He didn't walk out of an avengers interview. He walked out of a interview falsely advertised as one. Guy should have stayed on topic, what a shame.

In fairness, Channel 4 is a state-owned broadcaster and over here they're not allowed to run promotional material to the point where they don't even have advertisements between programmes. They do these types of interviews where it links back into what the actor is there to promote but isn't a pure promotion and more journalistic, I suppose.
That said, entirely innapropriate and poorly approached line of questioning and I'm surprised that Guru-Murthy actually even bothered to press on with it even after noting himself that RDJ didn't seem comfortable with it.

@@enduser8410 no seriously that's true what he said. I stand against them in this situation but channel 4 aren't allowed to promote in this situation even though the way that they went about it here was completely wrong and if you look at other interviews you'll either find the same or will find them doing a little better so actually try looking at other stuff before you accuse it of being bs also this interviewer is actually known for asking personal questions and its surprising he even has a life or career

What I hate about this is the fact that Channel 4 has almost tried to make it seem like Robert was the bad guy. "star walks out when asked about his past". No, he walked out when the interviewer, who is such an asshole that he has a long list of people he's pissed off, crossed the bounderies. Robert was there to talk about AVENGERS AGE OF ULTRON, not his past. That's so old now and he's turned his life around so dramatically. Honestly, I haven't seen the other interviews this guy has done, but I kinda hope Channel 4 sacks him soon. Or at least stops sending him out to interview celebrities

      There was no bad guy!
If anything, I'm not sure why KGM danced around the topic, and sided up to it. He wasn't warned off areas of questioning (no, leave that to michelle pfeifferererer). He was invited to ask his questions - he should've just asked,
'Are you, Robert Downey Jr, the living embodiment of Tony Stark, sans the engineering brilliance and billion dollar corporation?'
After all, they both wrestle/d with dependency issues.

He didn't "walk out" at all, he just politely cut the interview short when the interviewer was obviously provoking him. (I have the social skills of the bagel I'm eating, and I could tell the poor guy was on the verge of hyperventilation. RDJ handled that a LOT better than I would have. )

He didn’t do anything wrong. He gave him a chance, and then he left. He was right all the way.
His body language was clearly uncomfortable, he was counting to ten in his mind and that guy knew he was pushing his buttons. He did it on purpose.
    He deserved it.

While I don't like the interviewer's actions I don't think it was handled that well by Tony as people say it was.
I mean him saying "Bye." and walking out was really abrupt and random. If I were Tony I would've tried redirecting the interviewer to more relevant questions and told him that what you're currently asking isn't good. That he has to stop and ask better questions or I'm leaving.
I would've let him know that the questions are off track and personal and that he has to stop and get better or it's over. Basically I'd be telling him what he's doing wrong and to improve.
Just leaving someone just says you're upset it doesn't say why. If someone is upsetting you let them know why unless they're a really unstable person like a domestic abuser and you just need to get out of there. Be explicit. They need to know why in order to improve and not do it again and again.
People that screw up need to be told that in order to really learn from it. Now will they? Not necessarily, but at least you were explicit so they can't say "I didn't know!" or "You didn't say anything!".
Now do we have a responsibility to gauge our behavior regardless if the person says anything? Of course, but being explicit makes it really clear of what they need to stop doing. No ambiguity, just certainty.
Regardless of my judgment of his method of leaving, he did it and I will say that it worked.
He didn't want to be asked such questions so he left and no more questions! Problem solved.

RDJ had every right to stop the interview and step out of it.
The interviewers have a right to ask questions its their job but what he asked was uncalled for, and really really rude and none of his business.
That’s RDJ’s personal life and he should be allowed his privacy just like us normal people are allowed ours.
At least he was respectful to this interviewer and just calmly stood, said “Right, Bye.” And walked out with no drama. Like a professional should act.
RDJ is an amazing actor, he’s one of my favorites and he’s so humble and so kind and has really risen from the ashes like a phoenix, he’s overcome a really big obstacle and is thriving.
That interviewer was so rude, off topic and that was really a low blow because people in the situation he was once in as an addict who did time are always going through that process its life long it doesn’t stop once you get over that hump.
That woman is 100% right, he should be celebrated for his triumphs, not judged for his past.
