Interesting comparison Sean. I love your reviews/comparisons because I get to see the product in use rather than someone blathering on about specs and charts. Great job sir.
Hello Sean you should try the 800mm pf, I know it to long for you, but wow is that a light lens, just a bit heavier then the 100-400mm lens I was so surprised.
I've heard that the 100-400 takes 1.4TC very well. Its at F8 but still nice light weight kit to get to that focal length. Not sure if you have Z 1.4 TC to test or not.
I love my 200 400 but I've recently upped my birding game with a 500mm PF. I've had the 200 400 up for sale with no luck. The 100 400 has tanked the resale value of the 200 400 so I'll most likely keep it.
Sean I subscribed... what a nice video. The images really help understand that the Z lens is keeping up with the older lens, besides that it is not as fast. But why didn't they make it a 2.8 lens? Thank you for the video!
I have used the 300 f2. VRii with TC 1.4 for many years, I have more 5 star images in my Catalogue with this lens than any other. I still regret selling it. I now aim for the 400 f4.5 the closes thing to the 300 f2.8 with TC1.4 but so much lighter. I hope the IQ would be good as well.
I am using nikon z6 I don’t have any of these lenses I am thinking to buy the 200-44 VRii for a price less than 2000$ Would you recommend it and just wait for the new z 180-600?
Love the 200-400. One of two long Nikkors i'll never part with. Although because of the weight I often take the little 200-500 or 400mm f4.5 Z lens out instead...🦘
I have the 200-400 f4 and it is a beast, but so good! I use it with my Z9.
Always excellent and informative to show the benefits of Z mount v F mount on a z mount body.
Hello Sean ! great comparison. thanks for the hard work. I guess this 200-400 might be super on a D6. Dis you experience this set up ?

Love that lens , its the 4th addition to my pro lenses il never give up

I really liked this style of comarison!

Absolutely love going to the Hawk Conservancy Centre, considering the Z400 F4.5 with a teleconverter to partner my 70-200mm.
What monopod do you use or would you recommend with the 200-400f4? It's a beast with a lot of weight. I use it with. my nikon Z8

Thanks for an interesting series of comparisons. I was wondering if you've compared the Z 100-400 vs the Z400 f/4.5?
I'm just about to :)
@@seancameronphotographic3740 looking forward to that one

have the 200-400 f4… it’s a monster! i prefer the fuji 150-600 f8, to be honest… much lighter, faster AF, and super nice images
That’s the way I feel about my 600 F 4
Love the 200-400.

I like the 200-500 f5.6 better then the 200-400
11:18 great shot 👍😎 Was using my 300 f4 today and the background blur at f4 is good, but yea sounds like I'd want to avoid the 5.6!
