meh SB Command Software, so, yeah, at least they got their shit together with external Soundcards.

Well, this video left me with a doubt: I have some in-hear headphones with micro included and according to what I understood, the jack input from this DAC doesn't support it? Thank you!

i love the x3, i currently rock it with a DT990 Pro, and a modmic wireless. Which leaves my mic input open, but for whatever reason the line in doesn't work correctly with the mic at the same time (have to switch input to line in to hear), so instead I plugged it into the mic, although confused I am able to use my wireless mic, my headphones as well as my CD player without a problem.

@@lXxImabeastxXl DT990 Pro 250ohms, the X3 software lets you switch from regular to like 250 and what not. Just have to make sure you click on remember setting or something like that so it stays like that.

@@nox_xop does it get loud on 250ohm? Like do you have the freedom to crank it up to loud if you want? I keep my 32 ohm headphones on like 20. Which is loud enough on the g6 on low impedence.
